How does it shoot? Thinking about getting this model, a Fed 35 or a Fed 50. Let me know what would be the best. Shooting off of a AE-1 currently and I have tons of lens options but I want a smaller, easier, simpler, lighter, and just overall, different. I also am from Russia and I love 70’s-80’s Russian technology aesthetic. Let me know how you like this!

I really enjoy it. I had an AE-1 program but sold it after getting the FED. This is now the go to film camera for me. If I want something smaller I have an Olympus rc35 but the FED is the standard film camera now

My grandfather gave this gorgeous camera to me, and after shooting my first roll of film, I noticed my shots counter wasn’t working until after I took 10-15 shots. After I unwinded the film, it reset, but after some blank shooting, it reads “1” . I was wondering if you could tell me how to reset the counter. I turned the internet upside down and still couldn’t find an answer. Thanks!

Artem that’s pretty normal. Once you load the film in you will need to wind through the first couple of shots to get past the beginning of the roll. The first part of the roll isn’t viable for shots. 10-15 shots sounds pretty high though. Should be only around 5 or so shots to get to the start of the shot counter

Alex Jones thank you very much! Also , how many times would you recommend to cock the shutter and realease until I get past the “blank” film? I was thinking 3 times is enough
