    1948 Triumph 1800 Roadster
(Previously supplied by us around 7 years ago)
Produced between 1946 - 49, the Triumph Roadster featured aluminium coachwork with styling very much in the pre-war idiom. The car was able to seat three across the bench seat, whilst the rear dickey seat offered occasional fine weather accommodation for two.
Powered initially by a 1.8 litre engine similar to that used in the smaller Jaguar of the period, later models were to use the same unit as fitted to the Standard Vanguard. The Triumph Roadster has always enjoyed something of a cult following and they are catered for by an enthusiastic owners’ club.
Comfortable and very stylish, these cars are ideal for longer distance touring, as the dickey seat area, when not in use, offers plenty of space for luggage.
This example is of 1948 manufacture and was the subject of major restoration some years ago
The work included rebuilding of the engine, a full overhaul of the braking system with new cylinders all round. Five new tyres were fitted, much bright work replated, the dashboard and door cappings re-lacquered. The hood and carpets have also been renewed and the seats recovered in beige hide. The brakes have also been overhauled.
In all, a very smart example of this iconic model. It retains the original and distinctive Perthshire registration number and is offered with much documentation and correspondence from the Triumph Roadster Club.

Good that you added flashing indicators - so good that they're concealed. So many classic cars are spoilt by blobs of orange!
We had a black Triumph 1800 Saloon in the 60s, ran for years - lovely car.

Welcomed with much derision in the late 1940's ,: I can just remember their debut, and my father's swift dismissal : The sister model with the Vanguard engine was marginally preferable , ....but there are many who would dispute that .
