  • This classic Pioneer deck is running a little slow. We will give it a good overhaul to correct the issue.

    Thank you so much for this, I have this exact turn table and after owning it a very short time it slowed and stopped. Followed your video and tested the RPM. Its alive and back. 🙂

    You really should buy another nut driver set as this is the second video of yours that I have watched where you left the nut driver set in the garage. You must have a birthday or something coming up and darn it you deserve another set. :)

    Thank you for this...followed your tutorial and got my player smooth as butter! It actually sounds pretty good as far as "budget TT's" goes...How do you get the cover hinges to release?

    Greetings!
    Thank you for great tutorial. My TT is running a little too slow. I've done the same procedure as you but still slow. Do you have any advice how to get the speed up?

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  2 роки тому +1

      Speed on these tables is really dependent on the correct belt. You can apply a little paint like nail polish to the motor spindle to increase its diameter. That will increase the speed of the platter.

      @@TurntableGuy Thank a lot. Are the nail polish going to affect the sound or performance of the turntable?

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  2 роки тому +1

      @@TheBabian96 No. Apply light coats to the motor pulley while it's spinning. Let it dry, then check your speed. If it's still slow, apply another coat and check again. I did a video on this, just can't remember which one...

      @@TurntableGuy Perfect! Does this have the same effect as getting a thicker belt? I bought my TT in a thrift shop so the belt might not be the original one.

    Hi there. Great video! I have a question: I have the oppourtunity to buy one of these for $100. It is working fine I am told, no issues. I know it is hard to answer without seeing or hearing the unit, but would you think this is a fair price? Thanks.

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  2 роки тому +1

      Considering the prices these days, I'd say that's a pretty fair price if it's decent

    I think it would be easier to clean the belt debris off the motor pulley, before you remount the motor.

    AC sync tables of this era always look great and are heavy. Sadly they are junk. Chasing belts that achieve the correct speed, whether circumference, width or thickness, is a wild goose chase. I refuse to service them any longer. I have retrofitted dc motors in a couple instances, but is not worth the hassel. I truely loath them. 99% alcohol or brake clean on a microfibre rag makes very quick work of the belt goop.

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  2 роки тому

      They are a pain-in-the-butt to achieve good speed on. But, I enjoy working on a true, beefy motor!
