holleeeee molly, okay i just changed my spacemouse buttons to 'zoom extents' and 'zoom selection' JEBUS that was a game changer for me, i was moving around way too much - thats a time saver. THANKS!
I've had the wired Space mouse for a long time. Sometimes I try navigating with the mouse but it seems very awkward. One bad habit I've developed that is similar to my sister driving with her foot resting on the clutch pedal; Try to pick a precise point I forget my left hand is resting on the Space mouse and I'm 'jiggling' my target, almost imperceptibly. One mis click and there goes the whole sunroom. The other thing about Spacey, is the software overhead. I don't know how big the supporting software bundle is, but it's huge. The hat trick of Sketchup saving, Spacemouse zooming and my left hand initiating another command can make Sketchup "unresponsive". I've got another 'puter in mind that will solve that glitch. I've dropped mine from mid-waist to concrete floor, no damage.
I too own a SpaceMouse but honestly it's not a great addition to your workflow. It's strictly about showcasing and presentation, and it's great for that, really fun, but you just can't use it while actively working on something because you need your left hand on the keyboard at all times. The benefit of using the keyboard for shortcuts far, far outweighs any benefit you might derive from using the SpaceMouse. (Talking about the basic model. There are the advanced models with tons of dials and buttons, so that might work, but I don't have the experience to tell).
Whenever I try to download sketchup 2015, my version is 10.7.5 and doesn't allow it to run on it. I don't want to update it because it becomes slower everytime my Mac gets updated. Is there like a loop hole for downloading Sketchup 2015
I have a question, what kind of laptop is fit for Google SketchUP? My current laptop is so shitty, and I have the money to buy a relatively expensive laptop. I just don't want to throw away my money on anything. I need it to work perfectly for SketchUp. I'm not a 'gamer' so I don't care if it cannot handle games.
+Trevor Johnson any laptop or notebook with a 4gb ram, 32 or 64 bit would do, and maybe an intel 5 or amd processor. :) lesser specifications might work but not be effective.
Any Thinkpad T, W or P series , or Dell Precision series, or HP Zbook series, equipped with Quadro video cards, minimum 2 gigs ram for the video card and I recommend a minimum of 8 gigs for system ram, an SSD is a must and a quad core processor, i5 or i7, xeon is even better, but might be overkill.
Something Ive been meaning to do for a while...create a short cut for Hide Rest of Model. Now its done! Quick and easy. Cheers for that

After object is shaped by artisan it stays black with blue lines and does not change ? Any clues
Press the Enter or Return key to accept the shape and it should go back to a normal SketchUp looking model.
