Omg I didn’t realize how much her voice changed on DIL until you did that flashback. She’s in her grown woman era. I much prefer her tone nowadays.her tessitura changed and that’s ok.
Yess this is exactly what i told my friend when he was like why would she open with dil blahblahblah & i said well she is showing gratitude, appreciation she did this tour for us it's her love letter to the hive in a way!
I didn’t go to the concert, but I never even thought of who would be her opener. Thank you for sharing! I remember I went to a Jay-Z show about 10 years ago and he opened for himself and halfway through the show and had Jeezy do his set so that he can take a break and then he came back stronger. I thought that was a genius move on his part, but hearing that Beyoncé did this and all her dancing and singing is beyond commendable.
@@xavierrobinson200MJ (God rest his soul) walked so she could run. Just like the greats did before him. I’m sorry, but it’s Beyoncé’s time. She’s earned it
I have been to this tour twice and her vocals live within my heart ❤️. I knew she was a great singer but now I know she stands among the greatest singers of all time. Period ha
I love these kind of videos that breakdown Beyoncé’s incredible vocals. Because she makes it look easy and is such an amazing performer people like to downplay her vocals. She is a such a fantastic top tier vocalist. Also we need to talk about how her voice carries so much power and projects so beautifully. Being in that huge stadium and just hearing her voice surround everyone was such an unreal feeling.
This was the first time she performed this song in over 10 years. (That “Loving Me” run is the vintage run from back in the Beyoncé Experience days, she has always done it)
You used the performance from Atlanta Night 3... I attended that show and was my first time seeing her live. Hearing Dangerously In Love live is magical and effortless on her part. This song will always be a favorite from her.
Same here!!! My first concert ever was a Beyoncé concert, which happened to be the magical Atlanta Night 3 Show. It’s been over 8 weeks since then and I still haven’t fully recovered. Hearing this song, really did something to me, and I didn’t love it as much until I heard her sing it live in this way since the tour started.
You made a great point about adapting the music around your voice. It saddens me when I see some of our beloved vocalists still trying reach notes of their youth. The average ear won’t always discern the difference between keys but they know when the singer is struggling and can’t comfortably reach the notes anymore. Unfortunately, too many singers are prideful to make these type of adjustments. Then when their voices mess up, they won’t even see a vocal coach to get back on track either. Beyoncé’s intentionality and self awareness as a vocalist makes me happy.
Thanks so much for tuning in to what I had to say! And yesssss! It takes intentionality and self-awareness to really pull off the longevity of excellence Beyoncé has. I can't even imagine the inner work it would take!
Surprisingly I did not want Beyoncé to stop singing when the first set came to an end. During Beyonce time not on tour since 2018 there was a lot of chatter on social media saying Beyonce could not SANNNGGG. She had to take us back and set the record straight that she is a SINGER FIRST!!!! FYI the New Orleans show, bey was showing off!! Yesssss
Do an analysis for "Plastic of the sofa" and "virgos groove" on this tour. It will be intresting to seen your point of the diference of the live perfomances, she is doing an amazing job, it kind genious the way she intepretate her own songs on the stage, the notes and the texture of her voice on this 2 songs live is amazing. I love your Channel, and thanks for this one!! Love from Brazilian Beyhive.
I loved this footage you're using for this analysis. I was at this show and it was an absolutely breathe-taking live performance and demonstration of her mastery. Thanks for the reminder! 💜
I love this opening act the tour and I loved ur video and all the videos on Bey's voice. If you could, I would love an analysis on the 1+1 performance from the Louisville show
I always say Beyoncé voice now is the best it’s ever been. Back then I use to feel like her voice wasn’t all the way developed it was like she was singing like hell but I could tell she go harder and now she is like now her voice literally goes through the roof 👏🏾 a good example is her rehearsing I was here in the back of the car in her documentary.
Y’all her first show in Toronto she was sick. You could hear it in her speaking voice when she did her opening speech. 😩 when I tell yooooooou! SICK WHERE?! WHO?!!? She’s mastered her instrument for sure. It was such a wonderful display of abilities from start to finish of the show.
I so appreciate your passion, knowledge, and ability to educate. The visuals help me understand this so much better. I can't sing but when I do, I go for the heavy hitters. This is my favorite Beyonce song so I'm very grateful for this video. Honestly, I wish I could get a breakdown of how to sing this as someone who only sings when no-one is around, including when and how to breathe lol. Def gotta check out the masterclass resource 💕
Thank you for mentioning the importance of thinking about voice across songwriting and performance etc. It's so true and something I've only more recently become more aware of.
The “dangerouly” riff coming out of the bridge sounds a lot like the drunk in love riff loop (that she added to the end), almost like she’s warming up for that later.
Love this analysis!!!! Have you done any analysis of Usher, comparing his vocals now at 45 years old singing the same songs when he was in his 20s and 30s? I want to know the techniques that artists like Beyonce and Usher use to keep their vocals sounding so good as they age.
@@ML.7777 Yup, It's those arabic scales she's using during the outro. Who even does that in rnb, pop, country or any other genres except in arabic music ???? No one. That's why Prince respected her artistry, talent and musical knowledge. She's a one of one. The way she's incorporating those arabic scales into rnb and pop songs is unmatched
I went to this show and ATL night 2 and babyyyyyy!! I almost threw my shoe at the stage this night! She was showing out! Omg I want to relive that moment!
Renaissance is the GREATEST live show ever by the Greatest Performer of ALL TIME. She literally outdid Coachella/ Homecoming and Formation tour. Like WHO IS CHECKIN BEYONCE??!
Hey great video. I’m a huge Beyoncé fan and I love how you break everything down. One thing I’ve noticed: I think she lipped most of the first verse of Dangerously in Love on the Renaissance tour. She starts to sing live when it gets to “Proud to be your girl,” right before the chorus, and this is where you noted her darker tone comes through. I noticed that the first verse sounds the exact same every show. As someone who is not a singer, I wonder why she made the choice to lip the first part of the song.
When people were complaining about her not dancing that much, I literally it’s because she is SINGING this time and yeah you can say age but I don’t count that because look at JLO and Jane but mind you Janet and Jlo don’t sing like Beyoncé which contains a whole other scale of breath control.
An analysis on 1+1 could work compares to the mrs carter show to now. But I honestly think 1+1 relies on the instrument being played this time it was a guitar others were saxophones and another I believe was a trumpet but it all works
Videos and breakdowns like this make me puzzled even more as to why people say stuff like “She’s JUST a great performer” or “She can’t sing!” Like how are these actual statements 26 years into her career??!???
I agree and I definitely think because most people do not know vocal mastery. They know “singing” but most don’t understand the art. I was in AWE at the KC show…like ma’am, we are your last show and she came out on that stage and blew us away. I will always remember that…the 56th performance and she was amazing
I love this because I have said that Britney has a voice. She grew up on Mariah and Whitney and you can hear on her first two albums she was trying to be more of a vocalist. I hope she works with you.
You maaaay be thinking of the reverb that allowed her voice to echo. Other than that, I'm pretty sure that everything you're hearing there is her voice. Isn't it cool!? 😮

I feel like she opened with this as a love letter to her fans. You feel it when she’s say “ I love you (name of the city) and sings to us.
