    I started my process on February 1st. Today is the 28th of august. I have passed my entrances exam, medical, structure interview, polygraph, fitness exam, and drug test. Did you guys elect to start working before your security clearance is completed? I don’t know how to feel about working with an interim clearance, going through their academy, then for whatever reason getting told there is a hold up on my security clearance. You would normally get placed in a position that does NOT require a clearance in the meantime. That affects the pay your receive and available overtime and even promotion timelines

The entrance exam was waived for me and I passed my Structured Interview a few weeks ago and I literally Applied in late January. Only things I got left is the Poly, Drug Test and PFT (and background investigation but they'll be doing that while I'm in the academy). Only thing I'm worried about is the Poly but the last one I took I passed it but this is going to be more stressful because it is a few hours longer than the last one I took. But assuming everything goes well I will be in the May 2022 academy. Thank for confirmations, as far as I can tell it is a good foot in the door and It'll get me back in crazy shape

      We work mandated 10.hour days and we don't get time and a half like the rest of the world. So what the gov did was take away flsa....mandate 10.hour days, then added 25% for the first 8.hours and zero pay the last two hours. And if you don't work those last two unpaid hours you then owe the government those two hours. Pro tip, dont bother with the union, in 12 years they have only gotten us pay losses, mandated 10 hour days and a beard.

      Hey im thinking im gonna apply in 6 months. By then I will have ONLY 1 year of PART TIME busboy experience. Recruiter told me too. See how it is.
      I dont think I’ll get accepted. I am getting my EMT basic soon and will be attending fire academy in the fall. I will apply for border patrol once ive done that for a couple years.
      Is this a good idea? Should I apply the first time? How long until after my rejection can I apply again?

    So they want you to be honest on the polygraph, but are then obligated to arrest and charge you for any crimes you admit during the test?? Where’s the incentive to be honest then? Everyone is guilty of something...

    I am currently in the military been serving for 3 years and I’m planing to do 4-5 years more and I’m planing to transfer to border patrol or customs how soon do you think I should apply?

    • @damienromine4204
      @damienromine4204 3 роки тому +1

      If you’re already in the military & planning to do another 4-5 years in the military, I wouldn’t necessarily worry about application now. But, I talked to a recruiter & he said start about a year out from your ETS date, the process could take long, BP website has a list of recruiters in your area you can contact as well.

    • @FEDLEO
      @FEDLEO  3 роки тому

      I agree you should start applying at least 1 year out from your ETS date, that way you can complete all the required steps and standing by for an EOD and class date. Best of luck to you, and thank you for your service.

    Does anyone know how long it takes to get a final offer after receiving a tentative job offer letter?

    • @FEDLEO
      @FEDLEO  3 роки тому +1

      There are many factors. Things the HR and hiring managers have to consider are how many positions they are filling, do you require training (i.e. academy class), do they have candidates to fill a class, and is the position being filled contingent on budget. The best time and worst time to be in the hiring process is be between Aug and Sept. Often the HR and hiring manager needs to EOD a person on or before the fiscal year ends so they will need to rush the processing before Sept 30. But if the applicant doesn't complete the process by the end of the fiscal hiring year, then the position and/or funding could be canceled and re-announced the following FY. If you have a TJO just continue to be patient and periodically politely check with the HR POC to show them you are still interested and standing by for FJO and EOD.
