Short presentation, which is great for this format
We immensely love this channel, because of ART matters in any society.
Art in my view is a reflection of what the artist see in real life, in essence, society as you said.
Do you deal art? I have a Rembrandt painting and I would like to sell it but I prefer to a private person not to a gallery.
I’m very fascinated with the reality from his self-portraits; especially as he got older.
I REALLY like these narrators!
wonderfully presented
I love Perspective's art history documentaries. I don't love typos. Please fix the title. It's Rembrandt, not Rembrand.
Nice catch.
Great video 👍
Note to self... never feel sorry for someone whom is richer than you. Sad he ended up broke. So sad.
very good
18:41 thats what he drew the circles with
❤❤❤❤
Wow
So... Rembrandt loved making selfies before phones were invented...
😂😂🌸
Other: this guy must be this, this, this, and that. because He or She doing this painting of himself or herself.
Artist: I just want to try new techniques so I paint myself for experiments. so others may find it interesting and want to commission with a similar technique or style.
That's what I think too. Is this true or just a thought?
@@wakamiwailer I think it's can be both as a Failed artist myself people who enjoy your art think differently than the artists think about their own art. so yeah, and this is why the appreciation timeline for certain artists is so late most of the time than his timeline seeing about what art is.
Today for instance people in the digital art space try to copy what genre is the most enjoyed by the public and go from there, but there are other artists too who enjoy their art like no one in the mainstream but still see the mainstream and got some influence by it and start new things pick some colors different, gives some flare that they kinda like from the mainstream artist and put it in their own works and all that theory and then some people maybe notice that "Wtf this artist trying to be, I like their old art more". and the story continues.
This happen multiple times throughout history. People enjoy different things and try to copy from others what they actually like and ignore the things that they didn't like because sometimes you look at Amazing pictures and you like "I like this but I didn't like that thing there if this is mine I'll do a bit different" Art is subjective so yeah.
I love how the person who posted this video misspelled the subject
When and if the artist varnishes the painting, it is finished, unless, of course, the artist had a change of mind.
I tried to email you an inquiry but the email address did not work
Well, the "2 circels" looks like two halfs of one circle to me 🤔 The left one looking bigger is just an optical illusion. Put the left half next to the right one and voila
Please add a “t” behind the name Rembrandt 😉
Rembrandt van Rijn.
Anyone? Seems it wasn't R.van Rign. I search for two paintings I can only describe. How do I proceed?
van Rijn
Rembrandt van Rijn. Name is written wrong everywhere!
Harvey Kietel could well have played him in a movie.
14:15 ''Your body will never be familiar.'' - Leonard Cohen
16:24 A Work of Art is Never Finished, Merely Abandoned. - Paul Valéry? W. H. Auden? Anaïs Nin? Maya Deren? Jean Cocteau? Gore Vidal? Marianne Moore? George Lucas? Oscar Wilde?
Personally I agree with the gestalt thereon, that they are all complete as well. - Just another one of the other present day salt water wet backs from the William Gilpin's of Kentmere.
Narrator Jonathan Kydd: Voice & Inflections are highly reminiscent of John Hurt's.
''All'l be answered when we are all quickened.'' - William Gilpin 82320
Visual Artists usually have self-portraits (Selfies).. I am no exemption to this.
Please do not muddy the waters between self-portraits and selfies. They are not the same thing.
Un gran dibujante y pintor que vivió rico y murió pobre.
Rembrandt. Does no one ever check their own work?
Too much of a British view on the greatest artist that ever lived.
How so?
Art is subjectable, to those viewing the work. No one is the Greatest artist who ever lived.
@@el_spicerbeasto that is your unimportant British opinion.
@@svenhurdurburdursson8765 I'm Texan.
I find Rembrandt boring, overrated. Too bourgeois, northern european protestant sensibility, aesthetics. He was very technically gifted but still his work bores me to death. Doesnt arouse or move me in the least. Same with Vermeer. The greatest artist in my opinion is Michelangelo because of his immense talent in 4 disciplines, sculpture, fresco painting, architecture and poetry
Im trying to learn something from this but there isnt much objective information
This is also a 20 minute video. You'd need more time to go into the fine details.
making a documentary about Rembrandt and using reproductions of books is miserable
Can anyone interested to buy a self portrait of Rembrandt? Please message
Very annoying with the re-enactments, dopey actors in period costume...why. It’s unwatchable. Particularly perverse when the topic is Rembrandt’s self portraits.
Yes agreed. It would have been so much better to just have a narration instead of high school acting.
"You need a Rembrandt in a serious Art Collection"
Me: This guy know s**t about real Art LOL
Me: Some rando in the youtube comments thinks he knows more about "real" art than does the authority in the video ... maybe he does, maybe he doesn't ... ?
What is real art then?
Its funny how subjective art is. I could never understand all the fuss about Rembrandt. I find all his painting dull and boring and gloomy. If i had one I would sell it asap.
Shocking statement. Please state who you find a good artist, if you say Warhol, you are an idiot.
