Guys the rims look great. Don't forget to make sure the point on the Porsche Emblem rim insert is pointed at the valve stem. Keep the videos coming and i can't wait to hear the Fister system.
James the parts look AWWWWWWWESOME!!! Two items for you guys. First, I didn't mention in my video that I installed the 3rd radiator option which is good for tracking the car. The water temp never moves above 194 now and oil temp is about 10-15 degrees lower. Not sure if that's an option for you guys. Second, I just installed Michelin pilot sport cup 4S tires before my last track day a few weeks ago and OMG I was hitting 1.2 g's and holding in the turns. Glue I tell ya glue!!!!!! Can't wait to see all the parts on 🙌
i had Fister mufflers on my 997.2 C2S, and I couldn't agree more.. they radically transform the sound. The ceramic coating option also made a noticeable difference in heat management. Once the new ones were on, I shipped the original ones that were removed back to Darren. Perfectly seamless
Thank you guys. Enjoying the series. I just installed the Fister mufflers recently. The sound is perfect and it transforms the entire driving experience. Glad I watched your 997 Fister muffler video. Just received my Project 996 cap! Thanks!
Rapidly becoming the very best 996 channel so well done, always looking forward to the next episode, thank you. Gulf Pale Blue and Orange would be an awesome colour combo for this 996, just my ten penneth. Love the wheels and the ducktail, not decided on the tailpipes yet, but love the Fister mod.
Hello from London (raining!). Firstly I wanted to thankyou for your inspirational videos...my 991 is arriving in a few days time and Im earth rippingly excited. Im loving the 996 project..those rims look spectacular...tyres please soon! Cheers!
Project 996 is in full effect! Love the deep dish on the rims, can’t wait to see the progress - paint colour, hmm, a epic dark green would look spectacular on the 996! I hope that colour is in the runnings!
Cheers Mike!! Can’t wait to get the paint job done. We think we’re set on a color, but I keep seeing outlaw 911s on Instagram and keep changing my mind every day. 🤣🤣👍
I'm really liking the styling decisions so far. This would be my preferred direction for the 996. I'll likely do similar with my Boxster when I get it in the near future (minus ducktail of course)
Hi James what about Crayon white (current Porsche colour) with a Tag Monaco blue and orange thin stripe. Would look great with the wheels and duck tail.
No joke I was looking at the EXACT same rims for my 996 while your video was playing in the back ground then all of the sudden you're pulling those rims out of the box😲😅
@@AutoAmateur oh I was about to till I looked at the finances and had to settle on "another day"😆 I currently have the 19" BBE wheels made for the 997 on there so still a good look. Glad to follow your channel, fun to see the progress!
Hi James how about the exterior in Crayon (current Porsche colour) with a Tag Monaco Gulf orange and blue thin stipe. Would look amazing with the wheels and duck tail.
Could you explain a little about the reasoning for the Fister Mufflers? Is it purely for the sound? And if so, would any model (996/997) benefit from them?
It's the sound essentially and the sound they create is AWESOME!!! Any 996 or 997, should benefit from them. Check with FD Motorsports for the correct fitment!
So my car came modded with fab speed exhaust... Which can get a little loud in my neighborhood... so was thinking about doing the soul performance valved units but was curious of the difference between those and Fister's and which do you prefer?
That’s a great question!! It’s difficult to answer because the Fister mufflers and Soul valved exhaust systems are very different propositions to one another. They function differently, the sound differently and they perform differently. It’s almost like comparing apples and oranges. I would say if you love the stock exhaust note of the 911 but you want a deeper, slightly fuller tone, go with the Fister. If you want the sound of a performance sports car that rips between gear changes, gives you pops and crackles as you downshift and really gives you a thrill that sets the hair on the back of your neck stand on end - go with the Soul PP valved exhaust system. The Fister is like going out on a date with a supermodel. The Soul PP setup is like her taking you back to her place after dinner. 🤣🤩🔥🔥🔥
I have a ducktail on mine that's the entire rear deck lid, and one of the vents is kind of broken. What's the company called that made this one? I want to see if i can find some replacement vents.
That's a lot to unpack at once, very exciting and happy for you! It's a shame that the wheel centre cap is missing a "T" in "Stuttgart", but I'm sure no one will notice...
Thanks. That’s actually the one I’ve been looking at. I’ll wait and see how the installation goes for you 😬. Lee’s video about the CSR carbon fiber ducktail had me wondering about the fit on the less expensive ones. But if it works, I’m in!
By the time we are finished, I doubt we will make any money on this car. If we are lucky, we will cover all costs. If we do have any extra money at the end of it we are thinking about a project with a 993 or 997.
BTW, LA Dismantlers are the worst for saving money~~ I've had several dealings with them. They want more or equal to than OEM products. .Buy OEM Porsche parts .Don't buy from these guys!
Good stuff. The Ducktail makes the difference 👌🏻

Thanks mate!! Appreciate it! 🙌🙌🙌
Love your work guys watching everything you’re doing all the way from Australia.

Thanks so much!! That’s very kind!! 🤩🙌
Love all the mods. You may want to consider having the five petals of the wheel painted silver for a more classic Fuch look.
Thanks so much!! Appreciate it.
Those wheels are gorgeous!! And such a deal!! Great deal on the Fisters too!
Thanks!! Can’t wait to get them all installed.
Great series and also loving your garage setup! Cheers!
Thanks so much! As much as I love my garage, it could use air-conditioning at the moment. 😆😂

Cheers Michael!! 🤩🙌
Nice rims boys!!!
Cheers Dave!
James, you’re such a big kid! 😀
Just like a little boy in a sweetshop (candy store)
I’m so jealous, looks like so much fun!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 that’s probably the most accurate way to describe me. 🤣👍
Those wheels are going to be awesome
Thank you!!
Hahaha...Ducktail!!! 😎👍👍
That’s right!!
Wawww gorgeous rims guys...ideal combination black/ chromium...so excited to see them fitted !!!
Good choice 👍
Keep up the good work...
Sport classic ! So nice .

My vote for color would be Lago Green Metallic. It would look classy with those wheels. Plus, it’s a period correct color for that generation!
I haven’t seen that color before. I’ll have to check it out!!
Auto Amateur please do! Check it out on rennbow. It gives a brief description of the color and its rarity.
Those Fuchs-fakes look great. I'm very curious at their weight, though....
They're pretty light! Not as heavy as the OEM ones we removed.
Looking good...be good to hear the exhaust note when it’s been fitted 👍👍
Irish Green or British Racing Green would be a great color choice. Also be sure and get those wheel center caps pointed correctly :-)
Love the channel, big fan, You should consider an olive green
Cheers and thank you!!!
Now the real fun begins ✌️
Hi, what do you plan to do with the wheels that you are taking off. I am interested in purchasing them. Thanks
Hi James what about Crayon white (current Porsche colour) with a Tag Monaco blue and orange thin stripe. Would look great with the wheels and duck tail.
Loving this series 😎
Cheers Paul, thanks so much!!
What brand of ducktail did you use? Or can you send me a link? Same with the fuchs please.
Love the work you guys are doin

Fair enough!! We’re keeping a close eye on our build budget. Thanks for watching and commenting!! Cheers!
Hi James how about the exterior in Crayon (current Porsche colour) with a Tag Monaco Gulf orange and blue thin stipe. Would look amazing with the wheels and duck tail.
I think the “500 dollar” one looks amazing. Glad it doesn’t take up the entire rear end.
Thank you!!

@@AutoAmateur Thanks, loving this project. Learning a lot!
Who are the manufacturers of the wheels and ducktail! In the future any chance you can list with links in the description?
That’s a great suggestion, and I really should get better at the descriptions underneath my videos. I will add that shortly.
Doesn’t the duck tail block the third break light?
I don’t think so… But we will check.

James, Great vid . whats the brand of scissor lift and how do you get on with it?
I have a ducktail on mine that's the entire rear deck lid, and one of the vents is kind of broken. What's the company called that made this one? I want to see if i can find some replacement vents.
Where did you get the ducktail?
Seller on eBay, around $500.
Might be time for AC in the garage.
I think so!!!!
Name of the wheels? (Brand name).......I would like to get a set.....

Are you selling the car and donate the money or have a raffle? Or had give it away to one of your subscribers? Donating the money sounds better!!!
