17:45 in Splatoon, there’s an in game popularity contest called Splatfest, where people choose a side and battle for points. The last Splatfest for a game decides the next game’s theme. In Splatoon 2, the final Splatfest was Order vs Chaos. Chaos won, so we’re getting a setting almost like a post apocalypse
2022 looks stacked right now: Legends Arceus, Splatoon 3, Kirby, Triangle Strategy, Bayonetta 3, BotW2, and I'm probably missing a bunch and there's probably more TBA in future directs. That's a fantastic year of games.

The lore of Splatoon is pretty cool. While I don't play it, I know the actual lore. It's basically where the world went to war again, melted Antarctica with a warhead, the world flooded, scientists tried to cryogenically freeze and preserve their bodies, but all failed except a cat that was also frozen. Sea creatures thrived and evolved into more humanoid forms. There's a lot more, but that is the bare bones synopsis that doesn't actually spoil the actual story of either 1 or 2. It's just the background of the world.

Im the polar opposite. I played over 500 hours, Xrank in all modes and... i don't care about the lore one bit (dont think I finished the solo campaign). Gameplay is where it's at baby!
Dee Bee Geek, trust me, as a massive monster hunter fan myself, I do not recommend starting with the oldest games. The monster hunter games are similar to that of legend of Zelda, where the stories aren't connected game by game, each individual game tells their own story. You starting with Breath of the Wild was a very smart choice as its the newest and has the most quality of life and finest details, and I have to recommend a similar strategy if you want to get into monster hunter. I highly suggest world or rise as they are the newest and the most newcomer friendly, And with time you can slowly work your way down to older and less forgiving games. I would love to see you as a new face to the monster hunter community, so I am trying to make sure you don't get discouraged by all the incredible jank the old games contain.

100% agreed. I always recommend starting with the latest game in the series and working your way backwards if the series piques your interest. There's definitely some things the older games offer that the newest ones don't, but the jank and overwhelming difficulty in the older games can be a major turnoff to newer players.
The Voice of Cards game is actually made by the director of the Nier series with music by the same composer. I probably wouldn't give it a chance otherwise, but I may have to after knowing that.
The 3ds music controls pissed me off so much. Not due to song memorization (once you realize the notes ascending corresponds with the buttons going left to right starting with L -> R, it gets easier), but because the absolutely could've kept the controls similar to to the original. ABXY would be the C-buttons and L would be the N64 A button. Hell, they could've even used the D-Pad like a lot of OoT/MM romhacks use for other things, but noooo.

The lightning isn't redundant, the sky is dark enough to where catching only glimpses of his form was actually helpful and intimidating. I understand this darkening and shrouding ganon in mostly shadow was to keep the game running, but turning down the lighting made the final fight even better imo. even if that's not what they intended, the fight itself and lighting made the final boss what it is.
You should really get splatoon2 (not worth waiting for 3 to star experiencing the series) I suggest doing a couple of the campaign levels to have a basic understanding of the control. There’s special modes outside the regular mode that you need to be at least LV5 to play. Also I heavily suggest getting and at least finishing the octo expansion DLC (first because it’s great and second, finishing this DLC is the only "legal" way to play as an octoling in splatoon2)

You always talk about how wholesome nintendo games are when youve played some of the other games...... yet animal crossing is the most wholesome nintendo can get. While seeing gameplay and trailers of it might not look appealing actually playing it you might fall in love. I dont think its stream worthy content though some people would probably like to see you play it. If anything streaming the intro maybe. But its not action pack engaging gameplay but it is fun an addictive in a more casual wholesome way. Its a huge franchise for a reason. Hell even pewdiepie thought he would hate it until he actually played it and found himself getting hooked

Just play the game yourself. Also everything hes playing has a world to it and lore and history. Animal crossing is just a cutesy sim game. I recently got converted to Monster Hunter thanks to some friends. Monster Hunter Rise is my current Game of the Year and have spent so many hours laughing as I hunt with friends. The DLC is a massive expansion if its like the previous games, near doubling the boss count and more locations. Its gonna be a blast

But i hope DeeBee doesn't make the mistake to try and play through Monster Hunter games in order. I love Monster Hunter and i played every game that released in the west since the first one, but oh my god Monster Hunter 1 didn't age well. It really, really didn't.

Between staying up for the Twilight Princess stream and only getting a handful of hours (if even that because I suck at falling asleep) of sleep before watching you react to the Direct, I'm *exhausted.* ✨Totally worth it.✨
I've seen so many people react to the mario movie cast and immediately burst out into laughter from how ridiculous it is, but this is the only streamer I've seen that got...excited. He looked genuinely happy and in awe at the cast choices and it was so strange but refreshing to see someone enjoy it rather than mock it.
Not everyone who laughed was mocking it. Most ppl were just incredulous. There’s a lot of stuff that makes up exactly why the whole thing is hilarious. The state of the animation industry, the ridiculousness of famous actors who are comedians in these roles, actors who have their faces already made distinct in roles that are already distinct like pushing a square block into a round hole, the actor’s associations with different projects, the translator saying “so cool” & “____ san”, the images they chose & the fact we got them in a Nintendo direct, illumination being illumination which means we get a cheaply animated movie with all these unnecessary celebrity voice actors, & Mario’s creator (forgot his name, Miyamoto?) banning new characters from paper Mario & other things but letting & wanting this to happen.
I couldn’t watch with y’all live when it started as I had a Dungeons and Dragons game with my dad and sister ^^ Just got back and happy to see I can experience this with y’all, after the fact
I hope I can see Dee playing the original Paper Mario (N64) someday... That'd be very interesting to watch, and it didn't seem like he's played before. That game is my absolute favorite. One of the many reasons why is because it has the best epilogue of all the Nintendo games I've played. Yes, even when counting Zelda Skyward Sword. That game is kind of a "Hero's Journey" and I love the way you can enjoy the post-game after the final boss battle, and the callback to the prologue. I wish more games did that. To me that's "the" canonical Mario-character-arc story.
@@msacca You can hang around for a while in Toad Town after the final boss battle, talk to characters, before the parade sequence and credits. Princess Peach throws the party again - the one that Bowser interrupted in the prologue - but this time everything happens as it should; plus you made friends along the way (the characters you talk to in the party were a bunch of unknown random people in the beginning, but now you know them from your journey). I was referring to that. It comes full circle.

My reactions: - Seasoned monster hunter here, "Sunbreak" = get on the hype train - _Chocobo Racing_ was one of my FIRST games on Playstation 1, SO MUCH nostalgia - Hoping the final Smash fighter will be an awesome pick - Metroid Dread trailer actually didn't show anything new/important but I understand the desire to not get oversaturated with prerelease info - Bayonetta 3, "unfashionably late" but looks amazing (aside: that yellow dog costume was "Lappy" from Platinum's previous Nintendo title, _Astral Chain)_ - What else was in this Direct again?
When they showed witch time and the new outfit for Bayonetta, I got out of my chair, started jumping up and down, and screamed with joy for the next 15 minutes. And I am so sorry to my neighbors that were around at the time.
Monster Hunter is a very big investment, especially if you start off with World and it's Iceborne expansion. Fun game and epic monsters, but it's just one of those games where the end never really seems to be in sight. Always a new monster, always a new rank, always a new quest. I've logged in 500+ hours and I still have a multitude of monsters and variants I haven't even faced off against yet. So if you start Monster Hunter, be prepared for a very long climb. Also, I would love to see you go through Bayonetta. It's one of mine and my husband's favorite games. It's just crazy over-the-top fun action. You like DMC, you'll more than likely love Bayonetta.
Dee playing monster hunter rise would be pretty dope actually Especially with mh games not being connected in anyway story wise so he doesn't even have to worry :)

It would be weird to have Mario speak full sentences no matter who voiced him. Also, I like that he’s going to have some surprise cameos. Besides, even if the voices don’t match (I doubt it will be that bad), it won’t change how the rest of the movie turns out. For this type of movie, I’m mostly interested in the designs of the characters, animation, and story.
As someone who isn't usually interested in FPS or other shooter-type games, I can highly recommend giving the Splatoon series a chance. The main multiplayer mode isn't 'kill the other team'-focused (though that can help), and that helped intrigue me enough to try it. It'd be interesting to see you possibly react to all the Splatoon trailers... and also the in-game lore. Besides the multiplayer content, it also has a fair bit of single-player, especially in Splatoon 2 with its Octo-Expansion DLC, if you do decide to give the games a try (though the Octo-Expansion can get... rage-inducing at a couple points, speaking from experience).
That’s the first fully 3D Kirby game ever and I‘m absolutely ready. I always love the depressing/existential lore that’s always in these games hidden behind pause screens in extra modes lol. But the overall vibe in these games except the final boss is always a delight
this morning I watched that Nintendo Direct, bought like $200 worth of digital most of which were pre-orders, and then played the Demo to Voice of Cards and I super loved every second of it Voice of Cards is like playing a D&D Campaign using cards to depict everything ;D
Finally the N64 on the Switch Online! Awesome! And together with the Genesis! Now the retrogamer in me just needs the Atari 2600 and the Sega Master System to be 100% satisfied! :D

You may wish to know that Mario has talked before..many times in the older cartoons: The Super Mario Bros Super Show, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario World. So a voice that's not Charles Martinet is not that unusual, and if you haven't seen anything of those cartoons, they're definitely worth a look :D
Welcome to the Nintendo pipeline. There's no getting out. Super happy to see these reactions, they've made my day and are amazing And as for Monster Hunter, I highly recommend Rise. It is my personal favorite MH game, as a longtime fan, and it is the best entree point for newcomers. And with this huge upcoming expansion, there'll be a shit load of content. If you want better performance, I'd wait for the PC release, but switch is definitely not a bad option. If you do rise, you'll also be hopping on the bandwagon and hype train for sunbreak and experience it fresh. It's one of my favorite games of all time and it is the best combat I have ever experienced, and the monster designs are on point. I know you'd love it, and if rise is out of the option, world is still an extraordinary game But regardless of what you end up playing, I'll be here to support and watch it! Hope you have the best time with your future plans ❤

Definitely go for a Bayonetta 1&2 playthrough. Both are available on the Switch as a pair, totally worth the money.

Bayo 1&2 would fit your streams for sure, they're not very long games and are super fun.
Imagine Dee playing Ecco the dolphin... That would make the Metroid frustration outbursts look like a light summer breeze. XD

Monster Hunter Rise is my current Game of the Year and have spent so many hours laughing as I hunt with friends.
The DLC is a massive expansion if its like the previous games, near doubling the boss count and more locations. Its gonna be a blast
For sure. Also check out World, personally i like World a little better than Rise, although Rise is really good too. But i hope DeeBee doesn't make the mistake to try and play through Monster Hunter games in order. I love Monster Hunter and i played every game that released in the west since the first one, but oh my god Monster Hunter 1 didn't age well. It really, really didn't.
Honestly kirby and the Nintendo online update were the only things that interest me. Now all we need are gamecube and dreamcast and we're golden.

I've seen so many people react to the mario movie cast and immediately burst out into laughter from how ridiculous it is, but this is the only streamer I've seen that got...excited. He looked genuinely happy and in awe at the cast choices and it was so strange but refreshing to see someone enjoy it rather than mock it.
Not everyone who laughed was mocking it. Most ppl were just incredulous. There’s a lot of stuff that makes up exactly why the whole thing is hilarious. The state of the animation industry, the ridiculousness of famous actors who are comedians in these roles, actors who have their faces already made distinct in roles that are already distinct like pushing a square block into a round hole, the actor’s associations with different projects, the translator saying “so cool” & “____ san”, the images they chose & the fact we got them in a Nintendo direct, illumination being illumination which means we get a cheaply animated movie with all these unnecessary celebrity voice actors, & Mario’s creator (forgot his name, Miyamoto?) banning new characters from paper Mario & other things but letting & wanting this to happen.
I LOVED the fact that you used Sonic Unleashed music during the last few minutes of the video. Sonic Unleashed is my favorite Sonic game ever!

That'd be very interesting to watch, and it didn't seem like he's played before.
That game is my absolute favorite. One of the many reasons why is because it has the best epilogue of all the Nintendo games I've played. Yes, even when counting Zelda Skyward Sword. That game is kind of a "Hero's Journey" and I love the way you can enjoy the post-game after the final boss battle, and the callback to the prologue. I wish more games did that. To me that's "the" canonical Mario-character-arc story.
There isn't a post-game in the OG Paper Mario, it rolls credits and you can't continue.
@@msacca You can hang around for a while in Toad Town after the final boss battle, talk to characters, before the parade sequence and credits. Princess Peach throws the party again - the one that Bowser interrupted in the prologue - but this time everything happens as it should; plus you made friends along the way (the characters you talk to in the party were a bunch of unknown random people in the beginning, but now you know them from your journey). I was referring to that. It comes full circle.
@@geekley Gotcha! Yes, I love those elements a lot, I have such nostalgic memories of being excited to return to Toad Town after each chapter to see new NPCs and how their dialogue has changed since last time haha. Really put a nice Bow on the conclusion of the story
For the record, Aria of Sorrow is one of the great pinnacles of the Search Action genre, and should absolutely be played if you're considering it.
I was really hoping they'd put out a Zelda collection with OoT, MM, WW, and TP all with graphics upgrades. I wonder if they changed direction and will just be doing this subscription based access to original versions instead?

Monster Hunter is a very big investment, especially if you start off with World and it's Iceborne expansion. Fun game and epic monsters, but it's just one of those games where the end never really seems to be in sight. Always a new monster, always a new rank, always a new quest. I've logged in 500+ hours and I still have a multitude of monsters and variants I haven't even faced off against yet. So if you start Monster Hunter, be prepared for a very long climb.
Also, I would love to see you go through Bayonetta. It's one of mine and my husband's favorite games. It's just crazy over-the-top fun action. You like DMC, you'll more than likely love Bayonetta.

Splatoon is a ton of fun, and I’d recommend getting 2 since 3 is gonna be a while and 2 is a ton of fun anyway. The dlc is a total blast.

It would be weird to have Mario speak full sentences no matter who voiced him. Also, I like that he’s going to have some surprise cameos. Besides, even if the voices don’t match (I doubt it will be that bad), it won’t change how the rest of the movie turns out. For this type of movie, I’m mostly interested in the designs of the characters, animation, and story.
The editing and upload time is incredible my guy! Also, I'm hyped for nearly everything in the second half of the direct!
As someone who isn't usually interested in FPS or other shooter-type games, I can highly recommend giving the Splatoon series a chance. The main multiplayer mode isn't 'kill the other team'-focused (though that can help), and that helped intrigue me enough to try it. It'd be interesting to see you possibly react to all the Splatoon trailers... and also the in-game lore. Besides the multiplayer content, it also has a fair bit of single-player, especially in Splatoon 2 with its Octo-Expansion DLC, if you do decide to give the games a try (though the Octo-Expansion can get... rage-inducing at a couple points, speaking from experience).

That’s the first fully 3D Kirby game ever and I‘m absolutely ready. I always love the depressing/existential lore that’s always in these games hidden behind pause screens in extra modes lol. But the overall vibe in these games except the final boss is always a delight
this morning I watched that Nintendo Direct, bought like $200 worth of digital most of which were pre-orders, and then played the Demo to Voice of Cards and I super loved every second of it Voice of Cards is like playing a D&D Campaign using cards to depict everything ;D
Finally the N64 on the Switch Online! Awesome! And together with the Genesis! Now the retrogamer in me just needs the Atari 2600 and the Sega Master System to be 100% satisfied! :D

You may wish to know that Mario has talked before..many times in the older cartoons: The Super Mario Bros Super Show, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario World. So a voice that's not Charles Martinet is not that unusual, and if you haven't seen anything of those cartoons, they're definitely worth a look :D

And as for Monster Hunter, I highly recommend Rise. It is my personal favorite MH game, as a longtime fan, and it is the best entree point for newcomers. And with this huge upcoming expansion, there'll be a shit load of content. If you want better performance, I'd wait for the PC release, but switch is definitely not a bad option. If you do rise, you'll also be hopping on the bandwagon and hype train for sunbreak and experience it fresh. It's one of my favorite games of all time and it is the best combat I have ever experienced, and the monster designs are on point. I know you'd love it, and if rise is out of the option, world is still an extraordinary game
But regardless of what you end up playing, I'll be here to support and watch it! Hope you have the best time with your future plans ❤
