Trent Harris is a rad guy. Not only for this and Rubin And Ed, but because he replied to my email when I asked if He had any copies I could buy. He sent me both vhs. When I still had the vhs.
Crispin is just an absolutely fascinating guy. It would be so easy to see his entire energy and presence as 2 dimensionally comedic if it weren't for how utterly honest his performances are.
I wonder what the real Olivia Newton-John thought of this?! The song he sings is kind of an obscure Fan Favorite album track of her's! So this clip is very interesting to me lol
I think drag queens should sing, not lip sync. Like, if you wanna be the best drag queen. It makes it much more of a legitimate art form rather than a novelty. That's just my opinion.
Wow... this was neat seeing Crispin in makeup and a wig! I think it is interesting to see guys in drag sometimes: Jack Lemmon on "Some Like It Hot", Bruce Davison on the "An Unlocked Window" episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, the character Kenny Hampton on "Terror Train". And these are just a few examples.
I had this movie on VHS when you could only get it from strange people on the internet sending it to you. I don't like the rest of the trilogy because it makes it seem like this light hearted silly thing about a guy who just wanted to get on TV (even though the real guy this is about killed himself) but this segment seemed to have real emotional depth to it.
Some of the most honest acting I've ever seen. There is no 'joke.' There never is with him.
I love these movies so much.

The emotion in this is wonderful

He didn't kill himself he died of a heart attack in 2009
he tried to kill himself at one point though. He survived, obviously, and loved the trilogy when he saw it at Sundance.
someday we need a crispin glover/harmony korine collaboration
