About time. Glad to see Hilti covering their bases with the Nuron. Even Festool felt the need to bring out a cordless recip. It's frustrating to have to run 2 to 3 different brands to cover areas and that's before we get to the compromises over the same tools between different brands. Thanks for the video - it's a great intro.

      I agree
      I looked at
      Festool
      Makita
      Milwaukee
      Bosch
      For sliding miter saw
      I need a 7.25 " slider for trim work.
Ruled out festool feel more for furniture and cabinets
Milwaukee is okay not enough cut capacity
Metabo is 1,200 yet offers a lot.
      Makita is the winner.
Asked Hilti to make a cordless slider earlier this year, said consider it.
Then late dinner asked Hilti to make 7.25 slider
Was transfered to support he listened and made notes.
See if it comes out soon.

@@jeffalan6339Hilti listens. I love that. If you compare Makita and Milwaukee: Makita is way more expensive under the hood. Name brand parts where Milwaukee is just scary at times. However, Milwaukee kills Makita in the US. How come? Easy. They send out reps that ask customers what they need. Makita sends a bimbo every once in a while.

This saw looks a lot like my Makita, only in red. Lots of similarities like the slides, handle position, rear arm design, etc. The shadow line is an improvement over the laser Makita uses tho.

Not sold on battery bench tools, especially expensive ones. I have a graveyard of drills and saws because batteries had been discontinued. Yet, my corded tools will work till they die, not when a manufacturer obsoletes them.

Thanks again Rob and team for the information.
At 47 ,my saw doesn't leave its rolling stand unless stairs are involved.
For a folding stand, the top is very wide without providing any benefits.
Looks like it takes up extra room when stored sans saw.
I do like the shadow light, honestly should be standard on every mitersaw.
Re; tailswing it has never been an issue.
Junked a 12yr dw708 because of motor failure, but had no issues from its depth.
Have a Festool (terrible handle),and 2 Bosch X-glides at work (saws try to push the saw up and towards you while cutting.
Whatever gain in depth, is lost in safety and production.
Hilti has become much better at being accessible for smaller companies, and bringing more tooling to the market.
That being said as a sole person in my trim business, the lack of availability (60 miles to the closest store),and lineup ...it doesn't work for me.
    12v Bosch, Milwaukee, and Metabo.
18v Ryobi, Ridgid, Makita, Metabo, Fein, and Milwaukee are enough to keep up with.
Competition is always good for the marketplace, and who knows when they could release a new tool that could fill a need in my business.

To lower they weight the could make the saw section remove off the miter portion then that could me modular for other size heads to be attached or new tool concepts. Oscillating chop blades as a future cutting method.

Looks like the Makita with a lot more mass (and weight).

They need to make a seven and a quarter version that’s the way battery chop saws r going , lighter more portable thus more user friendly and they virtually perform every task needed in fit outs because of the width they can cut hilti will definitely b missing a trick if they don’t make the baby brother honestly the seven and quarter is definitely taking over site work from what I’ve seen that said it looks a quality saw ( u wouldn’t expect anything less with hilti) and I love the bevel adjustments that r all at the front of the tool so much easier to work with but u know this thing is gonna b bank breaker ,double expensive

  • @default9740

Nice looking tool. They really should try to make the variable speed low enough for a cold cut metal cutting blade (for steel). I’ve converted a Dewalt Flexvolt saw for that, it’s a very handy feature, with the growth in steel framing, and also steel lintels becoming common here in New Zealand.
The saw itself looks well designed, especially the bevel adjustment levers being at the front.
Wonder if the dust extraction is any good.

Here's what I want in a miter saw.
    1. 10" - 7.25" Won't cut thick material, 12" is too heavy.
    2. Forward rails - Super important when using in a shop
    3. AC/DC - Seems like a no brainer
    4. Light weight but sturdy
    5. Eliminate nooks and cranies - Smooth surfaces to adjust easy and easy to clean.

I have to say - I don’t think anyone makes a stand that transports well - none of them hang on the wall well, side in the truck or van well, fold up without being flipped a few times, have extensions that fold up out of the way for transport etc - if someone would just put the same amount of design into the stand as they do the saw I would pay for it even if it cost more than the saw. I have tried the Bosch - it’s better than most but not really compact

Looks like Hilti are starting to make tools for the sake of making tools now. No innovation in the saw or stand.
I’ve got lots of Hilti and lots of festool. I wouldn’t buy this saw.

Saw looks good, but Stand is absolutely trash though.
