Until it happens again the main story, we can't assume its true... RbD does work inside the library, since Subaru already died there, killed by Elsa in Season 2 Episode 7. Betelgeuse and the cultists can also smell miasma, it seems, not only did Betelgeuse reference it multiple times, but the cultists also respected and bowed to Subaru due to his smell. Ah, Witchbeasts can also smell it, such as the White Whale. And Shaula perhaps can, but this is a stretch. She recognized Subaru's smell = Flugel's, but it doesn't mean that she was able to sense the "Witch Miasma" part of the smell... great video!!

And the library was not at it's pocket dimensional form as elsa opened all the doors of the mansion and the door was opened as well. I do think cultists have a kind of similar thing to beako, they know the relation but can't accurately smell it like Rem and the others, and witch beasts, well, I didn't count them, Shaula is apart of that case so yeah.. Flügel means wings in german. Contrary to those (like flügel) who are connected to the witches cult which have named based on stars. Which is weird because subaru also is named after stars

I'm a bit late to the discussion I know, but if I remember correctly, the reason why the WC was able to take the oni village by surprise was explained in the side story 'Oni Sisters of the Hidden Village' (by the way in this side content we also discover that even Reinhard can at the very least percieve miasma)
Flugel's name is written in not only Japanese, but Katakana. Which would imply that they are NOT Japanese! If they were, their name should've been written in Kanji, or at least Hiragana. Katakana is used for foreign names. My guess is they used Katakana because that's readable to the original Japanese audience. I don't think it has anything to do with their in-story origins. The reason for the Japanese influence they impressed upon their friend might be as simple as they were an otaku that was obsessed with Japanese/anime culture. Lol at least, that's what I think.
In the novels, every time Flugel is mentioned it's written in the exact same way as in the tree "フリューゲル", even when mentioned by characters like Petelgeuse. And in the novels there are multiple times where the author changes the usage of words in Japanese to better represent something related to the same character. Even some Japanese struggle reading the novel due to the complexity of words, so I'm not really sure if it was for the audience appeal. Plus it's possible his name is not Flugel either, but an alias (and I strongly believe on that theory). The evidence is that he himself wrote it, which by it is already enough for me to believe he's from Japan, and I feel like it's a big stretch to think he was an otaku who learned Japanese writting and culture to the point he could implement it in a new world. In fact, we never saw it but I remember Ram mentioning she have seen characters similar to what Subaru was writing back in Arc 2 (he was scribbling "Subaru was here!" just like flugel did on the tree), which may hint towards some scriptures in Japanese in that world, and Japanese is a hard language for foreigners to master. I just noticed in S3 episode 2 Sirius vs. Reinhardt. He didn't use his sword cause its too dangerous because of mana sucking. But I'm curious if he uses it, will Sirius unable to use her ability or nah?
@@Andrefox29 Authorities do not require mana, and the sword itself has will and chooses if the opponent is worth of unsheathing it, in season 1 we saw that he used a normal sword against elsa because she was not "worth" his actual sword

They were meant to track the scent and fight whatever has it, so there was no reason for them to flee when they were attacked, they were probably overwhelmed.
