Insurance in florida takes everything and pay nothing
Same in TX.
That's because they cannot drive in Florida I've never been so scared to drive in my life and I drive a Transit bus for a living so now I actually had to get a rental in Florida for a few days ohmygod I just knew somebody was going to hit me😂
Ins is going up nationwide. Its all planned destruction.
@@Kazeshini6 same in CA and now theyre all going to az and tx.
Insurance period in FL. Home insurance is through the roof - 7k a year for a beat up house in the stix, let alone something nice. And that's not even covering medical costs. FL has some of the most expensive medicine in the US. I actually visit relatives out in other parts of the US for anything that's not an ER visit. The airfair + out of pocket is half of what I'd be charged in FL.
For perspective, I left Texas paying 2700 for a 3bed 4bath in Houston and that’s what I pay now for my 1 bed in NYC
Why did you leave? Did you get good job opportunity in NYC?
@@latashaallana7252 I did, took a while after school, and I’m still paying off loans but yes I have the best job I’ve ever had now
$2700 for 1 bedroom sounds kinda cheap for NYC though?
@peaceful_chaos14 Notice how the original commenter said "1 bed" and didn't specify if there was a bathroom. It's possible it's one of those apartment setups where multiple units share a bathroom. In that case, 2700 is in range depending on what part of the city. I personally wouldn't live in NYC.
@cyclicmusings2661 That person is most likely making a lot of money than they were in Houston. Given the crime rate in Houston, auto theft, property taxes, insane health insurance premiums while getting worse healthcare than NYC, extreme heat and storms, tough to see Houston fairing that much better. Only selling point is warmer winter lol
With Florida you get beaches, with Texas you get mud flats
Texas has a ton of beaches believe it or not
Mud flats with tar in them. Galveston Beach is garbage lol
@@robertn.4329 Galveston isn’t the only beach in Texas.
@@robertn.4329 and Florida has dirty ass beaches and swamps, If you want a Texas beach try port Aransas or courpus Christi
@tylerzuniga2231 I don't think I've been to Miami is it bad right now or nah?
Property Tax More like 6-7K in Texas.
Live in big city you get big taxes.
Same in Florida. It’s based on purchase price. If you buy a $500k home taxes are closer to $12,000 not $2000. I bought my house in 2015 for $238k and my taxes are $4k. You can look up any house on the county property appraisers website and most have a purchase price calculator.
That is still quite low, I pay 15k in NJ.
that really depends on your location. owning a house in big city close to big governmental infrastructures are like paying rents monthly
I'm sick of these videos with no research. Property tax in Texas is easily 7k for a 400k home which is prob the median in middle to big cities now. If 7k, you're lucky. In Dallas b/4 they gave higher exemptions starting 2023, I paid 9k.
Florida is slowly becoming a "rich people only" type of state
you can thank californians
Yup the real median income is less than 40k a year per individual. 2/3 of the workforce is making an average 36k a year or less. They average out all the highest earner salaries to make the median income look higher so they can justify the rent prices. I know people who work 2 full time jobs and are still homeless.
Air condition bills are enough to kill you in Florida 😭🤣
You’re right in rent. Here in Florida, a crappy, falling apart apartment can go for 1k a month.
1k???
We haven’t had rents as low as 1k in palm beach county in years
$1800 in miami for a "studio" of you get lucky ( in a bad neighborhood of course, on Brickell its atleast $2500 for a studio easy)
$1700 Panama City beach it’s crazy
$1000 rent for an one bedroom apartment?
That’s a great one. Try California where one bedroom apartment is 2-3 times more.
lol a crappy room in Canada can reach $1000
The one bedrooms here are $1900-$2000 Orlando area FYI
tampa one bedroom starts at $2,100
@@petdoctor3tampa is a little more out of control lately
South florida you can be in the ghetto for 1900… if you want nice $2,100+

Dont try to live beyobd your means in fancy highend areas. Most decent 1bdrms in OR in a decent safe area are 1300-1400/mo. Tx getting worse because CA all moving to tx with their politics, crime, traffic. Its similar in FL but not half as bad as tx.
In Florida we're bordered by oceans on 3 sides, Texas is bordered by illegal immigrants from all over Earth
You act like Cubans and Haitians don’t wash up to shore in Florida everyday
@@OJdidit93905Exactly!!
Cubans don't consider themselves immigrants since most have light skin 😂
And you got all the Cubans, Haitian, and Puerto Ricans in Fl 😂
@@idealthinker77Dominicans to
@@idealthinker77someone tell OP about all the Haitians, Mexicans, Dominicans, and Brazilians and more that come here illegally or overstay their visas
Don’t forget to live somewhere that makes you happy because without your happiness, your health deteriorates, and then you die and then none of it matters
Florida rents are going up while wages stay low ! Unless you plan to buy a house cash or have several roommates it ain’t gonna work !
That’s 90% of the country at this point. Even my small home town has rent as high as $1200, pre- covid I paid $730 for the same place. And trust me, wages have not climbed more than $2-3 since then if that.
@@caleb2507exactly I have literally not seen someone complain about their city having a high cost of living, and I'd rather Florida over a lot of these other places with high cost of livings

Very subjective. You live in south Florida, it’s going to cost you. Live in the panhandle, not as bad. Property taxes crush you in TX more so than FL. Both have zero state income tax which is a plus.
Property taxes are higher in Texas, but the homes are also larger and cheaper than in Florida. So when including the mortgage and insurance payments along with property taxes, it would still be cheaper to buy a home in Texas.

Where, indeed. Based on a 2019 survey by the Fed, the mean/median for each state is:
FL: $410,000/$95,770
TX: $340,000/$90,390

As a Floridian, go to Texas and I don’t mean this a “FlOrIdA iS fULl” thing. We get hurricanes all the time. Just now, we’re getting one sometime this week. This may or may not mean that your employer has to shut down for the whole week. If you get flooded, you’re not leaving your house for 3 days. If you’re employer is decent, they’ll pay you to sit at home, if not, your out of a paycheck for a week or two. Seriously, I know TX has its issues, but it’s definitely a better move.
