I've thrifted several wooden match boxes. I use them for matches by the fireplace, for trailing artificial plants or silk or dried flowers and for utensils in the kitchen. I have taper candles in one. One in the bathroom with rolled up hand towel in it. doily draped out of the top of one. doll or stuffed bunny in one.
I thought the dried flower ( lavender maybe with some dried basil near the fireplace would be beautiful in that box and, give the room a beautiful scent. I did think her idea for a curling or flat iron would be great
Julie, you make me think of myself. My dad was a logger here in Arkansas. And ever since I was a kid, the smell of a local sawmill makes me think of him. He used a chainsaw so therefore he always had that sawmill smell when he came home from work. After he passed away, I told mom that I would love to live near that sawmill to have that smell every day. Sweet sweet memories
For the glasses if I'm wrong you could take the camera on your phone go on the left size towards 3/4 down next to take a photo , there will be a little square box hit that , then hit the camera button it will give you name and pictures where you could buy those glasses. Make sure you save it on eBay or wherever you find it or you will have to do it again.
I believe those green glasses are vintage and there might be a pitcher to match. Girl you're after my heart. I live in Oklahoma and love seeing a fresh field full of hay bails. I've stopped on a dirt road on the way home from a milk dairy to take a video of that tall grass that looks like wheat tails blowing in the wind because I loved watching it. Enjoy your videos on both channels. 😊🥰😊🥰
Oh Julie I feel the same way… there is just something about seeing those bails of hay. I also love it when they have just cut the silage and gather it up. Thanks for taking us thrifting have an amazing weekend!
Hey Julie 😊... wonderful finds...thank you so much for sharing and your inspirations once again to incorporate in your home. ❤ FYI - The green glasses are Vintage Soreno Avocado Green Glass by Anchor Hocking...
I’d be willing to bet that one of these days you’ll come across the matching avocado green Soreno pitcher! I’ll be here waiting for that moment! Here in Florida it’s the smell of orange blossoms…heaven on earth!
Hi Julie! Love all of your videos especially when you stop and show us your ideas! The match holder looks great with the spoons,I hope you can rearrange to include the black basket you took down too! They look great together!😍
I love the smell of fresh mown hay. But I also have bad memories of baling hay. It is a lot of hard work. As a kid I helped my grandfather and my brother bale hay. Pulling those rectangular bales out of the baler and throwing them up on the wagon, especially on hot days, really wore you out.
I'm originally from North Dakota, & my Mom still owns the maternal Great-grandparents Farmstead. I can't get back there much now that Mom is 93, so I follow the Sonne channel, even tho' they're in SE South Dakota, it's as close to 'home' as I can get.
Great ideas for the matches holder. You're so creative Julie. So sorry you were unable to buy the lamp shade. Loved it. Hope you and your family have a blessed weekend.
I love the spoons in the matchbox container! I wish the wicker lampshade was still there for you! I love country and primitive also and have a mix in my home. You have many great ideas Julie. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
I like the idea of the wooden spoons in the black box at your kitchen sink. Glad I got to do some virtual shopping at Good Will. I haven’t been in a while. Thanks for sharing.
I think the glasses are Soreno green Anchor Hocking. They go about 15 bucks a glass. I think. Also, I use an office binder holder for my boxes of tin foil, parchment paper, plastic wrap, etc . Works beautifully and holds about 4 boxes, standing straight up in a cabinet.
Hi Julie I love all of your videos also your decorating ideas and country themes. The music in the background is always pleasant and not offensive. It is like sharing your day with a friend as you narrate and share with us.❤
I saw the green tea glasses and knew you were going to get them! I would have gotten them and I don’t even like green like you do 😜 I too have to have a glass that feels good in my hand and I also like to see through my glass. Great haul! BLESSINGS!!!
I love those green glasses. They are from the late 60’s early 70’s. I remember seeing those often in homes we visited while growing up. There is a pitcher that matches. Maybe you’ll be lucky to run across one sometime.
You inspired me !! I just got through cleaning and organizing my lower cabinets and drawers.. whew !! Now,on to the uppers and oven drawer !!❤️❤️❤️thanks for the inspo..
Love the match box by the sink with the utensils! But what I really like is the glassware. We have loads of glassware in our carefully curated, home decor thrift shop!
Love the green glasses. I love that style also. Cup is a fine...love the match holder and how many ways you could style it. I wouldn't of left the parking lot without going in. I mean, come on your there already!!!lol
I do the same thing....drop off at Goodwill then go inside lol. I absolutely love the match box holder in that spot with the tea stirring spoons inside! Keep it there!
Hi Julis, love your channel. There was a beautiful cake stand with cover that you showed, I believe if is called Savannah. I have that exact cake stand and love if, while thrifting I have added several matching pieces and love them all. The 3 glasses that you bought bring back happy to me also. Both of my grandfathers worked for the railroad so I also love trains. Waiting till the next video, Thanks!
That wire shelf is an extra temporary shelf which can be used anywhere you need to have a shelf. I have used seminar units in my kitchen to lift glasses above cups and separate plates by size. Also in my closet to add another layer to my shelf, and yes for shoes or purses. They can get pricy. Great in pantry as well. Wal-mart has some too.
OMG l love the match holder ideas especially for the spoons. I'm kicking myself because l had the same one but only in brass and l gave it away because l didn't want to hold matches by our fireplace any longer. Maybe l can find another one. Thank you for all your great ideas. ❤
We had those green glasses growing up back in the 60’s! They are so pretty! Liked the match box with the spoons. We have hay like that here in Tennessee too! Love your videos
Hi Julie. I love watching your videos ! I got a wood match box holder thrifting and I love your ideas for using it. I have a plant in mine but I am now considering using it for holder wooden spoons. Love seeing you thrift and style!
Julie, I love those green glasses. I look for them all the time. They look like Vintage Anchor Hocking drinking glasses. I too love green. I wish our goodwill prices were as good as yours. I live in Florida, and our prices are crazy expensive. Always enjoy your videos on both channels. 😊
You found some neat stuff. Loved the coffee cup. I need to find some racks to use in my cabinets. I think using your tea stirring spoons in the match holder was neat. l would take a pic of the hay field, get it printed and frame it. It was beautiful... brought back so many memories to me. I enjoyed the video, Julie. TFS
Julie, thank you so much for this video. Have not been out of my house any of this week. Hurricane Debby hit the southeast coast of Georgia and we got LOTS of rain. There was some flooding locally so I’ve stayed at home. Needless to say, I have a big case of “cabin fever”! Will be so happy to get back to my local thrifting haunts, hopefully soon. Hate you missed out on the woven lamp shade. Maybe one day another one will pop up for you.
Great haul. But that field with those hay bell rolls with the fence would make a beautiful picture. I really like that match box metal tin for your tea stiring spoons great ideal 👌 ❤
Girl I had to laugh at your intro since I myself am a thriftaholic. I love your videos you give me such inspiration on how to use my great finds. Thank you so much for your time and the joy that you bring each week!
Ahhh …too bad about the lamp shade.luv the coffee mug . Ah ! I KNEW you’d get the white rack for your declutter binge .nice. Looks really well fitted . Isn’t it weird to see stuff you donated ???? I actually bought a couple things I donated back again ! Bad . I love the spoons inside the matchbox!!! Lots of great creative tips you have for that ! Just noticed the lightbulb in your bottom cabinet. Cool! Nice green glasses- match your kitchen ! They look vintage . Great haul, Julie . Love your home so much …gorgeous hay field. What a nice place to live . Bless you and the family . ❤ Love , Marilyn xx
Hope the scarecrows work for your chickens . We don’t have hawks so maybe they are different than crows, but I do put out a scarecrow every fall and the crows actually love it 😳They come and sit on it 🤣 It’s okay though , I love our crows. They are very smart and so entertaining and we don’t have any animals for them to bother. 😊My brother put some windmills on each side of his chicken coop and their movement keeps the predators away and they look really cute too. 🤔💡Maybe you could put up a scarecrow holding one of those little metal windmills from Dollar Tree in its hand then all your bases are covered 🤣
You can test most glass, crystal and china by resting them in your hand with a flat palm and flicking them. If they ding like a bell, there's no cracks. If they sound dull, there's probably a hairline fracture you haven't seen or a chip. Not sure that a rippled glass would work the same way, but worth a try!
I'm like you Julie, I donated a lot of stuff yesterday and tomorrow I'm going to the thrift store. 🤣🤣 I want to see what fall stuff the thrift store has and of course I will buy something. 😂 I love country scenery, it relaxes me and it's absolutely beautiful.
Julie, what a fantastic video. You found some great items. Sorry you missed that lamp shade. Hope you and your family have a great weekend. God bless and take care. Cookie in Mandeville Louisiana

I am 59 & we had those very glasses when I was growing up! I loved them! That brought back memories ❤
Yes they are vintage but look brand new!
My glasses like those in the 70s were gold colored.
The Olive Green glasses are positive a, vintage Anchor Hocking and, they sell a water pitcher to match and more from the late 70's to early 80's
For the glasses if I'm wrong you could take the camera on your phone go on the left size towards 3/4 down next to take a photo , there will be a little square box hit that , then hit the camera button it will give you name and pictures where you could buy those glasses. Thank you so much!
Oh I understand that too! I mostly drove the truck even as a kid.
I grew up in the country and still love the smell of freshly baled hay.

Oh good tip! Thank you! 😊

Wow...the prices there are crazy high. Four dollarstore pumpkins for $3.49? Wow! That green squat looking gourd was beautiful.
Yep, I live out in the country it's so beautiful out here and I pass a few farms on the way to the main road and see the hay bales.
It’s my favorite!

Lamp shade solution….THINK ABOUT IT IN THE BUGGY !!!😂
I love that type of cup you bought. Great price too.

Yes! Thank you! 😊
My mom had a vase with that same design and it was green too! That was.....awhile ago 😳😁🤣
P.s. i recall those glasses from late 60s. Lucky find.
Those glasses are made by Anchor Hocking, and the pattern is Soreno. There is also a pitcher that matches them.
