Felling a big LOPSIDED pine tree in Southern Kentucky - Episode 397

  • In the process of harvesting logs from a bunch of uprooted trees following a 5-hour wind event in Southern Kentucky where sustained winds of 50 to 75 MPH blew for 5 hours straight, this landowner asked if we would go ahead and take this tree down as well. The problem is that it is lopsided (the majority of the limbs on one side). We managed to find a safe area to drop it without damaging any other trees.

    Glad you survived the storms OK. Don't work too hard cutting those trees! I would love to see some videos from the cabinet shop!

    Miss Good Ole Pin tree's, not that many in Missouri compared to VA, KY and Carolina's etc. Everywhere there.

      Yeah but they got hit harder than any of the other trees here. The majority are uprooted.

    I don't miss my chainsaw at all. I wish you caught that tree setting back up, that would have been fun to watch. Milling video coming soon!

      Yeah we talked about that we wished we caught that on video, and our faces when it happened. 😂 We are considering putting in a mill in the Fall. I don’t yet know what I’m gonna do when I grow up. 😊
