- In this video I show you how to install a Gloss Black grille on the 2015 GMC Yukon XL. This is a pretty straight forward installation, just a couple little tricks you will need to watch for.

When you pulled the driver side of the bumper, a black piece popped out, you showed it 3 times in your video, did that break or was that supposed to happen? Other videos says there are three 7MM screws that need to be removed, is that so or do you just pull the bumper to release? Thanks for the video, awesome work.
😅 that black piece was part of the bumper clip system, it was not supposed to break, but they fatigue and fail from time to time, it is not a big deal as the clips with the screws work together to hold the bumper on.
There are several 7mm screws on this bumper and just about everywhere else on these GM vehicles, they must have gotten a really good deal on these 😅. Thank you for the feedback 👍🏾

For those two rivets you cut off, how did you replace those rivets or did you put in nut/bolt combination? If so, what size nut/bolt did you use?
I used a two piece push clip that I found on Amazon, they have them at local part stores as well.

If you wanted to do gloss black fog light covers, are those chrome ones easy to pop off? Asking for a friend lol. I want to do mine in gloss black around the two fog lights. Hoping front bumper doesn’t need to come off. Looks like they just pop in and out?
These do pop off, but you would do best removing them with the bumper cover off. Or you can wrap them in gloss black vinyl. I plan on using smoke black vinyl on these.

Those tabs at 9:15...you have to push up from the bottom.
Great video! Looks a lot better. Those pickup style factory grilles don’t look good on a Yukon. Chevy did better in this case.
Thank you, my wife likes it much better. I agree that this factory grille from GM was a little blah, even the Denali grille was a bit boring. This has been a nice inexpensive update to the front end.
The aftermarket grille is nice but the original looks better on the truck by the way because of its silver brirghtworks that matches with other silver colors accents elsewhere.

Nice video. Wonder if it's impossible or just next to impossible to work from the top grill clips down to remove the grill without removing the front bumper? Any thoughts on that?
Great question! I do not see removing the grill without removing the bumper cover. It takes a lot of flexing of the bumper cover to get the grille out. And the ones at the bottom of the grille were tough even with the bumper cover off.

That's right your Elevation comes with the blackout grille from the factory 😅. The work has already been done for you.
I know it's to late now but I wish I could of seen how to take out that farthest 7mm that's tucked behind the bumper I gave up ig on to the shop ill pay them for their headache..lol
I'm sorry, you can use a.1/4" thumb ratchet or about 4 extensions, that one is tricky to get to.
I will have to remove the bumper to take care of some paint work, I will post up a more complete removal video.
