Twas a pleasure! Miss it some days...others I'm glad I'm where I am haha.
Attitude of gratitude. Thank you for your service, bless you and the family.
EXCELLENT video! Don't let the lowest of low comments bother you.
I don’t think you’re an idiot. I appreciate your effort on these videos. Great guidance and informative. As well you’re not selling me something every video unlike the other grass tubers. Keep up the good work and enjoy your vacation.
I do appreciate it! Thanks for watching and commenting too
Mr. Ferg, you don't have to explain most people understand. If that person wants to install a system for you that's great. Good video!
Appreciate it friend.
thank you for serving your country!! your 100% right, I'm in the same bought with our house as well. its pointless to invest in irragation when you plan on moving in the near future. ignore those people. they just like to make rude comments to start and augment
I appreciate it man. Also though, with other stresses of life, I need to just ignore some things lol. There will always be nagging gnats, but I need to give less attention is my point. Thank you though for understanding.
I'm looking forward to the video of the yard when you get back from vacation. Oh, baby I remember the last time. Hope it rains a lot (at the house) while you're enjoying family time.
You are NOT an idiot. Don't let the haters get to you nor do you owe them an explanation. Us regulars know what you're doing. Thank you.
Thank you for being willing to do those experiments, Mr. Ferguson. Your lawn looks amazing, and I was semi-sad when you said you were going to push it, but it makes sense why you are doing it. Thank you for your videos!
Appreciate that!
You are getting close to the point of no return with your experiment. You are very brave for letting it to this point. I’m in coastal NC with St Aug and we need rain!!!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 it’s a shame Mr. Ferguson that you have to explain yourself over something as simple as watering. You keep doing you, and again, thank you for your service to our county but also your service to us through these videos. It’s a damn UA-cam lawn channel, people should show as much passion for areas of this country and world that don’t have water period.
Commander I totally agree with you about Mr Ferguson I couldn't have sAid it any better thank you!
Dont give in to the trolls brother. You do you. I dont have irrigation here in Indiana either and my fescue is the best lawn in my neighborhood.
Thank you for your service God bless you and your family keep sharing your videos has helped me a lot down here in Texas!
I will watch them if no one else will.
I just got back from vacation at the beach. Man oh man do I want some rain right now!
I can believe it
Some of that dryness may also be related to the slope. Maybe aeration on the hill would help.
I seem that comment I justed rolled my eyes! Keep doing what you do love the videos you help me out and many viewer’s. Thanks for your servive and the videos!!
Thank you for everything you do and have done and keep it up please .
My tall fescue is surviving the Texas heat due to having a lot shade and I water every other day and I use Milorganite
You make great points and even though this MAY be my forever home, I probably would never do irrigation due to the extreme cost of water and the tough restrictions on when you can use it. Enjoy the vacation with your family!
Yea, downside of moving is losing g good peeps in the ‘hood. Unless we hit the lottery and can move you too haha.
I'd recommend getting a well dug for irrigation. I wish I did that.
@@jasonfournier I wish that was an option here, but even if it was, I don't know if I would make that investment here.
Shade is key. You should talk about that. The shade makes 100% difference. It is crucial for the summer.
Also dormant grass is normal. Your lawns isnt green but its manicured. The grass protecting itself is natural and perfectly normal. Thank you for your service mr ferguson.
This is true!!
Irrigation is great when it works but can be a poor investment if not installed right. I have an irrigation system for a 4500 sq ft bermuda lawn in northern Louisiana with poor clay soil and extreme summer heat. I bought the house new and had the builder install the sprinkler system thinking that would solve those issues. Knowing what I know now I would have skipped the sprinkler system and gotten several of those above-ground traveling sprinklers for the larger portions of the lawn.
No comment lol. Enjoy your vacation!
I’m thankful for your videos. Forget the haters.
Love the content brother. Here in California we're going to be in the 100s for a few days luckily i have a small lawn so watering isn't too big a deal but like you in just trying to keep it from dying lol it's probably going to be inevitable with these heat waves
Be you Mr Ferguson.
Thanks for explanation, but ‘nuf said for those of us that love ya.
haters gonna hate
Be you.
Most new construction puts sod down in the front yard and then they seed the back yard. So you will have the opportunity to do this! I killed off my backyard and did a full reno in the fall back in 2020.
Amen!
I just did a video on my cheap sprinkler system bc I'm not spending that kind of money on an underground system right now. It's my first home..😅 I get it man.
Agree with all you said. My backyard would be very sparse if I didn’t have common Bermuda. My philosophy is I let it come out to play in Summer then let it go back to sleep in fall and let the fescue come back. That way my lawn looks good most of the year.
Mr Ferguson, I’ve had some Bermuda invading my lawn for a few years now. I’ve been applying tenacity at the 4oz/acre rate to suppress bermuda growth. I have pylex waiting to be applied starting in late July. I’ve applied at dusk and Dawn and haven’t had any issues with the grass being affected outside of slight bleaching and drought issues. Just an fyi.
Great to hear, and thanks for the advice. I may need to try this.
@MrFerguson
1. Thanks for serving
2. I renovated over past 2 years, but I'm dead set on just watering once a week. I have small yards. Perennial Rye in front, TTTF in back.
3. Don't have to have irrigation put up. Just need a timers, hoses, sprinklers. Maybe a total of $100-150. I would think for your yards, impact sprinklers bc they can shoot pretty far. Just a suggestion, rather than having to move the sprinkler all the time.
I guess people think moving sprinklers is bad? I don't mind it at all lol. I actually enjoy doing it and watching it hydrate the ground. Call me weird, but it's true. Thanks for the comment man, I appreciate your suggestion.
Hoo wee! Mr. Ferguson got fired up! Thanks for explaining I missed a couple vids so I was wondering why you are pushing it to it's limit.
My lawn is stressed in Virginia too but I'm like you I want to do enough to keep it alive till we get some rain but not have a $600 water bill. Check out a Gilmore pattern sprinkler, Allyn used 1 and you can customize the coverage area, $25. I have 5
God Bless You And Family Enjoy your Vacation and, God Please Send The Rain 🌧 Amen FredLatimore Apex NC
OH !! BTW , Skip the videos & enjoy your vacation!!! Im going out on a limb here but....We will be here when you return!! Thx for the updates on the Albino Fescue , mine is closing in on yours!!
Have an awesome weekend Rob! Thanks for the pep talk sir haha
Enjoy your vacation!
Here in northern Utah, I've been battling common bermuda for the last two seasons in my TTTF. It's labeled as a noxious weed here. It slowly creeped over from the neighbors. Not sure where they got it. Been doing the Fusilade 2 and Turflon Ester mix. It's made a difference but still have a ways to go. Might be time to consider some Pylex. Luckily we have secondary water which is a one time payment each year on our property taxes. So far it's not metered, but it's coming.
“To keep it green… forrr what” 🤣Amen.
Luckily the town I live in in CT charges a fraction of the water bill that they do in neighboring towns. Not sure why, but I’m not complaining lol
I’m the same, can not pay $800 to the city for summer watering. The Lord will provide!
What about rain barrels from your gutters?
That’s a more realistic option, but honestly not likely if I know me. lol.
Im sure you can be an Idiot , I know I can lol, but im with you Bro..look at mine every morning with that lil bit of humidity "dew" on it smh . Im not going broke chasing GREEN!! As nice as you are lol I can appreciate your frustrations with comments !!
Curious are there wells in your area
Yes, but not allowed in my subdivision.
600 for the month??
Water usage and even in ground irrigation costs are for the channel. Is your channel set up correctly as a business entity? Most of those things including products should be tax advantaged then. Wouldn't an in ground system maybe sell your house quicker or even at a small premium?
Yes sir, I hear you loud and clear. Yes we could write it off come tax time sure, but as far as it adding value to the home, to me that would be a big yes, but I've been told by a professional, nope. Just like a swimming pool devalues a home, due to higher insurance and such. That may have been bad advice given to me, but it's what I was told. "The lawn may help it sell a little easier, but it doesn't really contribute to the value of the lot or home". :/
@@MrFergusonLawnThat "pro" clearly doesn't care about lawns, haha. Thanks for your sacrifice and serving for our country.
