I'm just finishing up a 1972 R5C new top end Wiseco first over, split cases to repair 2nd gear problem, solid state reg/rectifier, new clutch chain & sprockets, tires/tubes. brand new made in Vietnam seat (excellent craftsmanship) new front brakes, Has 9,100 miles on it n ow ...very good condition before, mostly the above mentioned repairs...$700 in it before repairs including the new pistons and bore job that came with it......$2600 now. I like it!
This is just great:) you would drive that bike like i would:) i have also a Yamaha r5 but i need to restore it, the engine has to taken appart so its a hell of a job.
Connor Teel, Ok I hope that you can ride your bike soon, it's here in the Netherlands already pretty cold so it's not that great to drive on a bike, I hope I can start soon with the restoration. I need a shed :(
My first road bike was the 250 yds7 and this brings memories back from forty five years ago 👍thanks

Sounds like a fun build! Still my favorite motorcycle to this day… I’ll be on the hunt for another one someday
So nice. I had an RD350B and about to get another smoker. Just gotta remember compared to new bikes you have virtually no brakes.

I got a new 1972 r5c in 72, best mc I have ever owned, and I owned a Kawasaki and Suzuki dealership till 1992

I feel ya. Thanks. I have to rebuild the top end now so i haven't been running it. 10k original non-rebuilt miles so far and its time to take it apart

damn i miss my r5b!
Awesome
Do you have Reed valve on it?
No that was a pretty stock r5b engine. Those dont come stock with reed valves like the rd350
@@connorteel1143 oh ok!!
All the parts on this bike are stock?
Anyone know if you can replace the r5 zylinder by a rd350 zylinder? Greetings from germany😊
Most definitely. The only difference between the 2 is rd350 has reed valves and disk brakes
@@connorteel1143 ok thank you very much.
