They seem to have a very good grasp of it. They will definitely add some more challenging passages. I’m saying this as a good thing but they have maxed out the book already lol they’re insane
Watered down? Naaahhh it’s Crown! They’ll work their behinds off for perfection then throw more in come finals! Their book is absolutely bonkers but those kids bring so much life to it on the field.
@@jiljwcthey actually did simplify the mello part at 5:44 and 5:50. If you watch a video from earlier in the season that little mello moment was only triplets

I could watch them all day. The dance choreography is quite unique, the equipment work, practically flawless, and all of it together accents this music superbly!

I’ve never ever seen someone have head phones on during a show. 😅
So my kid is on the spectrum and very sensitive to loud noises including dci. This is not the first child I’ve seen with headphones on to help reduce the intensity of volume at a show this year. 🙂
Seen it plenty of times. With young kids. 2006 Phantom gave me a headache and ringing in my ears after they performed a standstill.
I've personally struggled with loud noises (on the spectrum) however I refuse to wear ear protection for DCI because I feel it defeats the point of going and the sheer loudness brings a level of energy that makes DCI so enjoyable. Also, unlike NASCAR (which I struggled with, even with shooting range headphones) the noises are music; it's actually pleasant.
Does anyone know what they scored? Haven’t seen it online just yet.

I'm trying to like this show. So far, it is just boring to me. Last year was the same way, but by the end of the year, Crown had my favorite show so who knows?
As a member of last year's hornline, I promise you this show will get 10x cooler by finals

The use of synth in DCI sucks so bad, makes me wish I was alive back when drum corps used G bugles and used nothing but their lungs to blow your face off.

Yeah surprisingly it was not a great run. Maybe they thought its an exhibition and toned it down a bit which is not the right mindset.
It could have been the corps allowing alternates to perform, since it’s an exhibition rather than a scored show.
@@FOSSIL13drums makes sense but just to be real, they should sound light years better than this. I'll wait and see how the hornline cleans up.
I haven't listened to this performance yet, but I think several corps this year have surprisingly weak brass. However, BD and Bloo sound great as usual.
