I havent enjoyed a youtube series like this in a long time, cant remember the last time I would go to someones channel everyday to see if theyve uploaded a new video. The journey has been a ton of fun to watch and theres something really cozy about living in your truck like this. Keep the content coming dude its been great!
You can always wrap stuff in foil and throw it in your fire. Potatoes. Apples (cored with butter/cinnamon/sugar in the hole). Sweet onions. Bananas with a slit down the side and chocolate and peanut butter chips stuffed on the slit.
I am impressed as heck with everything about this journey. From building the rig, exploring the wide open (and not so wide open 😳) spaces, and the camera work. I have seen funded documentaries that don't have as good of drone shots and live footage. Not sure what your career path is, but you got lotsa skills and options my friend!!
Love your vids! Used to use my 96 Taco as my moto adventure truck when it was new and I was your age. As a long time rider just remember to dial back your riding a bit when your on not only new and unkown trails but also alone. Hope your channel grows substantially.
My dad bought the ‘96 with a V6, 4x4 and 5 Speed (A/C too!). I’ve since bought it from him and plan to do the same thing. About ready to give it to a shop along with $10K and say make it mechanically brand new so I can let my kid drive it whenever they are born.
This is the scariest video I've watched about camping in the woods, my heart was beating so fast when you were driving in the dark. I love watching horror movies and I think this is scarier. I was relieved when you found the camping ground but you decided to sleep in the creak, that's a terrifying idea, I hope you are well, I can't wait to see the next video.
I’m a 75 yr old female. I’m a former bike chic who always wanted a dirt bike to explore off road. Still stirs me up. Now I’d settle for camping, hiking and fishing. Really enjoyed your bike ride.
Glad you made it to Mark Twain! Being a Missouri Native (STL Area-ish), the Mark Twain Forest is kinda my go to. Absolutely beautiful area to camp with friends.
Just caught the whole story of building the truck on insta and after watching all that came over here to see the real adventure. This is wonderful! Thanks for sharing it and excited to follow the rest of the journey.
This was great. Feels like I am a part of the journey. Been watching since you started doing work on the truck and haven’t stopped since. I have loved every bit of the journey so far. I never watch 40 minute videos but this was great. You kept me entertained the whole time. Good luck and I look forward to more videos! Keep it up man you are doing great

@SalvagetoScenic you're blowing up like crazy man. Hope we can make this a return of investment for ya so you can eventually make more and more builds, better and better. That would be absolutely amazing man. Glad you're enjoying life and doing you 😊
I have to be honest, I get more excited about your uploads than I did when Mav started his journey! This is Amazing content!. Not taking away from Mav bc he's awesome but I've been on this journey with you from day one and I ain't leaving buddy! Plus I love dirt bikes and it's pretty badass to be carrying one on a Taco across the states.
We usually take a big potato, slice it just about through, put butter between each slice (just a little) then take some Chipotles from a little can and pour some of the juice over the slices. Then maybe 2 or 3 chipotle peppers on top. Wrap it all up in aluminum foil and put it in the coals. Same thing with ground beef or turkey, some onions, carrots, whatever you like. We used to make them in Scouts and we called them hobo meals. Or get a mountain pie maker. Good for hot ham and cheese or even cherry pie filling between two slices of bread. It gets all toasty and it's delicious.
Love the video man. Stay safe out there. I hope you carry but if you dont please get your license and keep some protection on you. Also when solo camping a dog is always a great companion lol Safe travels

Your channel popped up in my UA-cam feed. Probably because I watch Cody and Kellie who have dispersed camped for years now. They finally got a truck with a slide in camper and travel to interesting places like you’re doing. So glad I watched your video! Great vlog dude 👏😎

I absolutely love this channel!!! So wholesome. Feels like you're hanging with your buddy. And the time you put into shots. I want this whole journey made into a movie i can watch over and over
Be sure to turn that light bar off when someone goes by. It's like trying to look into the sun at night. Also be careful building a fire ring with river rocks, they can hold water, heat up and explode. Looks like your having fun though.

However there are a bunch of natural springs....like big springs....you can visit. @@SalvagetoScenicwhat kind of Yamaha is that and what size engine? I thought maybe a YZ but I saw you had it street legal with a plate on it? I’m looking to get into trail riding but also wanted the option of running around town. Thanks for your reply!
It might be ancient coral? Idk. I'm definitely no expert, but you should check out the geological history of some of the places you visit, if you have time. It's always so fascinating.
Dude I got scared as soon as you turned on the dirt road. Ngl I would have gone back to a Walmart or something. 🤣🤣 And OMG you sleeping in that creek not knowing where the hell that other truck went....😱

I feel like I totally connected with you on a deep soul brother level when you looked at the camera and said, "still don't know if this ham is any good or not" and then proceeded to take another bite... My man! Such a dude move.
Hello! First time connecting. I just saw this episode about things got creepy. Wow, yes, a church and a cemetery deep in the forest? That really was strange, all it was missing was an amusement park. Really, really enjoyed this episode, specially the video on the dirt bike, that was awesome. Keep it up! Javier from San Diego, CA

i do a lot of solo traveling and camping, and it can definitely be much creepier when you show up to a spot at night. i still get freaked out or feel uneasy pretty often on my first night out, or first night in a new spot. i find it happens less often the more you do it, but it still happens.
having all your stuff put up, and your vehicle facing towards your escape route is always a good idea, because you never know when something might go wrong. like ya, it's good to be able to get away from a bear or other animal that's a little too inquisitive, but the real dangers when sleeping in your vehicle come from people, and those are the times you will be thankful you had an easy way to leave. also, walking the area, or riding a bike like you did is great because you now know the area and can take an alternate route if someone tries to block your path.
here in the desert we would never park in a spot like that, and definitely wouldn't sleep there. not paying attention in a spot where water is, or that shows signs that water has been there in the past, such as a dried up river bed, arroyo, or low lying area that collects water after a rain, is a good way to get swept away by a flash flood, which could cost you your life.
coyotes are usually not a big threat, but if you run into a group that's hungry, or any number that has rabies, then things can get dangerous.
i had an experience a few years back at a bonfire where i ended up by myself for half an hour or so taking care of the fire while everyone else ran to get extra pallets and more beer and stuff before the stores stopped selling. it didn't take long for me to start hearing little noises all around me. some rocks tumbling down the hill there, something brushing up against a bush over there, more rocks on another hill... little noises and movement everywhere around me. i jumped in the closest car and closed the door right as they came into the light, maybe 2 feet from where i had just been standing. it was a big group of coyotes and they hung around sniffing around the car and all over the area, but kept coming back to the car. they didn't take off until after the first car load of people came back. no one wanted to believe me until they looked down and saw all the paw prints.

Come to the drift-less region (Western Wisconsin)! You will like the bluffs in La crosse Wisconsin, down to prarie du chein. Stop your journey in Madison at Devils lake. Trust me!
This was beautiful in its own right, but imagine the dirt bike content as he gets further West. Loving the journey so far!
Haha yes, this wasn't anything too crazy. Moab certainly should be though! Thank you for being a part of the journey!
@@SalvagetoScenicwhat kind of Yamaha is that and what size engine? I thought maybe a YZ but I saw you had it street legal with a plate on it? I’m looking to get into trail riding but also wanted the option of running around town. Thanks for your reply!
It's a WR250R. Great street legal dirt steed.

Your videos are awesome man. I love that you are taking advantage of your youth! Keep this up seriously. I would much rather watch your videos than stream some of the crap on Netflix!
I feel like I totally connected with you on a deep soul brother level when you looked at the camera and said, "still don't know if this ham is any good or not" and then proceeded to take another bite... My man! Such a dude move.
How fun! “Little Ripper” should be your CB handle/nickname!😂 I look forward to seeing many more adventures from you.
