I think everything is riding on the success of the show and that scares the hell out of me because it's my favorite game franchise of all time and I've been playing since 95.
Hopefully the show is a hit and they announce a new one shortly after the 1st season...It's been WAY too long.
I agree, there needs to be a story mode, without it, they've missed the point and the game isn't TM. How else does someone get good at the game so they don't get destroyed online. I would also love to see this game resemble a TM black sequel. The online component will keep the game relevant for fans beyond the AI playthroughs.
I would like to see a Twisted Metal Black 2 again, but sadly that ship sunk with Harbour City.
Another thing that would have been cool would have been if Jaffe and Campbell got to make their version of Twisted Metal 4 (much like Head-On was their take on TM3)
Would be cool if sony allowed the new TM to be ported into PC since most people don't have a ps5
Yeah we need it on pc indeed if it comes
I have the same opinion as you. lol. 3 & 4 are the red-headed stepchildren, and Black has the dopest vibe. So a Black 2.0 would be ideal. But something a bit more light-hearted like TM2 would be maybe just as cool. TM Black is way too brown, black, and gray after all. Really depressing sometimes.
A rated R twisted metal is not necessary (the game is already very nich and hard to find new players) i think it shoul be like DOOM, colorful but metal as fuc#. And they should bring Mike Gordon to do the soundtrack. They need to make the cars with alot of personality, and i think that "online battle royale" is inavitable. (Twisted metal IS battle royale). But i think they should do like Fall guys, like, instead of have a big map, it could have 5 or 6 maps being playing in the same time, and the, it select how should be in the next stage until only 3 ou 4 players survive for the last stage, and then a BOSS apears, and the one who destroy the boss win the game and can make a "wish" (chose between have a new caracter unlocked or have new costumes or something like that)
I would like to see a new Twisted Metal game that covers all the stages from 1, 2, and Head-On. And see TM: Black with Harbor City remade.
I would like a realistic game mode twisted metal. Where you have to choose weapons, armors, wheels, etc and take a base car and customize it to your play style. With also having ammo racks where you hold a select amount of ammo for the chosen weapons and need to rely on driving next to armored trucks that has to remove and resupply the racks. At the same time more in depth vehicle physics to make it feel like a real vehicle. No spinning around like tank unless you literally have tracks like warthog.
Still I would say this as a realistic contest game mode but still add the arcade physics original contest. That right there is 2 game modes.
Another 2 game modes would be multi-player contests. This is where you have multiple battles take place on maps and have the winners move on to the next map. Making each battle different players. Another idea is the classical battle Royale style with the massive destructible map.
Something else that bothered me that you only see a little of is the police and military. I feel if a battle is taking to long they should start swarming the area to stop the contest. Also would make sense for the prison maps or military base maps to have soldiers or tanks or guard towers etc shooting at the vehicles. This could even both add new environmental weapons or hazards like a bombing run, cruise missile, stolen signal flare for artillery etc.
Lastly going back to my customization, I don't understand why they make cars look so high tech. Like the 2012 bosses were interesting but seemed to over the top and stupid. I feel a lot of the weapons would look more mad max like, like the weapons in crossout. a broken cannon remade to be a shotgun, launching tires filled with explosives, farming flamethrowers, etc. Road boat for example looks cool but then pulls a super magnet out or how sweet tooth is a fucking transformer and has flying heads that goes through everything but cars.
Big points-
1.Destructible maps
2.Customizable vehicles
3.Realistic mode
4.No stupid Gimmicks, more mad max feel with accurate weapons.
5.More police and military involvement, could even make game modes on this.
6.More game modes, more vehicles, more maps, more stories/characters.
7.Not mentioned, but keep it DARK, BLOODY, AND GORY!
I hope but for god sakes don't screw it up and make it online only. Put a proper single player campaign with all the characters and you should have a banger.
How are you playing Head-On in this video? It looks super crisp. I still have my copies on PSP (which died years ago), and PS2, but I don't remember it looking quite this good. 😁
With that said, I actually really loved most of the PS3 version. I loved the bigger levels with TONS of hidden areas and details, which you could play smaller versions of. I loved the controls and gameplay, but I didn't like the "gang" aspect. I like having individual characters, even if that makes a multiplayer game feel weird (lots of Mr. Grimms all in one game, or Sweettooths...teeth?). I also didn't really like how a lot of the car special attacks were just kind of revamped existing weapons instead of being their own thing. Like some cars had specials that were just zoomies, or reticles, etc.
I actually really liked Head-On a lot more in those regards, although my problem with that was cars tended to feel so fast that they didn't really have any weight. It was also way too easy, with so many vehicles feeling like I hit them a few times and they blew up. PS3 had a better health/armor balance I think.
I have 0 faith in Peacock making something good... Almost every Director who has made a movie or show about a video game have done NO homework on the video game they're making content on. Some studio's like the recent Lord of the Rings show that died, even fired their "Lore experts".
A failure with the show will show BIG studios "Look, there is no interest for this video game because of our bad movie/show had no interest".
Even if we did get a Twisted Metal game in the works, it will never be like a classic TM game. The big studio's who would have the rights to make this game focus more on making as much money as possible over making a good game. They will have a mobile-like microtransaction shop that clearly got all of the dev time, and the rest of the game will feel buggy and rushed. That's just what almost all AAA Titles are now. A $70 ability to be funneled into their microtransaction shop.
I know this sounds super DOOMER. But my faith in these giant game/TV media companies has been sanded down to nothing. The only media i've looked forward to for the past several years has come from smaller indie dev's/film crews/animators.
Basically mix twisted metal black and head on (and bits of TM2 and 4) for this TM for the PS5
It can have a dedicated game mode which is basically small brawl
will you make 3d fan made twisted metal game about brand new characters today now yes yes 🤩🤩🤩
It has been in development for a few years now, I just hope its not a PS5 exclusive and comes to PC and not make use wait 2 to 3 years.
I think the ratings don't matter any more the amount of 8 Year Olds kicking my butt on cod I think it would be fine
Not only Ps5 please.. Bring it to pc aswell. Used to play Twisted Metal 4 a lot back in the day. Good times and want to see a new game of it
Man you completely lost me at battle royal mode. I hope that they don't make a cheap cash grab trend game.
Twisted metal 4 was my favorite of all time…..
But I don’t know if you’ll see my message but twisted metal (ps3) was amazing when it comes to story telling and how it they did it and portrayed it up until the fact that you played as the henchmen of said characters I wish it went in the fashion you said each character has its own storyline so if I decide to load up as crimson fury I’ll get his story cutscenes and I guess “maps that are cultivated to him” considering that seems like why tm ps3 only got 3 stories each I person had maps that revolves around said characters story doll face on the bridge brothers Grimm in the city and sweet tooth in the “dark carnival”””
Hard disagree. But that's the beauty of opinions. I don't dislike a single game in the series honestly. Ranking goes
8.TM 4
7. TM Small Brawl
6. TM 3
5. Twisted Metal
4. Twisted Metal 2012 (would be #2 but the damn racing sections and lack of characters)
3. TM Black
2. TM Head On
1. TM 2
Back and Head On are interchangeable depending on my mood. "How homicidal maniac am I feeling today 🤔 "
It makes sense what with the show that's in production
Hope they remake twisted metal small brawl
Finally videos of tm are popping on my feed
Yo have u heard anything new? This is sweet
Wish the newer games were as dark as black
We are getting one and the show is said to tie into it
That's great news love tm
Tv show got good reviews 😊
With how bad TM2012 did, I need to see something to believe it, and I'm guessing if they're riding off the "hopeful" success of the TV show, they're probably gonna base it off the TV show. Which... I mean, I hope it does well and all, but I'm a little worried tbh.
Short answer, no. Long answer, no.
You’re a ret@rd.
Playstation more focused on kissing and following Disney by makeing movies and TV shows now, than to take a gamble on making a new Twisted Metal, and the fact that David Jaffee wants nothing to do with Playstation anymore says alot.
The amount of people who have no idea what they’re talking about here is mind blowing
@@jessejive117 I don't. Can you explain?
A V.R. Twisted Metal might be a dope ass perfect concept for a V.R. game. Most V.R. games suffer with not fun movement mechanics, but in this u could just sit in the car and drive it yourself like any racing V.R. game!
considering how blown away people are by Gran Turismo 7 VR, I think you have a point
I mean, look at The Last of Us Part II (among others), it's an M rated, really mature video game in the likes of a Lars von Trier film and it sell like gangbusters, so a new Twisted Metal which follows that route isn't impossible, plus I think a story mode should be there and evidence point for it to be there, although I think a strong multiplayer or even live service elements are inevitable.
The Last of Trannies 2 may have sold well, sure. But the entire thing was laughable and now it's sole known for the punching/ass-rape meme, the mixed race kid Ellie has, and the girlfriend with the massive nose who looks like a /pol/ meme. So the new TM team has to be very careful not to tread into the "we're laughing AT you, not WITH you" territory.

Wait he confirmed their making a new game!?
