Indeed man, wish we could've played a finished Harbor City. The On-Foot sections looked like a mix of the first 2 Postal games, Manhunt and GTA, the Mission Mode storyline was interesting as hell, could've been so awesome to play with! This makes me sad that it was cancelled.
@@lughzi1591 Honestly, that's sounds like it should be it own thing rather than a twisted metal game, overall a open world twisted metal game doesn't sound like a bad idea. It's was just at the wrong time.
Good question. That's because originally in the mission mode storyline, Needles was somehow captured again and taken to Blackfield Asylum once more, during his new stay at the nuthouse, he met a sketchy rich doctor called Becker, who was interested in how much prowess Needles had for killing and thinks of repurposing him as a henchman, either for himself or for the government, so for that purpose, he designed the military-grade chip for shock treatment and mind control induction. But after some time, Needles's curse was so strong that it overcame the device but at the cost of warping his perception of reality (hence why this game would've had a more expansive color palette than the tints of gray and brown from the first game), nevertheless, he was in a fit of rage, and the asylum guards subdued him, and were ordered by Becker to drop him into the vat of acid, as Kane was now a liability, unfortunately for Becker, he didn't realize the curse was helping him again, and he broke from his containment just in the nick of time, barely avoiding the inevitable acid bath that awaited him, after that, Needles made a massacre whilst heading to the Ambulance in the garage of the building and escaped, with the intent on finding the whereabouts of Calypso and Becker, he wanted revenge. At the end of the mission mode, Needles fights against Becker in his estate (which was located in a private island of his close to the Harbor City Shipyards, supposedly it was gonna be a big island with some real estate mansion of sorts or something like that), with becker driving a massive supposedly truck like vehicle (The remains shown in the defeated boss cutscene, look like they resemble Juggernaut, so it's possible that the TMX Juggeranut was a byproduct of a supposed Harbor City's original Juggernaut concept). In the end, he defeats Becker, but much to his dismay, after a few insults and humiliations targeted upon Becker, mocking him for the device not working and crushing his spine with his foot, he realized that Becker was either full of Adrenaline or Sedatives, which made him not feel any pain at all, so with that in mind, Needles decides to have some fun with his arch-nemesis, and brings him to an abandoned spot (where he had tortured previous people who had wronged him or were involved with Becker) and proceded to lay him down on a dentist operating table and starts using dentist tool to slowly but surely remove every piece of flesh from his body until there were only bones, Becker's screams of terror can be heard echoed across the building. After several hours, Kane was nowhere to be seen but the results of his Vendetta were quite visible, his enemies hanged by anchors across several walls, opposing or not, with a big flash of light glooming over the highlight of the crime scene, the disfigured body of Becker, whose face was practically only a big old pile of Bad Bones, organs and blood covering the scene in it's entirety, with suspenseful music drones playing in the background, that would've been one of the endings of Mission Mode. (The alternate ending was the byproduct of Needles supposedly murdering Marcus, being stuck in this hell dimension, removing his mask for the rest of eternity, desperate to remember who he was in the hopes of being able to escape such hell but to no avail, monstrous growls of frustration can be heard echoed across reality, with an abrupt cut)

Why does ST have a shock chip?
