I love WOC. I am so glad I purchased my WOC many years ago when the price was below $2000
I prefer the Chanel WOC, it's more versatile going from day to night. As an entry level piece I want something that can do it all

I have both. I use all of the compartments in the WOC. I put my cards in the cardholder slots and use the zipped pocket for cash. The Mini Evelyne is a little bigger as you said, but I store things vertically and don’t have trouble finding anything.
Definitely the Chanel Wallet On Chain is better for me. Every time I see you talk and adore the WOC, you are making me love my WOC even more.

Ah yes, neither are very petite-friendly when it comes to the chain/strap length. But you can play with the WOC chain to make it shorter and at least the Evelyne strap is removable if you want to add a shorter strap. Thanks for watching!

day to night, dress up/down, and can be a clutch. But I do love the Evelyne for a casual day bag.

Great video!! I have a Chanel WOC, purchased for $1200 in boutique back in 2006. I only use it occasionally, because of how small it is. I am thinking more and more about picking up a mini Evelyne because I think it would get a lot more use in my daily life. Thank you for the comparison!

I love and appreciate this showdown. I still plan on getting a WOC before it goes up AGAIN! But I also want the Evelyne but I feel safe to wait a bit before securing that bag. Fingers crossed Chanel prices don’t go up in September- would love to buy this as my birthday treat!
Showdown!! 😂 And absolutely, Chanel prices go up more frequently than Hermes prices so hopefully you have some time. WOC for me even though I haven’t used either of the 2 I have in a long time. I had the PM Evelyne but I sold her recently because I just don’t like the look. The TPM is cute though but not really for me.
I would get the mini Evelyne. I really like it in bold colors. Chanel is Chanel but I think the price is OD.

I think I'd pick Hermes! I tried the WOC in store and I didn't feel it was anything that special 😬 The Hermes is more practical and I like that you can hide the logo by turning it around.
True! The mini Evelyne is quite discrete when you turn the H towards you!
Hello, in Montreal, on the preloved market (excellent condition), the Hermes Evelyn’s TPM is more expensive that the Chanel WOC. The Evelyn goes for approx $4K and more whereas the Chanel WOC goes for approx $3.3K.

Thanks for another helpful comparison! If you wear clothes/jackets with pockets, would you put your phone and/or hand sanitizer there instead? That’s what I usually do and that gives me a little more space in my small bags.
Yes, I’ll pop my phone in my coat pocket sometimes for ease! 😉

I bought the WOC at the Heathrow airport about 4 years ago for 1900$ and sold it last year after wearing it twice, for some reason it's not for me (chain length worked but the bag looked tiny on me and...it looked exactly like a wallet, I couldn't unsee it 🙈).

I still prefer the Chanel woc even though Hermes Evelyn is a nice bag. I do love the Hermes Evelyn bag, but that is one of those bags I will not buy because it just won’t function well for me. I don’t mind stacking things as I would in my wocs. I mainly stack my cosmetics in the woc loosely and I used the credit card slots. However, when it comes to tall narrow bags it is too hard to grab things stuck underneath the stack. I adore the look of the Evelyn but it just isn’t useful for me. If one day I have excess money and it is like spending pennies at Hermes I may get the Evelyn just for my collection. 😁

Hi Hanna, how hard to score a mini Evelyne at Hermes Boutique? Do they require a purchase history for non quota bag?
I’ve heard mixed experiences with this. In my personal experience, I had very little purchase history before getting the mini Evelyne. In fact, my earlier purchases were in Paris years ago, so I don’t know if my NYC boutique even has that info. It was just two bracelets. The mini Evelyne was my first purchase from the NYC boutique, if that helps!
It very much depends on your boutique, the inventory available, and your own luck. I hadn’t purchased too many things yet - maybe two bracelets at the time and purchased separately too so I wasn’t some VIP or whatnot - but when I asked if they had a mini Evelyne (just in case they did) the SA told me that they had just had a shipment come in but the lady who reserved the bag had not shown up, so it was open for anyone who wished to purchase it. 😊 So don’t be afraid to ask if you really want it, because you’ll never know! Yes! I enjoy using my mini Evelyne! But then again, I enjoy using my WOCs too. I don’t mind small bags since I typically don’t carry much. Hope that helps!

It’s definitely best not to overstuff the WOC. I only carry my essentials - which isn’t a lot.

I shared this story a while back but at the time, there were no black caviar WOCs available across the US. I even called Chanel client service to track one down and there were none. So when I saw one on Fashionphile in brand new condition for slightly under retail, I snapped it up. I recall it was only about $50-75 less than retail but I was very happy with that because the WOC came with all tags attached, sticker still on the hardware, and full set as if it was from the boutique. Hope this helps!

I won’t buy Chanel now, quality control issues with high price points which is closing on par to Hermes. Evelyne can be modified to your use - you can easily replace the strap with other types of straps.
Chanel WOC, without a doubt. The style way better than the Mini Evelyne. You can use it from day to night. where as the Mini Evelyne looks way too casual and very boring style. I wouldn't buy it even if it was only 1K. Definitely not my style. haha!
