Thanks for the rig rundown Colin. There’s another sound Trey used to use a lot in fall 97 and he still uses on occasion. I can only describe a synth overdrive type sound, not sure how gets it. Maybe a Pog ? You can hear it on Hampton 97
Great video, thanks for sharing! I've never actually listened to Phish, but I enjoyed Trey's rig rundown(s) and really enjoyed this one. Despite playing guitar for more decades than I'd care to admit, I've only just started using pedals. Consequently, I really appreciate the thought and creativity that goes into these sound crafting tools! Looking forward to watching Part 2 in about 20 seconds!
An example of that sound is 27 min mark of Hampton 97 Gin. I think I hear some univibe and wan in a set position. Any ideas ? Appreciate your videos Colin.
At 27’ I hear univibe, not hearing wah set position. Closer to 28’ he turns whammy (like a pog) up the octave but played that repeating lick, likely in the same position.
Thanks for the video. I've been chasing his sound for a while. I have an Ibenez tube screamer, a boomerang looper, a alot of other cheaper pedals but I need a better guitar.

Interesting; you’re not thinking of the wah with whammy one octave down combo are you? Gets that kind of low snarl sound, maybe?
Great rundown. I really appreciate the insight. Looking forward to part 2!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Stoked to find this channel. Really appreciate what you said about the wah. I have an octafuzz that’s been painted over
@@GrumCentral thanks so much!
Love to see it. Cool application of the freeze.
Hey! thank you for the rec for this video!
Looking forward to this. I have some time to look at something for once.
What timing! I literally just asked in another video what the guitar was.
Sorry I didn’t see the first one!

@@sirhamalot8651 I had a Strat and had the pickups swapped out for lil 59’s and it helped a bit.
Lems....good shoes lol
@@willum8915 lmfao the gear video. Yeah they are cozy for stomp boxes!
I'm starting to suspect that gingers are just more talented when it comes to the guitar. 🤔
