What is urine culture? | Dr Narendra Saini | Medtalks

The video will explain about urine culture by Dr. Narender Saini, MBBS, MD, Internal /General Medicine. Urine culture is an important tool in any infections specially women and children. The urine culture has to be taken before taking antibiotics. Patient should be informed that before collecting urine for urine culture, the private parts are to washed properly.
Dr. Saini further states that the mid-stream urine has to be collected. The urine has to be collected in the sterile culture bottle. Also, there is no need to fill the whole bottle, only two-third bottle is enough. For the urine culture, only 2-3 drops are required. The urine sample should be reached to the laboratory as soon as possible.

My son is 30 months old. He is suffering from UTI since one month. He is peeing fine no obstruction, no blood in pee, no color change just when he is peeing feel burning sensation in urethra and sometime occurs high fever. already visited to the doctor and admitted to hospital for treatment but still urine culture and urine test result is showing bad. We make again and again test but still the same. As per doctor nothing wrong in bladder and kidneys. I do not understand why is not recover after treatment. Please help me. Thank you.
