This song has its own meaning to me... I've never believed in love until I met that boy in Summer break. That has the first and last time someone appreciated me. We rowed the little wooden boat to the middle of the lake and used to listen to the Beatles, the Doors and Aerosmith while smoking weed and drinkin wine . We trusted in each other, he kissed me, he comforted me when I started crying again for my best friend who I lost to suicide when summer began. He was my first love, the first one I've ever trusted and I am 17 now. I will never forget him, I promise. Then summer ended, it got colder, the world around me turned all into brown red and deep colours and I went back home to school, graduation year. Now I wake up every night after seeing him again in my dreams. Every day music or thoughts take me back to when we've started and I know I'll maybe never see him again. I have to deal with that every single day and half it works, half it doesn't so I live from day to day now. The hardest thing for me to accept is that that weight on my heart, missing him may never be lifted. I will grow older now, I'll have a job and find a husband, I will have some children but will never stop thinking about him, I will never forget him.

My mom is a drug addict and alcoholic. For most of my life she was very abusive... My dad was usually working or with friends when it was his week with me. So i had spent most of his weeks with my grandma (she is amazing. she isn't horrible like henrys grandpa). My mom didn't show up to court so she wouldn't loose custody of me. That was 6 years ago this month. Which the first time i watched this movie was right after all of that... My mom went missing and so I lost contact with her for 4 1/2 years. Until last december I saw her again. Shes homeless and living on some railroad tracks. She is barely still alive and she still doesn't want to give up the drugs or alcohol. She has completely destroyed herself and has hurt me in more ways than what is imaginable. What she has done and her choices have ruled my ENTIRE life. Still does. To me my mom is dead. In all honesty i wish that was the case instead... I may not have lost someone dear to me that served my country but i know his pain. I know what it is like to lose a parent that i was close with. Or what it is like to be beat and screamed at for no reason. Having bullies tease you at school. Living in a place where you are surrounded by junkies. Feeling scared and alone. Not able to wake your mom up cause she is too damn high. That church is the only safe place you've got. I know how it is. I am far too familiar with that pain. Just like how him and his dad would sing together my mom and i would do art together. All the time and i loved it more than anything. Now she is gone.. but by choice. Which hurts more because then you don't have someone to blame except yourself. I blame myself because i wasn't important enough to her, she didn't love me more than the drugs and beer. I ask myself all the time what is wrong with me? What am i lacking or what did i do wrong that is driving the people that love away? That makes it ok for them to hurt me. Why am i so unwanted? But either way it still hurts more than anything in the world to lose them and being helpless to do anything to stop it. This pain just grows and grows. It makes every single day feel like an eternity and reminds you of what you have lost. It takes control of you and creates other problems you can't control. More stress that you can't handle. It is the biggest reason why i am such a horrible mess. Of course life doesn't think givin ya one big lemon is enough! No! It gives you some more that you don't need or want! That is beside my point but i needed to mention that not just one series of events greatly affected my life. Or for anyone because like i said life doesn't work like that. So then things just get worse... and worse... I like to be able to connect with watch i watch. With whatever or whoever i am giving my attention to. I am very strongly connected with this movie every time i watch it. Which is why when i watch Lifted i cry for most of the ending. That i just want to scream at my mom and the others that i loved but hurt me so much, I MISS YOU!!! How dare you leave me like this!! I look for the deeper meaning in the media i give my attention to. This was more in depth and longer than i intended it to be. I'm not going to change it though. I feel the need to let others know this rather just saying "omg i love this movie" with a little smilie face in the end. Nothing is meaningless and it affects you in someway. Not just with shows but also with social media, the people you choose to be around, the pictures you view, the books you read, and etc... This is truely one of the most inspiring songs as an army brat and an army girlfriend well this just hits close to home for me. I know how it feels to have ur dad deployed and the fear of if ur ever gonna see there face again is one of the most excruciating things in the world

I agree with person who wrote the description of this video. This is one of my favorite movies ever. I love so many movies but this one i feel myself in it. i cry every single time i watch this beautiful movie!
I love how incredibly well this movie was put together and how the actors portrayed their characters. But it is probably my favorite movie is because like i mentioned before i feel myself in it. My mom is a drug addict and alcoholic. For most of my life she was very abusive... My dad was usually working or with friends when it was his week with me. So i had spent most of his weeks with my grandma (she is amazing. she isn't horrible like henrys grandpa). My mom didn't show up to court so she wouldn't loose custody of me. That was 6 years ago this month. Which the first time i watched this movie was right after all of that... My mom went missing and so I lost contact with her for 4 1/2 years. Until last december I saw her again. Shes homeless and living on some railroad tracks. She is barely still alive and she still doesn't want to give up the drugs or alcohol. She has completely destroyed herself and has hurt me in more ways than what is imaginable. What she has done and her choices have ruled my ENTIRE life. Still does.
To me my mom is dead. In all honesty i wish that was the case instead... I may not have lost someone dear to me that served my country but i know his pain. I know what it is like to lose a parent that i was close with. Or what it is like to be beat and screamed at for no reason. Having bullies tease you at school. Living in a place where you are surrounded by junkies. Feeling scared and alone. Not able to wake your mom up cause she is too damn high. That church is the only safe place you've got. I know how it is. I am far too familiar with that pain.
Just like how him and his dad would sing together my mom and i would do art together. All the time and i loved it more than anything. Now she is gone.. but by choice. Which hurts more because then you don't have someone to blame except yourself. I blame myself because i wasn't important enough to her, she didn't love me more than the drugs and beer. I ask myself all the time what is wrong with me? What am i lacking or what did i do wrong that is driving the people that love away? That makes it ok for them to hurt me. Why am i so unwanted? But either way it still hurts more than anything in the world to lose them and being helpless to do anything to stop it.
This pain just grows and grows. It makes every single day feel like an eternity and reminds you of what you have lost. It takes control of you and creates other problems you can't control. More stress that you can't handle. It is the biggest reason why i am such a horrible mess. Of course life doesn't think givin ya one big lemon is enough! No! It gives you some more that you don't need or want! That is beside my point but i needed to mention that not just one series of events greatly affected my life. Or for anyone because like i said life doesn't work like that. So then things just get worse... and worse...
I like to be able to connect with watch i watch. With whatever or whoever i am giving my attention to. I am very strongly connected with this movie every time i watch it. Which is why when i watch Lifted i cry for most of the ending. That i just want to scream at my mom and the others that i loved but hurt me so much, I MISS YOU!!! How dare you leave me like this!! I look for the deeper meaning in the media i give my attention to.
This was more in depth and longer than i intended it to be. I'm not going to change it though. I feel the need to let others know this rather just saying "omg i love this movie" with a little smilie face in the end. I look for the deeper meaning in the media i give my attention to and i want others to start doing the same. What is the message behind the songs you listen to? What is the meaning of that tv show or movie you watch? What is it telling you? How does it affect you in the way you do things and how you think? What does it mean to you? It seems like now people don't pay attention to what they let into their lives. Just goin with the flow of things without a care in the world. WAKE UP AND PAY ATTENTION!! Nothing is meaningless and it affects you in someway. Not just with shows but also with social media, the people you choose to be around, the pictures you view, the books you read, and etc...
Sorry guys but i am not sorry for going so deep into this. People don't do it enough and someone needs to tell them to pay attention to what's up. To look at the not so sweet and funny side of life instead of avoiding confronting it. I'm not looking for attention. Please i have had enough of it. What i'm looking for is people who are paying attention to the things around us and trying to get others to do the same.
If you read all of this i thank you for taking the time and brain power to do so. I am praying for all of you who have goin through something as painful as something like this. I do hope that people start taking a better look at what they allow into and to influence their lives.
All of you better have an awesome day or night where ever you are in this world! Also to smile when its hardest to and look for the best in all things! :)
