There are 3 things that will prevent Shane Cameron from ever becoming anything more than a journeyman. He cuts easily (never seen anybody in boxing cut after 3 minutes). He does not have the hand speed (if you dont have the KO power of Tyson or Tua , at least have good hand speed to nullify power hitters). And his lack of footwork and head movement. He is a standing upright target, waiting for the sleeping pill. To his credit, he has a lot of heart.
That wasn't a knockout! That was Tuaman saying WELCOME to FIRST CLASS BABY!!! Unfortunately Shane the Warrior Cameron and his fans never flew first class no more🤪🤣 but settled for economy checkmate 🤫🤦🥂🍾 all lived happily ever after.
Howard Dobson is a journalist/reporter. You call him out but half the country was thinking the same. Many people really considered Shane Cameron a real challenge to Tua. Howard Dobson (like many others) naturally talked Cameron up because Tua was no-where to be seen at the time and Shane was #1 in NZ which we thought was quite something at the time. Yeah everyone who thought that was proven wrong. The training Tua underwent did a lot for him, that's not to say he wouldn't have beat Cameron on a
I conceeded after the fight and the first punch that dropped Cameron that night. Tua would beat him at least 90% of the time, any day of the week this age. Fit or not, he always carries that power and no matter how fast you can avoid punches, sooner or later they will land. Shane is not yet (or may never be) in Tua's class. I admit that after Oct 3. What more do you want me to say man? Everyone's allowed to voice their opinion, I'm not denying that?
I think I would agree. Some things you just have and some you just don't (chin/cutting). Honestly, I don't think there was a lot he could do to put up a better fight that night. You can criticize his training camp, but Lolo is very respected in this country for his kick-boxing training (and to a lesser extent his boxing) and Shane would have to look to the states (and get more expensive) to find a better available trainer. He's not made of money and obviously doesn't have amazing contacts yet.
If Cameron fights again (which he says he will) I'll still watch his fights, but I'm not sure what to hope for. Maybe he can salvage something from his career but I'm not sure how much. I'll of course be supporting Tua in his fights too. I only comment on youtube like this because I support cameron and people here give him a lot of hate cause he called Tua out before. But being considered #1 in NZ means nothing to Shane because his whole career he's been boxing in Tua's shadow.
I'm a Shane Cameron fan obviously, but sadly what you have pointed out is quite true. I'd like to know what his health/fitness trainer has him doing. Because he ain't taking a leaf out of Lee Parore's book. I think Cameron is really being built similar to a weight-lifter. Really strong body (excluding cuts but he cant help that) but that doesn't always mean a strong punch. He has a lot of muscles but lacks the fluidity needed which David has a lot of it. He's very rigid and that makes him slow.
Lol I do in no way hate Tua. Being part samoan and living NZ, I'm proud of the achievements he's done in his career and representing those two countries in the international scene and putting NZ boxing on the map. I was a Tua fan before I saw Shane Cameron and I still am, it was being billed as whoever loses this fight... well it'd be their last. I backed Cameron because I thought he had more of a future because of his age and such ( I was wrong ), but I didn't want either fighter to lose.
The ranking system, I don't believe is 'corrupt' but it's certainly not accurate. I'm not sure if Friday was the only top 200 fighter shane fought, I doubt it, but I'll leave it on that. But they have to work on activity and such. Otherwise Tua could sit in the top 10 for the next 10 years regardless of if he fights anyone. Because he could always just train hard, make a comeback and beat someone. So I agree that it honestly doesn't mean too much, but they have to have some way to go about it.
Also, if you listen to the strategy they had planned for the Tua fight. On paper/theoretically it was sound. Stick the jab, use his reach and height advantage and if he gets in close then tie him up. Very similar to what Lennox used. The problem is Lennox was faster/taller and had a hugely greater reach to make it work. The problem was he couldn't take those shots and no matter how evasive you are, eventually you're gonna get hit... and he did. On the night, not alot he could have done diff.
If you're basing your opinions on mine, I'm failing to see where. I'm still quite keen for you to point out exactly where I said people can't have their opinions? Or can't you find where? Which I'd completely understand, because I never it at all. To say Shane had ZERO chance is a bit much. It only takes one punch to the right spot to drop someone. That would not be a question of chin. Do I think Shane could have done it? I wanted him too but it would be like 500 to 1 chance.
June 6 date. But absolutely the extra training helped. Dobson works for the media lol, they want ratings. They personally couldn't give a shit who won. Notice TV3 gave a lot more coverage to the Tua camp as opposed to the Cameron camp in the lead-up to the fight. Even a "60minutes" showing of it. Tua is the big name and the popular one, naturally they followed him more once he announced his comeback. It's not racist, you're just being ignorant by saying that. I'm part Samoan, why can I see this?
Rekuiemu is actually japanese so... You do realize I'm talking facts, not hearsay. Shane Cameron WAS higher ranked than David Tua in almost every (as far as I know) boxing organization. This was not because of who's better. But based on who's been more active and fought ranked fighters in recent years. Tua had not, hence why Shane was OFFICIALLY ranked #1 in NZ. Whether he was truly the best or not (which we now know he wasn't). Yeah, the Friday fight was completely biased commentary.
K, lets try and type with some intelligence then. I'm half-samoan for the record and I think it's fair to say that while most typical samoans were predicting a early round knockout. They predict that for EVERY fight. Same prediction with the Lennox fight. That's how Tua fights, you'd be crazy to ever bet on him winning by points. Friday was under-ranked. He should be higher up the list, yes not near Tua's caliber of fighters, but not 150 for sure.
Did you even read what I said? I didn't say Cameron would win. I said he would have had a better chance had the fight not been postponed, the extra months did wonders for Tua and it shows. Yes, Shane likely was always going to lose. I'm not denying that? I supported Cameron and my pick lost. So what? I'm not making excuses. I'm not telling people what they can and can't say either. Lol who am I to say that? I'm posting my opinions in response to other people's opinions.
You're talking like the same people who backed Mike Tyson in his fight against James Douglas. Yeah, the odds were heavily against him, but every boxer has a chance. No matter how small it is. A lot of people (myself included) thought it could have gone either way. There were a lot of factors in-theory like tua's weight and his age. But they turned out to be non-valid in the fight. And the chances of it going Shane's way were very far fetched.
And so really, to prove he was the best from this side of the world, he had to call out Tua. He believed in himself and as any fighter, you have to. He done what anyone else would have, to try and prove they are the best. Some fighter's would just try and avoid it to save face or consider their health. I admire Shane for having heart/courage. Shane's future is mixed now. He let his left hand drop a couple times in the Tua fight when it should have always been up and he was too focused on the
Lol self-importance? what are you? hahaha. I'm not quite sure what I'd be going to a boxing thread for? I backed Cameron and I supported him, especially in my comments here. No denying that. Cameron was completely annihilated by Tua and I didn't think it would quite happen that way. No denying that either, Tua was better on the day and has always been better. I'm fine with that lol, it's a sport, not life-or-death. I backed a fighter and he lost.Done, I just find it stupid how everyone turns
No. I'm not saying that. I'm saying he would have had a BETTER chance against a overweight-unfit Tua OBVIOUSLY. Not that Tua would have come in like that on a june 6 fight but he certainly had more chance to lose weight. I'm not disputing the fact shane would have lost either way okay? I wish he could have done the fight a different way and somehow done better but it didn't happen and it wouldn't have. Tua hits too hard regardless of his fitness and eventually punches would land.
But you've got a team of NZ commentators, and it's not just in boxing. You get the same thing when you watch a Warriors game or a All Blacks, thats just how our commentators are lol. If it was Tua in the ring, they'd have been completely biased towards him. They are always gonna favour the NZ guy. It's not racism man, don't be so quick to point the finger at that. Watch Tua's next fight, if theres all NZ commentators again, they'll be all over his ass too.
BTW, leave dobson alone hahahahah. 'IF' he was showing media bias for Cameron, then why would he go with Tua to BK? either 1. what he says isn't his words (he's a reporter... he reads off a card). or 2. he just likes to kiss whoevers ass in #1 at the time.
Lol no. I don't give two shits about dobson hahaha. I just thought I'd point it out. What are you? Tua's cousin? Oh pfft everybody is Tua's cousin lol. No I'm not japanese at all. not one bit. I'm half samoan and half caucasian. Just because my youtube name is that, doesn't mean I am. I mean are you actually Doctor Who?! And the announcer says that because they get asked where they would like to be credited from before the fight happens. Same with their moniker e.g Tuamanator/mountain warrior
this debate into a race thing. It's got nothing to do with races or where everyone's from. Both call NZ home (tua calls Samoa home too). Both fight out of the same country, theres no need for some "SOUF AUCKLAND VS ALL" crap. And lol please find and Copy and Paste word-for-word where I said people can't express their opinion? Or are you just talking and making up shit still? hahaha
poor Shane...he was rushed to the HOSPITAL after the fight....quite embarrassing....poor Shane lol
@MrCookies05
it was ONE of the most (if not THE MOST) Brutal Knockouts Ever
There are 3 things that will prevent Shane Cameron from ever becoming anything more than a journeyman. He cuts easily (never seen anybody in boxing cut after 3 minutes). jesus christ, tua's legs/thighs look like tree trunks, if he was an mms fighter those kicks from tua would break bones.

Rekuiemu ai boki
Oh shit, my bad. I mean he let his right hand drop (the guard against david's left hook).
Tua looks so happy cant wait to get in the ring lol
left hook that I guess he forgot Tua had a right hand too. Haha.

Never compared Shane to Lennox Lewis. He's hall fame probably the best heavyweights in world in his generation .

Shane fought the wrong guy. Shouldve been Hopa instead.......with his good ol finger hhhh
Tua shouldve at least toyed with cameron for a little while.. Tua has finally reached his prime and he looks hungry..
What the? The quicker and more brutal you KO someone, the more pay-per-views your next fight will sell. Just look at Tyson in the late 80s.
@187prettyboy yeah you can have it your way.. but that fight really wasnt as entertaining as it was thought to have been,, but i get your point..

nerves to take Tua on? Any no-name heavyweighty would fight Tua for the $500K cheque .
It's funny how Tua looks chubby even when he hasn't much fat
Sowi about it.lol..
