When GeForce NOW came out of beta just over a week ago, I initially had my reservations about how well the service would actually perform. Being a big fan of Stadia and the way it works, I expected NVIDIA's service to perhaps work well on certain devices and fall flat on others. I realized almost immediately that those expectations were flat-out wrong and GeForce NOW has quickly become a daily go-to for gaming on a handful of devices I own.
We've included a sampling of GeForce NOW running on everything from a mid-range phone to a $2000 Macbook Pro. Specifically, we tested the Pixel 3a XL, the Lenovo Tab 4 10+ (an older tablet running Android 7), the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e (a mid-range, $400 tablet), the Surface Go, and a 2016 Macbook Pro. When you talk about a range of devices, I think this covers the spectrum.

Totally agree about Hostinger: great service, and particularly impressed with the online one to one advice with a live operative (albeit in a text box) that got my website up and running. And _so_ cheap that I plumped for the 4-year deal.
Thanks for the video question please did you mange to figure out how to use the right mouse button for android version?
Yo did you test it on Android TVs?
I do alot of development with android and windows, in android 7.1 and up theres a feature called cursor hiding that let's apps hide the cursor and geforce still sees it but registers and looks like their mouse on their screen so you dont see your cursor
Dont even bother with Stadia if youre looking to get into game streaming.
I found out about GFN just yesterday and Im already playin dota through my phone
right? my brother in law has stadia and is garbage!! I installed yesterday GForce now and i am in love with it. My pc can't handle max settings in doom and while using this app now i can enjoy such nice graphics. Now i am not stupid i know this is not 100% fidelity due to cloud but common, a 3000$ pc or this? It's a no brainer! The latency ain't bad at all, best connection i tested in all services like this. Ethernet connection, decent internet connection and wired mouse and keyboard and you are good to go with minimum latency :D
@Mr Liberty doesn't sound like you tried gf now, had you :D
I've played GFN, xCloud, and Stadia Each of them work well.
Stadia - I've mostly been using Stadia because it has far superior convenience. I've been playing a ton of RDR2 on my big screen TV in my living room, which I can't use for GFN or xCloud. If I want to pick up my game from my bed, I can just tell Google to stop my TV and turn on RDR2 on my bedroom TV, and without any fuss I'm playing RDR2 from my bed. If needed, I can play from my phone or PC, but I generally don't play Stadia from those other devices.
GFN - The game library is wider on GFN, which could make it a better option for many people who are on a tight budget and have an old device to use. I'm really disappointed that Blizzard removed their games, as I was mostly going to use this to play Overwatch while out of town. It's a good service overall, and I do appreciate that they offer a free tier. But I can't play it on my three TVs in my house, so I'm relegated to playing on my PC, which is already a very powerful gaming PC... so there's not really a point for me. It's also a hassle and awkward to login using each service's credentials, making it much less user friendly than xCloud or Stadia.
xCloud - It's in beta right now so honestly no one knows how this one is going to turn out. There's a lot of mystery regarding how the final product will look. But beta works fine, ***IF*** you don't mind playing all your games on a phone. That's a huge draw-back for me. I play games on my TV and don't really see the point in gaming from my phone on a consistent basis (sometimes when I'm out of town, but it's rare).
That being said, there's a lot of promise for all three services. And the beautiful thing about cloud based gaming platforms is that you don't have to spend $400 or more on your system, you can just buy your games and play them through whatever cloud gaming service you want.
@Mr Liberty no man, no download required, the game that work on gfn are already on their servers, so no worries there 😁
@@adriantcg3676 you dont have doom anymore, do you?
Thanks for the review! I enjoy your chrombook reviews!! Keep up the good work!
Actual GFN Testing starts at 4:55
Omg thanks
I spent a long time saving to build my pc, even though it’s not strong enough to run the games I wanted to play I was still happy to call it a gaming pc and now I get a chance to play those games with my crappy pc I think they should continue to work on this.
And a really goood connection...
I had that problem too, for me I've gone into setting and changed the server, it may help you, trust me, just do a test before making sure the server is good, and it was like a day and a night difference for me.
Hope that help you
Have ethernet
Nah I didnt have a problem 20mbs by the way
I've been playing Doom 2016 using the service on my nine year old iMac and my new Fire tablet and it works great on both. Playing a game like Doom on max settings on my devices has been awesome.
I love the way Nvidia did their GeForce Now service, I’ve been using it with my 2015 Nvidia ShieldTV boxes
Thanks for not hating on stadia and making a good review/comparison 😀
Really impressive😍
I've been playing with GFN over 6 months with 20Mbps 1080p 30fps and my games works pretty fine the most important thing is that I can play anywhere with my phone and my x1s controller it's just amazing! Shoutout for GFN for making Stadia dead 🏆💫
Stadia was already dead on arrival.
My wifi is 50mbps and it was free
@@Juzimaster stadia is still under development just realize that you cant criticize somthing before it comes out
I've been using GFN for over 2 years (I was in their closed beta) and it's been through some tough times but it's an awesome program nonetheless.
@@raycert07 it's already out lol. It was dead on arrival. Nothing more, nothing less.
Using my Asus flip c101, geforce now is available and installs direct from the play store - mouse and keyboard isn't working but joypad is fine (also works fine on my Huawei mate 20 pro).
@RealLittleFriend yep, just using standard android app out of play store, installed fine.
GENIUS!!!
It runs smoothly on a 4k fire stick with cat5 adapter too (because I was too far away from the router). Connect a PS4 controller and you're good to go and play on any tv.
Tried it on MacOS and Android, and it is excellent. However, I tried DS4 controller on Android 9 and 10 via bluetooth, and 9 has serious lag issues for the tablet I used.
I love how you consider Geforcenow coming out at an interesting time when STADIA rushed their product to be on the market first regardless if it was ready or not because they knew they couldn't compete with Nvidia
Try the "quake II RTX Demo" awesome.
I am sticking with Stadia. I have both, but I like Stadia overall at this point. I am happy with ACO, Destiny 2, RDR II, etc. They keep me busy until the games start to pour in... Forgot to mention that to play on a large 4K tv for GeForce I have to use my Nvidia shield. For google stadia a $69 ultra chrome cast ...
I use GeForce on my laptop and on my Amazon tablet (needed an apk). They both work great, just need an otg adapter for my tablet
Been using it on a raspberry-pi 4 android os, it works but it will be way better when they add in the linux/chrome book options.
Hi can u plz put the link of the adapter, mouse and keyboard that you used since i want to use one one on youtube
I use geforce now for pc but I didn’t know it was for mobile. Insane bro
I've got an old Samsung Tab E. This GeForce Now looks like the answer to my future gaming.
I was able to download the app through my Samsung chromebook plus and it played fornite. Maybe for arm based chromebooks the option to download it from the play store is there. The app didn't accept keyboard input though. I would need a controller to play it.
I use gforce and Shadow to test and I prefer Shadow. I will keep using both for now to see how they improve.
No reason to choose one service over the other. You can use GFN and Stadia Base, both free services. Just buy the games where you want and play how you want.
I personally prefer Stadia right now because it works with my Chromecast Ultras on my three TVs. I'm hoping xCloud and GFN have similar options in the future, but right now you need to use a computer or phone.
GFN is so crisp and detailed on the galaxy s10+
Is the free membership has time limit
Yep G4 style works perfectly on my doogee mix 2 phone but as soon as I put on my laptop down it works but let's just say it's a bit of a artifact issue like I can still play the game but the game kind of has black red and green overlay and that's not good I remember when that used to happen to my console games or games are quit run that well or that were there I've never really seen on my laptop before so I can see that with GeForce now on my Toshiba satellite for discontinued laptop that's a bit I'm saying it's cool I can still play on my phone but I'll be nice to play on my laptop and plug into my TV and play but I called you that because the quality of the screen it basically looks like it's damaging my computer whenever I play on it
Does GeForce now work on a Samsung galaxy tab a 10.1 inch? Looking to buy one to use it just want to double check it works.
Don't suppose you've done a more up-to-date video on this topic?
How did you get it on the galaxy tab e? I have a tab e and a tab 4 and connot find the program. Trying to download directly from nvidia says that my tablets are not compatible.
I've used GeForce Now off an on throughout the years. It is a great service given you don't have your own gaming PC to stream off of instead. Gamestream, Moonlight, and Steam Link tend to work better for me, but this is a great option for those without a great gaming rig.
Moonlight actually works better than steam link and the actual nvidia streaming app installed on the shield. Which one is your favorite?
@@richflairnbc8527
GeForce is different because you don't need a PC to use it...
@@zodoz3619 no I understand that, I was speaking about on the Nvidia shield which comes with GeForce now pre installed... Moonlight and steam link are apps you can use to send a signal from your PC to Android device that will let you stream games directly
@@richflairnbc8527 I prefer gamestream most of the time as I tend to use my Shield TV. When doing anything remotely I prefer moonlight due to the resolution and bitrate customization being so simple and fast. Steam link looks the worse quality to me, more compression, but I will use it if I need some strange controller mapping with a custom peripheral like a dance pad.
Sadly I cant play even with a gt 740. However nvidia has responded and sent it to geforce now team with the closed but unresolved issue lol
how come my game controller does not work? with Chromebook
what is your internet speed tho?
This is literally playing any video game using cellular data on ur phone using a controller. Pretty cool.
Not “any” video game
nor "any" cellular data
nor "any" phone
Do you have to install and update your games? Does it cross save with your steam library or does it only plays the same games?
Running games doesn't use any disk space. Installing and updates is all done on Nvidia's end. Supported games do cross save. You're still using Steam to launch Steam games but through a virtual PC.
The bad thing is yes, you have to wait what the game install on nvidia server. It takes a few minutes.
Need this on ipad pro 12.9 :D
Need this on iOS in general. The iPad was unnecessary,
I installed it on my Firestick and I’m having double mouse cursor in game
Use a different controller turn off your toggle mouse
The sad thing is that "it is not supported in my region" so i had to download a vpn "low connection" :v
I was using the free account first but I was that impressed I decide to pay the £4.99 a mth for RTX version, it's amazing I no longer have any games installed on my laptop as i just play everything on geforce now...saves space on my hard drive and doesn't overheat my gpu....win win !!
Microsoft is saying that Stadia is their main competition but it's looking like GeForce now is a bigger threat to their XCloud service
How do you get this on iOS iPhone or iOS iPad
Let me tell you somethin, it does work & play on android box too BUT as long as you NOT use device running with Armlogic soc S922.. S905 are much good & stabile even it was not latest chip than S922.
How do you get it on iphone
I have sign up with geforce now, but when am trying lunch any game ( even from steam ) , there is a quick intro, and then nothing in any of games. Screen stops at very first frame ( where u can choose steam acc ). But u can hear controller make changes but nothing to see ( only I can heat noise of pressing buttons )
have login successfully to steam account in the app. Any ideas what to do ? Phone samsung s21 ultra, xbox series s controller. I have checked Stadia and works pretty good...but I want GFNow because am owning lots games on steam...
The biggest plus is you get to play the games you already own and you don't have to buy game again. Stadia is greedy af for charging for people each game.
I connected my stadia controller and nothing happened.
Whats the brand of that phone stand used in this video?
Belkin wireless charger
Ok
my game was so pixelized is it maybe cause of my connection? cause usually i play with 90 ping on normal fortnite but somehow it’s so pixelized on geforce now
You need wifi ping to be below 80 and reccomended wifi ping is 40 and below
You should plug old navy for a free outfit bro
I love the fact that now I can actually play PC games on my phone like yet I could play steam link by wasn't perfect with my whole book connection but now I can basically play Uma apogee I can find you play fortnite on PC I paid on Console I've got on Nintendo switch I play on. But now I can actually sit down go somewhere go somewhere to have amazing internet chill out with my controller ping my phone open GeForce now I just have a blast like if it was good I didn't think streaming what actually going to be a thing but I'm not compared to play I'm a casual player but they have to actually option is really dope remember when people start talking about Stephenson that's kind of streaming games the Legacy the light about to actually relax and enjoy it really is fun it really is enjoyable let me see I'm going to turn us with AquaTech. And play anyway but the fact that I can actually get slightly higher FPS she mobile I just like because I bought a whole bunch of PC games I can play them on the go it's perfect that's what I've always wanted wanted like steam link was supposed to be Dapper same PS4 Remote Play was supposed to be like that not PS4 Remote Play on the psvr was supposed to be like that we have to do is connect to your Wi-Fi it doesn't even wet puppy so does limitations 2.4 the hopping of all that do something amazing I'm Google try something even though they're really big and they didn't you know blow up kind of has me thinking I kind of stopped because I would love to see people stay. Do something what to see. Let me see Nevada cut the power light Nevada's got the power on people's go to infrastructure but it doesn't work the same way
You need a 2gb ram tablet or phone with an android 5.0 and above thats when you will find it on the google play store
And if you don have 2gb ram or you have an android version older than android 5.0, when your game has loaded it will say cant lauch the game your playing. And if u use the apk when u have an incopatble android it will say cant launch the game your playing when its finshed loading
Does it work on iPad? I couldn’t find it yet
no, only macos
I'm gonna try it with a Chinese Windows 10 mini PC that has a n3060 Celeron CPU.
my cursor was clunky but i blame connection
Do these streaming services have latency?
There will not be in the future. But's it's unconvincing that people of the future, or even of today, will prefer to play games on tiny displays where they can't see any thing. People with big screens will win more. Then all the stream players will go buy PC's.
Great video thanks
How did you connect the controller what cable did you use
And what was the keyboard and mouse
Thank you
How connect kbm??
actiblizard games got removed
Does not work on my HP G1 chromebook 🤬
I feel like the beta testers should get more time than free but less than premium. I used it in the beta and it feels way too short for my preference
My Samsung tablet doesn't let me download it 😔

I'm having great difficulty getting Geforce Now Running on my PC. I disabled my VPN. I've got BLAZING Fast Internet over Ethernet. And, here are my PC Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon Vega Built-In Graphics - 3.6 Ghz - 16 GB Ram - And, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. The only thing I did NOT disconnect is my Kapersky Total Security Program with Anti-Virus & Firewall. I'm not real keen on the idea of disconnecting all those Security Programs. But, assuming I"m not running a VPN nor Anti-Virus & Firewall, will I be able to run Geforce Now with the PC Specs I mentioned? I think I saw somewhere that I would need an RTX or GTX video card. Is that true? Also, I'm running Witcher 3 with a Steam Account. I REALLY wanna make my computer compatible with Geforce Now, so that I can have a better gaming experience. Thanks.
Tf u dont need a monster gpu just a good wifi
I knew this was the future since "OnLive" was a "thing". The logic completely wipes out having to spend thousands on a rig, even if it's subscription-based.
Does it eat it up your internet data?
Yes, read the fine print.
No it swallows them
So it can run on a Mac book but not an iPhone? Aren’t they both iOS? I don’t understand why they can’t make it work for iPhone. Huge short coming if you ask me.
There is a difference between IOS and Mac OS. This only runs on Mac OS (for MacBook)
And once again. No cloud gaming in South Africa.
Use vpn and connect to usa or europe
Here's a question if you already own all those games on steam and other sourcesit's pretty obvious you must have a machine that can handle those games already otherwise you wouldn't have purchased them in the past so to me that leaves the question why would you want to run them through GeForce now verses on the original machine that you bought them for 🤔🤔🥴
Lol u got a point maybe for phone i think
I don't like how u need 5g wifi I got 2.4ghz wifi and all I see is 360p gameplay ;( good wifi cost good momey
bro you dont have to download
Shadow is the beast that destroys all other platforms. Assuming you have a fast internet you are good to go with all of your games and any other software like adobe etc.
Does shadow let's you play the games you already own?
Uniqlo hoodies
Samy Elijah Gaviria thank you❤️
Download the game? What? I thought you’re professional 😞 on GeForce now there is no download...
what ur telling about downloading gforce now via chrome was impossible it wont let u. i have to use edge to download it.
My experience hasn't been the best. My internet isn't the quickest but it is 46mbps. So I thought it would be fine. But nope it constantly pixelates. To the point that l on Fortnite you can't see other players. Just to show it's not my internet connection, I can easily stream 3 HD movies at once while 3 people play Fornite, 2 via the PS4 and one on a mobile. I think it's Nvidias severs for the UK. What I find interesting is a lot of people with just 10mbps say it works great. Does it vary from location to location? Something Nvidia will have to work out. At the moment I'd say, unless you live in the USA I wouldn't recommend it.
My friend with 15 mbps have more packet loss then me with 6mbps it depends on server and other aspects speed is not the only thing
This is the guy who shit in the surface go
GFN is good and all but it doesn't have GTA 5 which a game I MUST play as I haven't played in so long.
I bought hitman 2 my pc is potato but i knew gfn will save my money
I just woke up a wicked idea that work Sony and Microsoft could do well Dad develop is impaired by Developers they should partner with Nvidia y mean by. Is any game that they make for the console or whatever and is going to PC what they should do is when we do by the games that should be a cold that they put into the case and we enter. Code into GeForce now and we can play all games from there it's just a good suggestion just in case anyone wants to take the game aboard since that isn't the only handheld we have right now is the Nintendo switch and a straight or no but I would love to see a big difference on the big shift of what it would look like on PC and that would be a great idea obviously understand some exclusive Khan but other games that are going to be cross-platform or on PC it would be a great idea if they get the developers to make a cold that you can put on the GeForce now system and you can play your games up there was ample I would love to play Tomb Raider on GeForce now apple on PS3 like a while back and obviously I caught playing cuz doesn't work properly there would be nice if it was a cold in there. Kapoor on GeForce now to stream the game night cuz I'm a d boy I know that probably faking but it's not mean you get any game for free technically but not really if the game is basically the same price you know Willie because I don't know but if there was a way where that could happen that would be great I would love that
:( it not on ios
This literaly changes everything the only thing u need to spend on are games and connection my mobile barely runs pubgm and minecraft I fired up Tf2 and it's 100+ fps
How? I don't know but it's amazing all you need is a processor that can run Google I'm gonna try this on my laptop that has Intel Pentium P6100 which is a terrible processor it runs boi and Tf2 at 10-17fps. So yeah
Just tried the free service to see how it would run. Tried to load up The Long Dark and was put in a queue with 40 other gamers ahead of me... yeah, no thanks.
yah but i use 144 hz wqhd - and yes this makes you a better Gamer ...
but wait, that means I have to pay 5$ per month to play my own games? The free version has 1 hour session limits. I mean on stadia I pay 10$ but I get 1-2 free games every month. I mean yeah there are not so many games yet, but that will change. Right now I am still busy with the free pro games I already have.
Yeah, with stadia you have to pay 10$ a month to play your own games you HAVE to purchase on stadia, and if you stop paying for stadia, you lose your games xD
Stadia you're buying directly from them. If they ever go belly up you're f%#ked. The games you bought can't be played anywhere else. Geforce Now for that $5 you're getting a cloud pc which launches your Steam, Uplay, Epic games....etc. No need for a gaming pc or updgrade hardware. If Geforce ever shuts down you can still play the games you bought. You don't lose them. That's the huge difference. Geforce is the more flexible choice. Also for massive multiplayer games your gaming with the PC community which is enormous. Stadia has none.
@@sabel7496 You don't lose purchased games. Those are always accessible whether you play on the free 1080p version or 9.99/mo 4k version. Way too early to compare these new basically "paid beta" services anyway.
How long before Pirate software goes down this route? Even Nintendo need to worry about this
Test it on a phone with 512mb of ram 🙂
Min is 2gb
@@e.s.s.5415 1 gb

Not same graphics Because for example fortnite graphics are worse on GFORCE now and they just look more realistic on normal fornite
GeForce now is way better in term of graphics and price! it is half price of Stadia, I don't even know why someone would use Stadio having GFN released
Nvidia got there 1st. Somebody gonna steal that shit.
