I had to put in a second comment. I’ve been waiting for my copy which still has t arrived so I’ve been watching every play through that I can get my eyes on. So, this morning I was showing another play through to 2 of my children to get them excited about the game. I had to keep apologizing for the quality of this other person’s play through. They kept saying, “I can’t really understand what’s happening,” or, “I can’t see any details because the camera is too far away,” etc.
Well, even though I already saw your play through on my own, I brought your video up again for them, but not only did they rave about the quality of your review and the game itself, I found myself wanting to see it all through again. You really are an amazing teacher whose enthusiasm is contagious. Thanks for all the hard work, extra camera shots, sound effects and explanations you gift to us when you put these videos together. I really appreciate it :)

Probably the best Zombicide video I have ever watched, beautifully thematic narrative and nicely shot. The fact it was gears and Guns MADE it for me. Pleaseeee do more gears and guns missions...pretty please

The dynamite is the 6 and the zombie head is a 1. However as long as you are consistent throughout the game it doesn't matter I guess

On the dice - head =1, dynamite =6 you did it the other way round

I believe it is pronounced “Vah-day retro.” It’s a Latin phrase meaning a command to go away, as in Vade Retro Satanas. Really entertaining video, by the way. Looks like I need this expansion too!

After watching your playthrough, I wish I would have backed this when it was on KS. Looks like so much fun, and I love the newer rules and campaign mode.

Think this is the best iteration of Zombicide that I've seen.
I have Shadows of Brimstone so don't feel like I need Undead or Alive, so would probably get the Zombicide in Space version if I were to jump in on the franchise. (In Space No One Can Here Zombies say, "Braaaaaiiiinz!" ) lol
I like that you get a chance to keep some of the cool gear, and it's quite thematic if you lose steam powered items, cos they got broke in the carnage.
What I don't like is running out of steam with a 1 on the steam die because it would happen every blooming time!
It drives me nuts playing EH because the very turn I get a character blessed, I'm guaranteed to lose it in the reckoning before having a chance to use it! #SadViolins 🤣🤣
Would certainly be up for more of this, please!

at around 5:10 you mention that in the campaign the mission IS NOT lost if any one survivor or companion is eliminated, but the rules you're pointing at says the mission IS lost if any survivor is eliminated. Thank you for the play through! I have my pledge sitting right behind me and I'm happily painting minis before we start. So excited!!
In the base game that is true, but in the campaign you do not lose by losing a survivor! Instead you can have that player chose a survivor in their posse to use next time! That is different than the base game!

Hey! Haven't finished watching, but it's really awesome that you're doing a Gear & Guns playthrough. Keep more coming. First small error I notice is that you said entering a room with corpse piles should put a spawn token on it. Actually when you enter the building, all corpse piles get a spawn token (ouch!). This is kind of an alternate way of keeping the surprise about what's inside a building zombie-wise. In Black Plague & Green Horde you would draw zombie cards for each room in a building. Always thought that was a bit brutal.
Thanks for watching! I'm not sure that is correct there are ai least 7 corpse rooms that would be an auto loss. You only need to place a spawn token in the building if it is on the same tile!

I have been reading this quite wrong, so you're right :) Thing is that you could easily avoid entering the rooms that contain corpse spawns. BUT, it says in the text above that corpse piles on the same TILE (which is the big square thing you combine to make the map out of, like 9V for example). I think I would have played this wrong for a really long while if you hadn't help me read this more carefully :) Thanks!

24:33 I think the intent of this card is to spawn ONLY on Corpse Piles in the building you're in based on the flavor text that says "Looks like a dang Slaughterhouse IN HERE"....

My friends and I had a long debate on this one when we got to that point. Found this video and that ended up being the tiebreaker. It ended up really messing up our game and it went downhill from there in a hurry. Then watched two other play throughs and they both spawned on every tile. Does anyone have the official answer for this one?

Interesting choice treating the undead zombie face as a 6 and the exploding dynamite as a 1. Not how I’d do it at all, but I guess it doesn’t change the statistics.

Weird thing with this flu doing the rounds was that it also affected the tummy.
Thankfully I wasn't too bad, but was constantly feeling nauseous with a drop in appetite.
Normally when I have a cold or the flu I eat like a gannet!

9:03 Rulebook indicates "When any Survivor enters a BUILDING" with a Corpse Pile for the first time, place a Corpse Pile spawn token on the tile's Corpse Pile on its Active side. A BUILDING may spread over multiple tiles and contain several Corpse Piles. In this case, only the Corpse Pile on the same tile as the entering Survivor become active. The other ones become active whenever a Survivor ENTERS the respective TILE within the SAME BUILDING".
That is exactly what I did! :) So we should be good!
I am a bit late but I think Glen is correct, there should've been another corpse spawn in the first round.
20:59 this one is a little confusing. The card says Any Survivor standing in "this" zone may perform a free move action. Does the mean the zone that the Survivors are currently in (where the card was flipped over) or the zone where the zombies/spawn point is located? If the intent is where the zombies are located aren't they located in a different zone than the survivors (looks like walls with a doorway between two zones, but not clear?

Need some clarification from first Objective card at 20:41. Says 'Any survivor standing in this zone may immediately perform a free move action'. Is that the literal zone where the survivors are standing and revealing that card, OR, is it refering to the Abomination Spawn zone (one room over)? If that second sentence refers to the first, then your guys wouldn't get the free move. But I read/interpret this either way on it's face.
I really had no idea so I just took it as I can move them haha!!

Unfortunately no, I ended up selling the game, I have 2 other Zombicides and felt like I didn't need a third!

Fanning let's you roll 6 dice with a 5 to hit! Check the rules!
How do you roll so many 6s? What is your secret so I can use it on my dice rolls?

Nope that one starts inactive according to the scenario

It doesn't. So a corpse pile with no spawn token will activate when someone enters the building. But one inactivated the spawn point is flipped face down. So this one starts out already inactive

Glad that your are feeling better and thank you for the playthrough. I have not played any Zombicide yet. Would you recommend this over the older variants or is it just a question if which theme/setting one likes best?
Haha yes!! Unsettled so good!! The theme is spot on, go for what theme you like most. The newer iterations are slightly better (for example this is my favorite mechanic wise with class abilities etc.) But i think the most important decision is theme for this game
Also I see you're using Trixie who is from the core box. I believe you're meant to use campaign expansion survivors only as they have abilities specific to the steam element of the campaign. If anything you might just be making it more difficult for yourself so maybe it's not a big deal. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! So they recommend you can use any survivors for the campaign, it's just that the ones in the Gears & Guns box has Steam abilities. Best part of this game is all the survivor variability!
