DUDE! :) I am happy to say that this worked until I now have the infinite, "Your system is restoring itself. Please wait". It's been 30 minutes+. I now need to reinstall the OS right?

Followed your directions to the letter. Perfection. The second method worked for me. Excellent directions and now I can give the Chromebook to a veteran that has nothing. Quick question when the end of life for the Chromebook expires can I continue to use it?

Hey man. Love your vids. You do a great job step by step on these. I've looked at every video you have (apparently not though) on "laptop wont start and has black screen or freezes". Every one I watch tells me "now if your laptop needs a black screen fix, this is the wrong vid.....look at video 1 or 3 or whatever in the description." I've watch every single one that's linked in all the videos in that series. And every one of them tells me it the wrong vid. But I have yet to find a link in any description that shows which one I need to watch. Please help!!!! I'm workning on a ACER Nitro 5. Gets power. Sometimes it will get to the ACER logo sometimes it just stays black. Other times the backlighting comes on and it just sits there. Rare times it will give the spinning dots to boot and then goes to the blue screen with error code. Most times though it just stays black but the power lights are on. Can you please link the correct video for me sir? Thank you so much.
1. If your Acer logo appears before the boot up process fails, then you want to try the steps seen here: ua-cam.com/video/gDQZvNQ2chc/v-deo.html. Also, see if you can find any Recovery or Repair options while your in BIOS.

Yes, I would try resetting as seen here. Chromebooks are pretty simple machines. Resetting can usually solve most issues with them :)

l have a question, so like when l used my chromebook for the first time and logged in with my google account, my parents used family link on it, for few months l decided to delete my google account and my parents deleted the family link and the app, but it still asked for the family link code even though the app is deleted, and still none of these work :(( and l tried to delete the google account on the chromebook but theres no option.

Most of the time, people who reset a Chromebook do so in order to fix slowness or glitches.
Video time2:22 I have done the 3 key combo one key at a time to get my screen to come on, but didn’t get that code your pointing to. My signin page comes up and I can’t sign in because I don’t get the right number or letters of my password. I get random numbers or letters in multiples. Looks like I need to reinstall the operating system as mine must be to corrupt
Bought a HP Chromebook today, set it up and decided I prefer Windows, watched your video and reset it, and I'll give it to my great granddaughter tomorrow.

I am trying to fix a Chromebook which despite only being 18 months old has stopped updating and clearing browser data. I am doing a factory reset, however the reset process never completes. After getting to the point where I connect to the Wi-Fi network it starts running an update, gets to 100% and then returns to Wi-Fi network page. It is stuck going around this loop. Any suggestions things to try or should I just reinstall in the OS?

Hi, I just saw your video. Some of what you said work but my niece has an old Acer 2016 Chromebook and before I recycle the thing at Staples I want to format the drive or take the hard drive out and I've never had a laptop before. Just a PC in my room and I know how all those work but I want to eat to take the hard drive out and just get rid of it or format the drive on this thing and I'm not seeing any way to format the drive on this thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you have a good day
Most chromebooks do not have a removable HDD. Its usually integrated into the motherboard.

I actually checked numerous UA-cam videos and I found a way just by pushing some keys to I think they called it the factory resetting or scrubbing or washing the hard drive because before I recycle it I wanted to do that. When I hit the esc/refresh/power button, it went from chrome OS MISSING TO INSERT USB STICK OR SD CARD. when continue w cntrl/d, it goes thru everything as you describe, but turns off and back on to Chrome missing! Screen (where Cntl/D does nothing). Any ideas?

Is there another way to do this. I tried both wat the reset does not seem to work I press all bottoms and nothing happens. I tried the esc reset power method and for the most part it takes me all the way but I’m still stuck on enterprise enrollment.

I tried resetting my Chromebook bc when I try to type the keyboard doesn’t work only a few keys work but weird enough is that when I press those few keys they act like they were some shortcuts like for example I press the W key and it types ]y

No I did that and it didn't work it says developer mode is disabled by system Policy at the top and its a dell chromebook 3100
You did what? This comment is not attached to any previous conversation so I dont know what has been talked about before. If your Dell Chromebook is giving you that error, can you try a reset as seen here? If so, what happens during the reset?

Both do work lol. They are pretty simple and standard procedures. If they didnt work on your computer, perhaps your computer has more issues than a simple OS issue. What seems to be the prob with your computer? Also, what brand and model computer is it?
