One additional thing I enjoy with Baiken besides her high/low mixups is doing all of her strike throw mixups. 2K > 6K > Tatami after a safejump allows for a sneaky grab in between each move that puts them into the exact same position, but you can easily bait grab and j.H > Youzansen or 2K > d.l 2K > 2D > Tatami.
I've just noticed this, thank you so much for the comment, it means a lot. You were one of my main inspirations back when I started editing for Diaphone and your guides were so helpful when I was actively competing in DBFZ. Thanks for stopping by :)
Wow this is impeccable timing. I’ve been using just one character since launch so I wanted to try a different character and decided to try Baiken. Thank you!
A situational framekill setup I like is doing 2k sj. IAD j.h after 236h~h. It safejumps any non 9f reversal, and j.h is better for confirming some situations imo. It also lets you mix between Youzansen and 2k! I know it makes no sense to add this into the guide but maybe this helps someone :)
Just a tip, if you hold down for a split second before doing 2369S you get normal jump youzansen which is more plus and allows ladder combos. Pretty good all around
Thanks bro absolutely essential guide for the updated Baiken! I find her super fun, maybe not the strongest, but to me her style is incredibly satisfying.
Hey dude love your guides, they’ve really helped me improve with Baiken. Are the bread and butter combos still applicable from the 101 video? Also when you say “you can do something like this” could you put what the string is? Yeah it looks cool but it’s kinda hard to understand.
This is awesome! I've been using a lot of this stuff already but I also learned some new things. One note on H Kabari though. The followup can be thrown. This is important because the initial hit is -3 on block. So unless your H kabari is spaced properly, it will pull them in close enough to where throw mash will OS both the stagger and the followup.
Ive watched the oki part several times now the throws in particular. How are the inputs different for same side vs cross up yozan oki they look the same to me more or less.
@@Diaphone maybe? basically what happens is the game doesnt give me the 2639 into YZ, i either have to delay to to the point of why bother attempting the TK input (usually) or it just gives me the 236 grounded input. do you have a tip for the rhythm of the delay needed to time the TKY?
@@LadyGainhart Try buffering a TK Yozan after 5k/c.s since those are both jump cancelable. Gives a bit of a bigger window but do keep in mind if you want to do ladder routing it's probably easier to go 8/9236S since raw 2369S Yozan will buffer a super jump unless 2 is held a bit longer (like a charge character)
My tip is to start by practicing a a half circle from down to up, really easy with the joystick, just rotate it, a tk youzan is much easier because it has a fireball input instead of a dragon punch, once you do a quarter circle on the ground, and then slide it up, the youzan will come out everytime
I have trouble with people who spam grab for the H-Kabari follow up. Especially when I'm trying to mix going for another option but H-Kabari pulls them in close enough for them to grab me. Any tips for that?
Zato also stuggles in a lot of matchups, maybe even more that Baiken and many still high on him. I say Baiken is underrated, not many play her at tourneys.
I sticked with the game for 6 months, and nothing, i didn't learn anything, i didn't feel any improvement, every day i just feel like im doing worse than before. And FGC people just say "play the game" like im gonna fucking learn that shit via ozmoses or some shit. I don't have any direction, any type of guidance, nothing and for some reason "just play the game" and the skills will poof like magic to you. Maybe people who play fighting games were born with some sort of innate talent and i simply wasn't born like that. Im tired of this crap, im tired of people just saying fortune cookies phrases and thinking that is solid advice, i have stick with it for half a year and notice nothing, what now? Do i have to play for 10 years to magically know what fundamentals is and how to do it? I am unemployed, broke and i wasted 60 bucks on Strive for nothing, i don't need a game to make me feel like shit. Can someone please, give me a direction, or anything please? Im playing Ramlethal, it is me or is the character? Should i change character? If yes to whom? What should i do to improve? Should i just give up and accept that i just tossed 60 bucks down the toilet? Please, can someone please help me??
I felt exactly the same, i think the issue is that fundamentals are kind of learned intuition so it will come in time. I havent learned it either. I mostly just start slow by learning what the heck the character wants to do first. Like for Ram I know she wants to go to the corner. So I'll play against a bot just to kind of get the feel of Ram's mindset. I'll just do basic shit like Slash&HSlash them until they're near the corner and then throw one sword, dash, pick up, slash or hslash, throw the other, rinse and repeat till wall break. Pretty basic as hell but it makes me feel like I'm at least learning something
I would take a break from the game Kuro--it sounds like you're dealing with more pressing issues than Guilty Gear. It doesn't sound like you're having fun at all and it's making your current situation worse

Woah this is awesome, and the editing blew me away!
Love the attitude, the information, and the whole package :)
Rath come back to us 😭 your DBFZ guides were so great they literally helped me play FGs as a whole and not just DBFZ

woah its good to see you here i hope all is well you were a great fgc youtuber🫶🏻

Sheesh production quality through the roof nice work
God bless you diaphone. I've been hoping for this!
High key been waiting on this. Thanks Dia
30min of Baiken tech I have been blessed
The switch in energy from 18:10 to 18:15 had me rolling :D
for that first combo you showed, I just do 2H (Counter) - 426S - c.S - 6H - 236K - 5K - 6H - 426H - H
it's much more consistent and comfortable
Yiou!zann!SENN!
This is awesome! Thx man! Time to hit the lab 😊
just picked up the character super excited to get stuck in with some of this and the stuff from the 101 guide too.
Hell yeah more Baiken content! Thanks dude
Thank you!
If you catch a jump at long range with counter h kabari whiff the follow up to get the combo. It doesn't happen alot but worth knowing.

Nice! I really wanted to see a season 2 guide. Thank you very much! Time for some practice session)))
Amazing num pad explaination!!!

Great guide!
Thank you so much for this kind of content.
Just an FYI if you yet counterhit Hkabari 1st hit point blank you can get cs 2h 236k for more damage
I don’t like doing it that close (cause ez grab, but good point)

Yea pretty much. And I'll consider the latter, but it's def more work, especially for an intermediate guide
@@Diaphone understandable, and I just kept rewatching the parts I didn’t understand to break down what moves you were doing on my own.
These are such a joy to watch! Awesome guide as always!
Excellent
Damn. You look so good with scruff 😍
Does the mixup @16:47 only work on Ram. I can’t seem to land it on anyone else. The Jump slash connects but the follow up Heavy slash always misses.

What's the counter to grab at that range?
@@PanacheDota unfortunately the only 'counterplay' I found to it is either don't do H kabari at that range or RC it 😕

My friend mashes grab on the 2nd part of h kabari and it smokes me every time when im too close how do i keep it my turn in those situations
Great vid! I'm still struggling trying to do a TK Youzansen, any tips?
Same. It's been really frustrating how often it doesn't quite read my movement to 9
Hmmm not sure, make sure you do a slightly delay when canceling from a normal compared to when doing it raw?

I made a Cannon Attack and dont know how, can you please tell me how its called or how can i do it myself? at the end explodes like pyrotechnics.

I always got spam DP after I kabari :

Never do H kabari up close pretty much… grab us guarenteed close. Know the range where it can be grabbed and where it can’t… it’s only short distance
@@Diaphone Yeah guess it's just a bad habit of mine I always end my pressure on H-Kabari. Thanks a bunch man and will be cheering for you on Evo.
Instructions unclear: I have begun performing the exact same mix as Millia after air tatami and now I am having an identity crisis.
16:50 I can’t get the reset to work is it character specific?
Somewhat? It is distance specific tho so maybe thats why
