Because, he/she (Leopard) got busy making his salad first before eating the catch! And also, because his/her favorite opera was on the TV!😅 Or he/she had to take a leak!
Seriously what happens to the leopard?!?!? Something obviously happened like aliens or a wormhole or something in order for that impala to get away and climb out that hole with no struggle nor interest from the leopard to try to keep its meal at all.
There was an interview from the crew that said the leopard saw a baboon inside when she went down and got surprised, letting the impala from her jaws for an instant of which the impala took chance to escape. The crew said they're unable to film that part properly, cause the event was so sudden, and only managed to get the impala escaping on camera.

Leopard i am not in the moode for the Impala adult maybe... It's baby 😂 so off you go buddy To the baby Impala :- come here tasty morsal Baby impala:- what
The actual reason (according to the producers) is that the baboons present in a few shots freaked out and started to mob the leopard, forcing her to abandon her catch. This happened too quickly for the producers to film.

Are you vegan? With all due respect, unless you’re vegan and don’t wear leather shoes or belts, you just let others do the killing. Would you feel bad if the leopard’s young kittens starved to death?
Impala: Hey I'm still underage
Leopard: Sorry I didn't notice that, have a nice day
Wow, this man's voice is gold! 😊
Yes he’s our icon in making and presenting Wildlife programmes, his name is David Attenborough a part of a well known family over here in the UK.
his voice didn't do justice impala escaping in the unknown
HOW COULD YOU END THE VIDEO ON SUCH A CLIFFHANGER?!
I looked forward to watching and listening to BBC Earth.❤Thank you

I can listen to this man all day ☺️☺️voice soooooo smoooooooth💜
THE POOR LEOPARD HAD A TOOTHACHE. poor thing. The pain the pain
How on Earth (pun intended) does one film something like this from such insane perspectives and angles? It should be impossible.
Very clever spyware including fake animals with cameras in them
It's not in one take. Some scenes are gathered together to build up a narrative
From a distance.
Drones? They could probably work for some of the angles.
They use drones and other high tech equipment
I love the man's voice narrating❤❤😮
David Attenborough! He's the best narrator!
Sir David...is totally dedicated to 'animal kingdom', we are proud of him...!
That Impala got out by the grace of God on that one! 🙏
Thank goodness the impala aint dead from those jaws
Beautiful earth❤

Ikr!!! There was a jumpcut between the catch and the escape, it's very weird and unlikely 🤨
Leopard possibly sprained her ankle! 😂
I feel like the video just stops

Such a long build up to the story only to miss the most crucial part i.e escape from the jaws of leopard

I think the leopard decided to let the impala go and call it a day. There’s no way it escapes that easily 😅

Obviously the grip wasn't good enough. Sorry Mr leopard.
Beautiful Creations from TMH 👏🏾🤎
hello bbc would you mind to release the escape video we don't like mysteries
I believe that's a Cheetah and not a Leopard!
No, Leopard it is.
It's clearly a leopard- cheetahs have "tears" on their faces and are more slender built.

I know what happened. The Impala kicked the leopard's balls.
