Great match. These guys are GOOD. But no drinking rallies. It looked like Bob and Tom could get to almost every drop shot and hit it back hard. I'm guessing that they're very tall players, definitely over 6'
Bob and Tom have the advantage of father time on their side being 66 and the pickleball hall of famers Mark and James 74+. I talked with Bob after the match and he didn't want to do any dinking if possible just to dictate play. They did that in most of their matches, they blew everyone off the court!
Where I play they wouldn’t even be allowed on the 3.0 courts! This type of nonsense from other commenters is just trolling to get a reaction. Obviously these guys are 4.5-5.0, imagine if they were very mobile with those hand skills.
Doctor I appreciate your optimism! Mark Friedenberg and James Hackenberg are in the Pickleball Hall of Fame and Bob Deller and Tom Boyd play like 5.5's.
The fellas in the white are very good players. However, they have zero soft dinking game. They will not advance until they develop it. Better players will dink them to death and then beat them at their own game when they pop up the ball.
The right hander dressed in white is Tom Boyd, He teamed up with Ken Curry and won gold at Margaritaville Nationals 4.5/5.0 65+. His partner Bob Deller teamed up with Steve Paranto and won bronze at the same tournament. . Thanks for watching Mr. Craig!
I agree Todd. Grunting drives me crazy when I'm watching tennis and pickleball. Why is it when players play practice matches they don't grunt but get on center court the grunting curiously appears?
I was curious Ray so I looked up their UTPR rankings from the Huntsman tournament. Bob Deller 5.0 age 66 Tom Boyd 4.5 age 65 Mark Friedenberg 4.5 age 75 James Hackenberg 4.5 age 74 It wasn't a close match but Deller and Boyd played lights out. They dictated play and made few errors which is a recipe for success. One element not taken into account is the weather, this is a third round match and it's 90 degrees out. This was my first time seeing Mr. Friedenberg and Mr. Hackenberg in action and it was impressive. They are both in the Pickleball Hall of Fame!
Love that you are displaying the score. Makes video much better.
Thank you Jim!

Indeed Dean!

I agree Christopher....thanks for watching
Good game.
Thanks Chris......all four of these gentlemen would destroy me
Mike, you and I could give ‘em a run for the money

They’re not 4.5/5.0 where I play. Maybe 3.5 at best. Maybe.
At 65/70 it is.
Nonsense, Mike S.
Bob doesn’t seem to be getting many balls?
No...definitely not!

Geese! They are beating two hall of farmers and they will never advance? Go figure! Perhaps some homework is in order.
Is the grunting really necessary?. This isn't Wimbledon.

If your 65 to 70 and can play like this you have earned the right to grunt 😀
...must be self-rated.. 3.5 + ..maybe.
I was curious Ray so I looked up their UTPR rankings from the Huntsman tournament.
Bob Deller 5.0 age 66
Tom Boyd 4.5 age 65
Mark Friedenberg 4.5 age 75
James Hackenberg 4.5 age 74

You are a 2.5 at best. What a terrible comment. These guys are great.
