Maxis is the Shadow man and Richtophen is Dr. Monty! Alternate versions of them exist obviously and from the quotes about them always being friends makes sense. Dr Monty was described by the shadow man as his apprentice at one time and as the devil. He's the devil because we blamed him for the zombies originally. And in black ops two we found out Maxis was the bad guy all along still, just like he shadow man is. Just like the sentient voices from black ops 2, these are alternate versions of Maxis and Richtophen, they grew apart and Richtophen wanted to fix it all. But he knows he alone can't make Maxis see what he is doing wrong. Finally maxis had no soul during this opening cutscene. But where was this Maxis' soul, it was but the shadow man. That's just a theory though, call me crazy but nothing is ever too crazy for the zombie universe...

so at the end of the video somewhere the shadow man says "Just give up, your souls will be absorbed into the blue light of the apothicans". in the Trailer for Revelations towards the end you see Richtofen in pain and a Bright blue light Sorrounding him.

U is between the O and the R. Origins and Revelations. Hes saying everything we have done in between means everything. I think the easter egg steps will have something to do with each and every map that we see in revelations. Like so people can see
I think Monty is God and the Shadow Man is Lucifer. And even further, Maxis is Monty and Richtofen is the Shadow Man. It all just fits so well. Like how Lucifer betrayed God, Richtofen betrayed Maxis, and the Shadow Man betrayed Monty. I think the entire zombies storyline is a huge allegory to the story of Satan and God.

unless you see maxis as the devil. I honestly do atleast for this universe. in the original universe richtofens actions were somewhat justifiable because richtofen and Maxis were close. then technically maxis betrayed richtofen because he promised mass production of the wunderwaffe and failed to do so by being wrapped up in his gf sophia. and richtofen did not intend to kill Samantha but instead just maxis. and I think all of this would end if maxis was entirely erased from every universe because he is the root of everything.

Yeah, weirdly enough, there are 2 spots on the map that have Vesper chalk outlines but are actually the HVK. Especially weird considering that on other maps the outline for the HVK resembles the Sheiva

The shadow man is referring to the Moon saga, when Richtofen touches the pyramid for the first time he began to hear voices, these voices was the Shadow man!
What the actual F***! This is so amazing and I just can't wait until more quoutes are found. I loved when Monty talked about "Rumours" and how he broke the word down.
Richtofen killed the reporter on Shadows of evil! If you remember a mysterious man asked a reporter to find rare artifacts around the world. That man was Richtofen. Shadow Man just said it. It also explains why the cipher relating to the reporter's death is on der eisendrache. Der Eisendrache is where Richtofen used to live.

It's the only way that quote makes sense. It would also explain the voices that Richtofen heard in his head. And it also explains Richtofen's Grand Scheme in the Moon map.

I think Dr Monty is just a strange being between worlds. He delivers prayers to angels, fufills dying wishes, gives letters to santa (not sure if that was a joke or not), and from what he says, he's the only one doing all this. So maybe he's just able to do what others (God/Angels) can't and has kind of made it his job. That's just how I think though.

+btafbm the quote is actually "go on my son" when you pick up Weasel's hat. I don't think that means anything too big to be honest because "go on my son" is actually an English saying in sports used as encouragement. It's essentially Monty complementing you for your progress.
Its meant as a saying which english people say as a type of complement. It doesnt always mean biological, however it wouldnt make sense whatsoever since Weasel is heavy american and Monty is extremely english accent.

It's just a like Mob of the Dead, it's a cycle. That's why we heard radios in The Giant from other timelines of the crew, that's why we see their graves in Revelations, that's why the Shadow Man says we died a long time ago, that's why that cipher from Dempsey talks about the crew dying. That's why every trailer we've seen shows different versions of ourselves dying. Black Ops 3 is a cycle that we're doomed to repeat.
Also, the Shadow Man talking about Richtofen as his "apprentice" and the promise he made to him? Didn't Richtofen make a promise to Maxis, was he not his apprentice as well? The Shadow Man is intimately related to Maxis, and Monty is intimately related to Dr. Monty, almost to imply that they're the same person.

The promise the shadow man mentions in his quote was the promise richtofen made in his memories trailer!!! That gives the trailer so much more backstory and understanding than before. Like so everyone can see!

The way he talked about Richthofen made it sound like maxis is still in the shadow man fighting him.
Listening to these quotes makes me realize why Richtofen was screaming out loud in the trailer of the revelation. He could have saying "destroy him", targeting either shadowman or Monty, but most likely shadowman, to stop shadowman to try to brain wash or manipulate Richtofen, and Richtofen knows that it's a bad idea to fall for that. Im sorry if it doesn't make sense, but hope you guys have some clue about what I'm trying to say

I finally get it when Dr. Monty breaks down "Rumours" as an easter egg. He uses "U" as the word "You" as in you're the only solution to the problem. After the "O" and before the "R". "O" Being Origins and "R" being Revelations. As in how these two maps connected with each other. Its hard to explain because I'm full of theories.
Near the end, the quote where he says that richtofen promised him reminds me of a monty quote. Monty asks richtofen if he owes maxis anything. What if it isn't Maxis that he promised, but the shadow man
Woah I just had an idea! What if to solve the Revelations Easter egg, you have to solve all of the others (basically go back to all of the other previous Easter eggs)? Like in BO2, you can chose to either follow the Maxis Steps or Rictofen Steps. What if here you chose between the Shadowman and Monty? Also, the Der Eisendrache clock is in Revelations; if I'm correct that was a part of the Easter Egg for that map; The Tombstones? All of BO3. What about the Shadows of Evil Characters? What do they have to do with everything? Al from Mob of the Dead; why is his hat in the map? I bet there's so much more than we think to everything in this map. We just have to dig deeper... Maybe a quick suggestion; on 4 player, each player must wear a different hat, and have one of the 4 special melee weapons to complete a part of the Easter egg! Just an idea tho!

In my opinion, that pretty much confirms that Shadowman was The Voices that old Richtofen was hearing.
Probably, I also think that Shadowman wasn't always the Apothicon and was in good terms with Monty. Considering that Monty is the Devil as SM said in Wisps (which I do believe in that), I don't have idea tho' who was Shadowman be4 that change. Probably, he looked like his "human" form.
But hey, that's my theory.

Ok so, the last quotes of this video, Richtofen knows the shadow man and made him a promise long ago. Almost like an apprentice. Shadow man is sounding like Dr. Maxis. Maybe that's his real identity? Richtofen Quotes from previous maps can confirm that this.

What if in black ops 1 and world at war when richtofen touched the MPD and became insane and started hearing voices that was the shadow man speaking to him, and when Samantha entered the MPD it disconnected it from the keeper's aether and connected it to the dark aether and that's why sam says 'there's something far worse than you in here richtofen" on moon. It would also explain why shadow man calls richtofen his apprentice but never specifies WHICH richtofen he's talking about
115 go thrown into portals by apathocons and now shi no numa well basically all the maps in this case dimensions are all affected by 115 that's why there is zombies, box, wall weapons, perks, all that stuff that's why in one of the maps 115 rock crashed onto the map
the reporter from shadows of evil makes since now. the dagger that had an "M" on it was monty and killed the reporter and the reporter was giving information to the shadow man.
I swear The Shadow Man is Maxis and Monty is Richtofen. I swear. Remember this. That 2nd to last shadowman quote confirms it. Listen to the quote and then go watch the 40 minute zombies storyline video and itll all make sense
What if Richtofen purposely knew that the shadow man was in the summoning key and "acted" like he didn't know he was there just so Maxis can unleash Shadow Man. Now he has a chance to take out both Monty and Shadow Man using his own plans with the blood vials. In one of the quotes Dempsey said that the house would have been a safe place if monty never knew about it

After listening to this, seeing the comments and noticing that the lamps with blue fire are Monty and the red ones are the shadowman (meaning opposites) I think that you are going to have to choose to side with the shadowman or dr monty, a buried situation where you destroy/rule the world alongside shadowman or where dr monty kills you for the perfect world for the children...

I shot the graves in spawn as richtofen on solo and then went to nacht to finish a challenge, but while i was running rounds in there, a wisp kept respawning every round next to the weapon switching table. It wasn't the normal monty wisp rather it would give backstory on richtofen everytime I interacted with it. Doubt it's main easter egg material but interesting side backstory easter egg nonetheless

i can imagine in 3 weeks the cutscene is figured out and it's just a 2 second clip of the apothicon sucking up the world then it just says 'the end'
