For a small upgrade in price, you might consider RIU Tequila, Playacar, or Yucatan. All of these hotels have better amenities and are closer to the beach!

Any one of the other RIUs in Playacar will offer more of a resort vibe - you can watch our video on RIU Tequila to see one of the more popular ones!
For solo travel this is just right :) very tiny 😊
Choose RIU Tequila instead of the Lupita if you can. You get access to 3 different types properties in the area for just a little more. We were in the same predicament about a week ago and the customer service at the RIU tequila will leave you smiling and you have to experience that!

How was it? I am going next month
Mexico is great, heading there in a few days again! We didn’t stay at the RIU Lupita - just toured the property - it is the one we would recommend the least out of all the RIUs in the area.
@@WherewegoingNext I booked at the RIU but will be paying extra to change resorts after your feedback. Have you stayed at the Sunscape Akumal resort?
If you can budget the upgrade, the RIU Palace Riviera Maya is definitely the best, otherwise the Tequilla is a great affordable option as well. No, we have not been to the sunscape.

Can you use the other hotel’s facilities at all? We were at the Tequila years ago and could use the facilities of the RIU Yucatan and Playacar hotels during the day but not on an evening!
Yes, it’s the same now - but you cannot visit the Palace hotels.
Great video! Is there any towel services? Do we need to pack our own towels? or can we get them at the resort?

Thanks for the review. A subject that you didn't talk about is food. I'm don't care much about luxury and I prefer a calm place, but I like to eat. How was the quality of food?
Sorry, we were there for a very short time and didn’t get a chance to see the food options.
Are guests from the riu lupita allowed on the beach at the palace?
No they are not

We didn’t connect to the wifi bc we weren’t staying at this hotel - but generally wifi is not an issue in Mexico.

Unfortunately we didn’t catch any of the food when we visited. I reckon it’d be on par with yucatan or tequila. Anyone else have info on the buffet?
