I failed this song about 3-5 times so I guess that wasn't enough. I also decided to take a break after the first 2 or 3 fails cause I thought it was going to take me a while to beat it.
Can confirm cuz I screwed up in the last section (where the screen drifts upwards and after Ada tells you to stay calm) 8 times and at the 5th try I got the "Am I supposed to be surprised every time thing" and it also made me laugh

He has 7/8th of a heart so your spacebar also goes 7/8. Genius
Ngl, the first part is easy, but after the heart gets corrupted it gets hard af.
because that i needed 4 days to pass that music
Took me one night to pass this level; which is still a lot, since I usually only take a maximum of two tries to pass each level!
just activate very easy mode or just... unmissable mode (esc > settings > accessibility > enable extra difficulty)
No the 7/8 corrupt heart part is actually kinda easy
After you've done around 2 to 3 beats of 7/8, you probably have already memorized the beat.
@@astrellxvoide I use a “Self Corrupt” to give myself the Timetable for weird Timezones like 7/8s
Professor: can you see me well?
Also the professor:
This is so perfect to a level I cannot even begin to describe
For anyone struggling to do this level, here's the trick:
Your brain counts like this normally: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, (pause)" with the pause being the 8th beat.
You need to learn to just skip that pause in your head. As soon as you say 7, immediately loop back to 1.
If it helps more, you can shorten 7 and say "sev-" then back to 1 for easier counting of 7/8.
I actually prefer using 4/4 instead of 8/8 cuz of the fast bpm and I just use one...two...three..fo-one... etc. And it got me to the end
I tend to say "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and". I hope that helps someone else as well.
I do 4-beats and 3-beats but I can't do it in the real game bc I don't have it
@@ehmaree you can also say 1 2 3 4 5 se ven
because 6^ 7^
I remember the first time I played RD I was like "Seven?! Why seven? What kind of time signature is that and why does this game revolve around it?". I never really paid attention to the fact that it's 8 beats, but you simply catch the 7th one and then (pause), as you explained. And your explanation for this particular level made it much clearer. Thanks!

How do you even count in 7/8? Do you just skip a beat on the second line?
I got lucky and perfected it in 4 tries lol
I used my left hand as a Metronome just to beat this map
Very true
Going from Battleworn Insomniac, which I got S+ rank in first try because it's fairly easily for me to keep the regular beat on track in my head even with the craziness on-screen, to Super Battleworn Insomniac, where I struggled SO MUCH because I just couldn't get the 7/8th timing down, was the biggest defeat of my rhythm game career
same here, trying this level flipped my rhythm game skills upside down
When you first get into the intro, just in case somebody somehow doesn't know how to get that, it is based on the Not Responding thing that happens on some programs, usually you just have to give some kind of input for the computer to see it isn't responding, so just press space.
I feel like someone could use a metronome and turn the volume off to cheat this
Edit: i just thought of other bosses having night modes and i hope there are.
Well, how do you use metronome if you don't have the editor?

I haven’t played this but the irregular time is probably going to ruin me.
The 7/8 bit was so hard, I had to count out loud "123456and123456and", hitting on every "and".
I just count 1-2-3
@Michael Darrow Sometimes i do it irregularly spaced out but sometimes i do that
Since I don’t have the game yet I listen and tap my foot to see how many I timed correctly and the ending part always makes me die inside- (after a few tries I only got one miss)
For musicians, we usually count 7/8 by counting it as 4/4 with a missing upbeat at the end of 4.
So we basically count it as "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 one and two and three and four"
So basically for me, looking at the guide on the screen made it harder.
The first time I did this, the game crashed in the intro and I was laughing so hard
I recently just got a perfect on this 4th try, but I still can't get 2-X...

For fuck’s sake a 7/8 time signature, that would be tough with a medium bpm but it’s one of the fastest songs in the game.
I could be wrong but I really feel as if this guy is a huge reference to Katana Zero
This game well predates Katana Zero being released, they're both pretty standard depictions of ronin/samurai. Look at Genjuro from Samurai Shodown for another, similar example.
Honestly I was more talking about all the glitchy effects and the fact that he's labeled as "Battleworn Insomniac"
but knowing that this boss was in the alpha, that could be a more reasonable explanation.
It just _really_ reminded me of KZ
@@fazu3222 could be they *maybe* decided to *turn* it into a reference, because before it was called "oriental insomniac" (but that could also be just some insignificant name change, who knows)
Oh yeah that’s him
What I did was count to 7 repeatedly, preferably not looking at the screen, something like "one-two-three-fo-fi-si-se". Managed to perfect it first time in the actual game after grinding at it a few times in the demo way back then.
"Hope you're good at irregular time"
Jokes on you, 'cause I listened to a lot of Venetian Snares
fun fact: the second half of the song has the time signature that all you need is love by the beatles has
My record is currently one mistake, so I feel like I’m qualified to give tips on this level - they work for me, so they might work for you!
- *Count out.* Obviously, counting is of utmost importance in the second half, but the first half, I believe, is almost as difficult. If you get in the habit of whispering “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, hit” and hit on the last beat, you’re well equipped for the distraction texts in the first half.
- *Use the cutscenes to your advantage.* Take deep breaths, stretch your hand muscles, do whatever you need to do to recalibrate.
- *What’s on the screen is almost never the same as what’s actually there.* I got super tripped up on my first run through of this, because what I perceived as static was actually a beat I needed to hit on, and I didn’t. Just keep the rhythm in your head, and only trust about half of the static screens.
- *Stay hydrated.* Trust me on this one. Obviously, staying hydrated is important to do well at any level, but especially this one.
- *Stay calm.* I know it might seem scary with the giant scary tree flashing every second and the screen tearing, but stay calm. It’s nervewracking, but letting those nerves get the better of you will do you no good.
- *Use what’s most comfortable to you.* I know the spacebar is ideal to the game, but it was around Puff Piece that I got really frustrated because the beats weren’t really registering, and I had to curl my hand in a really uncomfortable position. So I switched to mouse, and that felt a lot more comfortable. If I tried doing this level with a spacebar, I would just be floundering around the whole level.
And finally, just take breaks. Every 5 failed attempts or so, get up, walk around the room you’re in, stretch, and then come back to playing.
Good luck!
The distractions are on beat in the first half so it's easy enough! But god the second half was impossible without counting for me

Kudos to the people who had to play in 7/8 time for this song
I literally beat this by constantly repeating the Major Scale and oh god it works-
i'm going to tear my keyboard apart and smash the spacebar into tiny pieces
I beat it by counting 1-7 but like doing it on beat, so like the fast part 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 then right after I get to the seven halfway through go back to 1
Ah yes, *OSS STAG*
First time playing muse dash i thought my game started genuinely tweaking
I'm not to this yet (I'm on 4-3) but my plan for this (which seems to work when following along) is to figure out the timing (which I did afaik) to press after 6 while counting normally - essentially alternating between pressing on 7 and a little after 6. Hope it works in the real deal.
I know this is a 6 month old comment, but did you get to 1-XN? How did you do?
@@Indigo_Indignation Can't remember when I got to it but I did end up getting to it. However, the 7/8 part kicked me to the curb hard enough to where I had to no-fail it in order to actually get through for sanity's sake.
Very belated update: A while back I went back to it and using a 3-count (which I tried to play along with it using) I barely managed to beat it legit.
The only way i could beat this was by turning the screen off and just repeating over and over until I could get the timing
i thought i heard the vocals say "sus" for a sec
i kept the very same rhythm in my head and it worked
For 1:28 my strategy is to listen to the beatboxing (I think) and do it that way
