Don’t take it too personally. Perhaps it was more your choice of music that didn’t chime with the judges, rather than your playing. Also, judges like to see a competitor display confidence and interact with band mates and the jury/audience. I imagine it’s a bit of a turn off if the competitor just walks on stage, bows, counts the band in and starts playing and then just stands there playing, barely moving. Just some thoughts.

yup, I honestly just think the judges wanted more of local tunes and not just standards. We'll get the win next time
