Highly informative video. Thank you.
is there anything specific required for the adjusters ? do they have locator pins etc or just put them on and use the timing tool ?
I was wondering the same, but if memory serves from timing my old n52, I think the adjuster units don’t have a certain orientation. Just the impulse wheels.
Are all the bolts reusable or do you new bolts?
Great content, please invest in some decent cameras to aid grow your channel.
Thanks for the feedback - Yes getting a couple
More GoPros and stands
what did you use to hold the crankshaft from spinning while tightening the main bolt?
Go through the other videos in this series. Did it on engine stand
**N51 please advise**
Why does it need to use the Tensioner tool? When do you start manipulating the chain tensioner?
During removal of bad Vanos gears, When do you remove and reinstall the original chain tensioner?
Why not reinstall the original chain tensioner and what is the torque spec?
The tool chain tensioner adds a constant and unified preload onto the chain. I torque Vanos 1/2 torque and then I switch chain tensioner tool to engine chain tensioner
@@straightupbmw ah ok great thx
Is every head the same of n55b30 ! I have a 135i e82 from 2012. I need a head an i can buy a head from f20 135i. Ist this the same head or where are the difference
Heads up to 2011 N55 is different from heads post 2011
The differences are in the injector well housings as the injector changes from Eu5 to eu6
Two different part numbers
Does it matter if you have the spark plugs ON when you are rotating the crank/flywheel? Is it okay to rotate it?
It just makes it harder to rotate engine
I prefer to remove plugs and put small rags to cover holes when not in use
@@straightupbmw thanks for the reply.
is it okay to just back them up a few mm?
@@simplelangperorock what do you mean ? Leave loose in threads ?
@@straightupbmw yes. But I will just remove them to be safe. Thanks very much for your video man. I think your video is one of the bests here.
I think you mentioned on your video “to rotate the crank 2-6 times before doing the final 90-deg torque.”
Did you mean 2-6 ‘full circle revolution of the crank” to make sure to maintain the timing?
what channel is your engine instalation video going to be on
Here is link to playlist for engine installation
