Matt Baller I got the 190 4x4 Sportline, picked up a demo for a steal m. What a cracking car and drive it is. Looks amazing on al back pearl paint. Serious car for not big money. Boot is insane.
@K9 1 it was one of the best cars i've owned and driven, did 20k miles in it, also loved the look. I swapped it for a Kodiaq Sportline 7 seater 190 recently as I needed the extra seats for family. But preferred driving the Superb being honest. And I visit Ireland regularly - good solid car for those roads, bags of grip. You could import an used almost new example for really decent money. Compared to the A4 new model - had before - Skoda Superb for me. A4 was great, but youthe Superb has a slick look and aircraft hold sized boot. Sportline only, rest are bland looking IMHO, the black works so well.
been looking at cars like xc60, kodiaq and tiguan thinking they were bigger but looked at one today and its huge. similar to the 3 series gran turismo boot and back seat space. Very good value with about 6k off a new one
7:43 and the stop start issue. I experienced this on a loan VW Polo SE that I was given while my car went in for a service. It annoyed me more than stop /start usually does, and that is quite a bit. Have a Polo Gti now and that seems to be better, I have not experienced that early shutdown yet. Most journeys though, my start up routine involves turning stop / start off.
Suede and alacantara look and feel great and expensive. But not for long.. It tends to age far faster than other surfaces. Great reviews by the way. :)
@@NobbyOnCars The prices for a Superb Sportline in Bulgaria range from 25 000 euros for the base model to over 50 000. An average salary here is about 400-500 euros.
Is the sportline plus package available in Ireland? Can't find it anywhere on the skoda site, but it's front and centre on the UK site, and is there much difference in value there for the plus versus the sportline?
I wonder does the Sportline get those bits in Ireland. I'm nearly sure the car in this video had all of those features that the plus gains. It seems to be blind spot, bigger screen and electric boot. Worth asking a dealer, Pilsen would be where I got this one from. Ask for Rob and say I told you!! :)
I'm about to buy one, after 4 octavia vRS. I've also owned a diesel superb S-EL exec, and it was a barge. No driving fun at all. The sport line feels a bit taughter, but my plan is to fit coilovers and a revo remap when I've paid off the finance etc. The bit I can't change is the lsd, which is needed on the standard 220ps engine, let alone a remapped one.
Is anyone actually uses the start and stop?!, as from my tests (on my superb) i have not seen any saving on fuel.... so doubt it helps the "trees" very good point for no steering when start and stop kicks in...
I use the stop start on my Octavia 2.0TDI 150 on the daily, and my long term mpg average is 57mpg.. So, it must do something if you use it correctly lol
i changed an audi a6 131 for 181 superb sportline estate fine car but brakes are very poor but aside from that its quite agile plenty powerful and my god what space
@@ladyblog-t5v may be they don't live in west of ireland where ya can really test s car and it's brakes also I'm pretty sure an m6 weighs s whole pile more than my superb all I really said was my old a6 had better brakes
If the dogs need to jump into the boot, the Combi will be lower. If you have the 3rd row in the Kodiaq folded down, the boot is still decent but the estate will be bigger overall.
Perfect would like the higher position of kodiaq but the practicalities of the combi are very good. I like the facelift Superbs but trying to find one in Ireland with spec and 190 dsg is hard.
have the engines improved yet ..back in 2008--2010 they gave serious problems .I'm very interested in the modern skoda 1.6 and 2.0 tdi .I want a modern car that's able for high millage up to 200.000 miles
I have a wagon 1.6 tdi for my employees to drive in. It is from january 2011 and has so far gone 367.000 km without any sort of problems at all. Only regularly service. ;)
Vanja Tucakovic what country are you in? Ireland would be a small priority for Skoda in the grand scheme so if it’s available here I’m surprised it’s not everywhere!
Mondeo is more rewarding to drive (if after fun) and the ST-line trim is beautiful, but I ended up going for the Superb Sportline as it really is better value for money overall. I should caveat this though by saying I'm buying for a mix of fun and practicality, so I've not tried the top-flight petrol engines on either!
Good review, at least you spend a bit of time on it unlike most 3 minute videos which feel rushed. Nice job!
Kevin Mc Auley cheers! This one is fairly long but I also hate 3 min reviews you can’t review a car in 3!
Great review mate cheers. I'm getting the 150bhp TDI Sportline estate soon and am excited as balls.
Glad you enjoyed!

Nice review... just bought this very car in a 172 and I love it!
Enjoy it

Totally agree , mine looks shabby now and would have prefeered leather
Sorry disagree I was given this exact car as a replacement and it was 2019 model with 56000 km and not a rattle and seat fabric like new.
superb vehicle!
Great car. The only problem is that it costs about 50 mid-class full monthly salaries in eastern Europe where I live.
Ivan Popov what are they starting at? I thought Ireland was an expensive place to buy a car!!

Jamie McDonnell thanks a lot 👍🏻
When did the put the 6 speed with the 190bhp? they do the 6 speed with the 150bhp. Which car did you test?
joe simmons 190bhp not sure when it became available but it’s possible to order!
looking at the petrol 220hp version of this. How's the ride quality on 19s, does it need dcc?
If it doesn't cost a fortune, DCC is always worth it IMO. I reckon it would be sporty but not uncomfortable. A lot of sportline trim ones have 20s.

Great vid mate: I’m thinking of buying one. Probably the goldy/greeny M3 colour
It actually looks pretty cool with the 20s!
love this colour

I don't really like it myself but I suppose if all the cars around the world combined did it, there must be some reduction on co2.

Would you choose the estate version over a kodiaq if you had 2 kids and 3 dogs??

Yeah that's quite the hard mix to find here. I do love the Kodiaq but for 3 dogs I think you'd be better off with the Superb. UK maybe?!
It will have to be as buying new with the spec is way to expensive. Thanks for your time 👍

2.0TDI plant in this is widely used in the VAG/Skoda range, I know someone with 400,000kms on an A4 with the same engine.

Maybe TSI 2.0 ? That dyzel sound kill me :D
You should hear straight pipe diesel. Terryfing sound
As far as i know the 2.0tdi manual transmission has 150bhp and the 2.0tdi dsg automatic transmission has 190bhp...
Vanja Tucakovic not in Ireland anyway, you can get manual in 190bhp which this car is.
@@NobbyOnCars oh ok, well thats not fair, i've recently ordered my self an estate superb in velvet red 2.0tdi in manuel and only 150bhp🤨

The boot in the passat is pathetic. The closest car to the superb is the mondeo

LOL the Mondeo.. That is a cheap cheap car compared to a Superb :D
@Johnny Dong It actually is.. Even Kia Optima is more "premium" than a cheap Mondeo. ;)
Between chasis is too high.
OCTAVIA HAS MORE BHP .. COME ONNNNNNN!!!
