One for Rock 'n Roll David Wenham cleaned up every acting award for that role in Australia, including best actor in 2003. He chose the clothes himself and ten minutes before filming ran around the building looking for a chair to work with - according to him on a recent episode of Ahn’s Brush With Fame available now on ABC IView (Australian Broadcasting Commission). It’s worth watching. Ahn is painting his portrait whilst interviewing him. His most beloved character was as heartthrob Diver Dan in Seachange years later. He went on the act in Lord of the Rings 2&3 although he’s hard to recognise from Spit in this clip.
This was the first role I saw David Wenham in. When I found out he had played a "hearthrob" prior to that, I found that near impossible to believe! He is such a marvellous actor.
Is there anything David Wenham can't do in the acting world? Johhny Spit here and Faramir in TLOTR: ROTK and so many other things. He is such a good actor.
