For all of you who have emailed me over the past 6 or 7 years asking for this tutorial (I even got a request again this past week), THANK YOU for your patience! I hope you all enjoy it. I've loved teaching this piece ever since I started giving piano lessons. I wish all of you the best for another great week of practice.

This sonatina if played properly, not only is amazing, but it will make you sound like a top skilled virtuoso.

Great to hear you encouraging students to make some expressive variants on the repeat Josh. I find musicians who do this far more engaging to listen to.

Again thank you for all you do for us on utube. Your voice and playing are so calming. We especially like the elegance you present. Those things seem to be disappearing these days. We love high quality presentation. Keep on encouraging us and helping us to enjoy everthing piano.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. I just started playing the piano again and started working on this. I’ve got the notes and timing down but am trying to clean it up a bit and your suggestions are very appreciated.

In a beginner (ish) piece such as this, not pedal markings are in the score. Is it meant to be played with no pedal. I've gone back to my early pieces to really practice (like I should have done at the time). I tend to add too much pedal and am never sure what is best.

Dear Josh, i'm 43 and a former drummer who's been playing since 7 years old, and been in various bands all my life. I want to learn piano as a hobby and can "tinkle" a little bit - certain chords, notation, very basic stuff and I do know and understand time signatures. Is this realistic in your opinion at my age? Only reason I'm asking as someone said i'm too old to learn the other day and I felt totally dis-heartened :-( I'm looking at your courses on your website and extremely tempted to learn off of a master player as yourself. Kind regards, Steve.

Steve you’re never too old to learn! My mom started playing the piano 20 years ago when she was in her 30s. And she’s been my piano teacher for 10 years now
