Love that you carry your dad's knife. I take my dad's binoculars everywhere. I think of it as him seeing my life through my eyes. Xxoo he's with me in spirit
Woman...you inspire me. You are ever thing I ever wanted to be, but I chose the traditional family route, because that is what I was taught "I should be". I just turned 67, and now, i can vicariously watch my dreams come alive through watching your videos. Be it, do it, live it, love it. That's what life is all about! Thank you for sharing your life with me. Thank you.
I loved how you would show visual example clips/shots of the gear you were speaking about. Great video. Your love for Akela (probably spelling that wrong - sorry) is so pure. I just lost my dog, Leila, in October. Full bred Siberian Husky. She was my first dog as an adult and we knew each other on a deep level. She was 14. The pain is immeasurable, but those were the best 14 years of my life, and hers. Anyway, I loved the entire video. Can’t wait to see your backcountry 5 day hike. 👍🏼
Great display of your camping gear! And you included an extensive list of everything!!! I'm thinking this is the run up to your hunt! How exciting!!! I can't wait to see the video of the hunt and wishing you good fortune while out there!
I have hunted for years and camel is all right but you don't need it just wear different shades of clothing that kind of blends into what your surroundings are dearer colored blind so wear whatever you want just make sure there's no other hunters because when I used to wear a brown jacket I was getting scoped out a lot by hunters and that's not a good feeling when you know that someone's looking at you with the scope of their gun I just started hunting where there's no other hunters a lot of hunters don't like to walk they like to sit in their vehicles so all you got to do is get off on your feet make sure there's no roads around you and hunt And also I usually just build myself a little Lean 2 auto logs and stuff that surround the area on a mountain peak because I'm a distant shooter
Thanks for this video! It's so helpful to see what you are carrying. I tend to get overwhelmed trying to find new gear. I appreciate you and the love you put into your videos
I am sô impressed with everything you carry with you, I understood everything you showed us, I am just following you , from the first time I watched your very first video blog and I have followed you through Face Book to You Tube and Instagram I just want to say a big thank you for everything you shared I know, there are times when you have been so tired or in a situation with your dog Akela but you always follow through, and I have loved watching you for that, Sharing your dear mother and your three brothers you make it feel as though we are a part of your family , when your a disabled man like me who is going through so many different types of bad health but see your videos it really takes my mind off my own troubles, so once again a big thank you for that💖
OH! A rain shell! Floridian here. I've been looking for a rain jacket for YEARS for walking dogs or hiking, but they are all so thick and hot. Now I have a new term to use for my search! Thank-you!
I am so inspired by you!! I'm fairly new to your channel, but your content has already answered many of my questions and I'm getting so many good tips from you. I plan to watch many more videos in the near future - your content is just so well done and just stunning! Thank you!
Really helpful, thanks for helping us with the links too. Been looking for a few recommendations like this from an experienced trekker x have fun, stay safe
Rats Linnea, I was looking for the binos and spotting scope and don't see them. I have so loved your videos and production style. Thanks! Be safe & enjoy on the upcoming trip.
I love Vortex as a brand. It's amazing. I have one on the rifle I use for deer season in Minnesota. It's the way to go for the money. Also, love your videos!!
Omg 😮thank you sooooo much for this video and thank you for taking the time to link everything you are amazing I send you love and light always thank you thank you love the video so much information valuable❤
3:59 excellent video….very inspiring and informative. I know you love fishing….wondering if you thought about taking a hand reeling set up with you. I purchased one from Dagger Fish and it is awesome…Weighs next to nothing and you can fly fish with it!
that paracord is also handy when you need an emergency dog leash, should Akela's leash break, or maybe you run into a lost dog that you are able to catch and reunite with it's owner for instance
How will you get the deer out of the woods..? So in CT the deer are huge lol. I feel like your pack weighs 100lbs. You are so strong. I realize without the essentials it would be miserable out there. Enjoy your trip, and good luck 🍀! I don’t think the coffee cup is a luxury item, I’d probably pack coffee/ tea maybe some broth and a cup first. Please Don’t talk to me until I have my coffee..lol. Thanks for sharing my jet black dog enjoys the swamp jacket, thanks to you. Otherwise he would do nothing in the sun at all he literally gets hot to the touch without it.
Love watching your & Akela's vlogs , & all your camping gear looks amazing Linnea , stay safe my dear friend out in the wilderness as you never know what danger lays ahead , so my beautiful warrior princess ❤ take care & i will be Watching your next vlog as soon as its posted here on UA-cam, all my love & best wishes your vivid fan & friend always , from Linda Dunn from Newport Shropshire UK 🇬🇧 ❤😊 xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Well that was fun! Lots of great tips and useful info. Has Akela ever tipped over your tripod? Do you keep your bear spray with you at all times (like when you’re fishing and have other gear hanging on you?). Have lots of fun and may a bubble of safety be with you ~always!
Love mountain hardware. Noticed a difference in the product lately, only to find out Columbia bought them out. Thanks for sharing. I love how Akela is so accomadating.:)
I have really been enjoying your videos. I am looking into purchasing a van myself for leisure and early retirement...LOL. I have never went backpacking. I noticed you have the Suriname trip. Have you thought of doing a U.S. based (not international) backpacking trip for beginnners? I'm really interested in trying it, and a guided trip would be ideal. Much love, Cynthia (almost 55 ;-0)
Thank you so much for all this information! I have never backpacked and really cannot wait to try it. One question. Is the mesh bag the only thing you use for a bear bag? I can't decide on a canister or a bag and I worry about hanging a bag properly. Do you mind speaking about that a bit more.
With as much back country stuff as you do I highly recommend the women’s crispi gtx hunting boots! I’ve been a die hard lowa dan for years but they don’t even compare! Also what kind of poop shovel is that? I’m in the market for a new one. 😂
Wow your pack must be pretty heavy. I hiked 8000 miles in 2 years lots of ways you could loose a lot of weight for not much money. One easy one check out the cnoc water bags and the sawer water filter.
I'd love to know how much your pack weighs. It's fascinating to me where people fall on the spectrum between gram-weenie ultralight and effective & durable
Sad that Survival Frog doesn't send gear to Europe. That solar battery pack would be perfect for me so I'm on the search for one in Europe if anyone can help please x
I know nothing about any of this however, I enjoyed this video very much. The again, I enjoy all your videos. Thank you for sharing. STAY SAFE!! STAY HEALTHY! One more thing, I noticed you never talk about a gun. Although you refer to things as “several weapons of choice that are strategically located.” I believe those are your words. I’m a city girl, not necessarily a gun girl but I would definitely have one with me at all times. Is it unnecessary on a camping trip in the wilderness? I’m a city girl. New Orleans. I’m sure that explains things. Lol.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s not necessary, but many people like to have a gun just in case. It’s important to know though, that each state has different laws and regulations about guns and carrying!
Hi I live in Australia I have a question lol. What and how do you sleep in a tent with bears around ? or even hike with them around in the areas you go.
🤣- Thank you for all the info, I always enjoy traveling thru you. I spent 2 hours in my cousin's yard for Labor Day and got eaten up alive by mosquitoes - so not an option for me.
Love that you carry your dad's knife. I take my dad's binoculars everywhere. I think of it as him seeing my life through my eyes. Xxoo he's with me in spirit
Yes I love that… it makes me feel like he’s with me :)
@karenb1627 Same. My grandfather's binoculars go with me everywhere, he gave me my love of nature & animals ❤

I like that you get gear that can be used across many seasons and situations.
Yes absolutely!
I know your having fabulous hike and your gear is amazing.. people don't realize how much is in packs.
Always best to cry once when it comes to camping gear. Quality gear is worth it!
Great display of your camping gear! And you included an extensive list of everything!!! I'm thinking this is the run up to your hunt! How exciting!!! I can't wait to see the video of the hunt and wishing you good fortune while out there!

Lots of good info here. My question for you is How Much does all this Weigh? You’re a strong woman! 🔥
Great video, I love the pack.I carry my dad's old knife too.
Best advice for all, especially the simplicity of the camera gear to EASILY get quality results with video if you have a talent for telling a story.
3:59 excellent video….very inspiring and informative. I know you love fishing….wondering if you thought about taking a hand reeling set up with you. I purchased one from Dagger Fish and it is awesome…Weighs next to nothing and you can fly fish with it!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I truly enjoyed the video! Btw, what brand are the black sandals you're wearing??

@@Linneaandakela thank you! Can't wait to see where the wind takes you!x
Thank you so much. This was a very informative video. There’s only one question that I have always wanted to know where did you get your sandals? 😊
Wow your pack must be pretty heavy. I hiked 8000 miles in 2 years lots of ways you could loose a lot of weight for not much money. One easy one check out the cnoc water bags and the sawer water filter.

What program do you use for video editing? Love your channel ❤❤❤❤❤
I really enjoyed this so much, thank you! I am doing adventures with my dog too! Question have you ever used the bio degradable toilet paper?

@@Linneaandakela oh yes, didn’t think about that but very true! Enjoy yourself. I know you will!
What brand is the poop shovel? I have a folding one but i prefer how yours locks
What brand is the small white Fanny pack ? , my wife loves it and would like to know
Why did you laugh when you said saddlebags😅😅😂
I am in my 60s and I always wanted to a four day trip like this. Problem is my health isn't good I was hit by a drunk driver 16 months ago
Hi I live in Australia I have a question lol. What and how do you sleep in a tent with bears around ? or even hike with them around in the areas you go.
Sorry for this question but since animals poo in the wild, do you feel the need to pack Akela's poo out or bury it? Good video
You’re just so damn cool.
I appreciate it :)
What do you do about hunting/fishing licenses in each state? I’ve found it can be really expensive for non-resident tags/licenses in some states.
How much does your pack weigh with all of that gear and food?
What about first aid stuff
I can’t believe you carry all that….lol
No captions?
There should be captions!
"promo sm" 🙏
