Spec wise the RTX 3050 is about 30% faster than the GTX 1650. The price difference between the RTX 3050 and the GTX 1650 is around $150-250 dollars. If they are both running above 30 fps it's hard to notice the frame rate difference. The RTX 3050 is definitely better though and is more future proof but both should be able to run about 90-95% of all current generation games. If you got the money to spare then future proof with RTX 3050. If you're going for best bang for buck then go with GTX 1650.
Bro, since when has it become harder to notice the fps difference "if both cards are running above 30 fps"? It is on the contrary, easier to notice the difference. The correllation is inverse here. If the first card would do 20 fps and the second one would do 27 fps, then your statement would be more applicable. But if we're talking for instance 35/50 fps, the picture would be different with less stutters and drops for a 50 fps card.
Where tf are you living that a 3050 laptop is 200$ more expensive than a 1650 laptop. Look for IdeaPad gaming and Asus tufs. (Watch out of 11300h/11320h quad cores... 5600h should cost the same and be better)
A very good comparison, but for those who get a 3050/3050ti laptop, you should probably adjust the fan curves for the system. The thing runs at a maximum of 80 watts when configured to maximum, even with 50-75% more frames, the gpu will run hotter compared to the 1650 mobile going between 35-50
@@FIREDAN075 well, if you mean in terms of “fan curves” I meant by the fans integrated with the system. Usually every laptop comes with a preinstalled app that allows you to configure the fans. The fan curve basically means, you can set it so the fans rev up faster the higher the temperatures. Best to do this for every laptops either way, especially when gaming. Even better if you can find a laptop that has more “wooshy” sounding fans rather than ones that whine. Also the whole watts thing, means the 3050ti has different configurations for different frequencies. Like 35 watts (the lowest) will have the frequencies at 730-ish to about 1000mhz, which is actually more efficient than the 1650.

Supposedly that should still cool the 3050M well enough, since the thing has a max configuration of 80 watts compared to the 50 watt 1650M. In general 3050 laptops have two internal fans, while most 1650 laptops have one (which is weird) and some have two, but you’ll most likely get the same temps, or just slightly higher temps.

RTX's are known to be the improved version of GTX's, I own myself a laptop with the GTX1650 and I can tell is a good GPU but if I got to choose a gaming laptop for free, I'd choose one with a decent Nvidia GeforceRTX instead.
@@raphwild My gpu stays in heavy gaming at 61c° (GTX 1650) but when I play games like far cry 5 my CPU (AMD Ryzen 7-5800h) goes up from 90 to 101c° because it's very power consuming. The more power, the more the cpu will heat. Obviously is probably one of the downsides of gaming laptops. Edit: Capping fps helps reduce temperature.

People say to get 2x8gb ram sticks for dual channel but for the price difference between 8gb and 16gb ram, just upgrading to an extra 16gb + the original 8gb ram. Dual channel isnt that worth it. The Ryzen 7 5800H model would be better cause You get more Cores and More Programming Performance from it. The ram can be upgradable to 16GB in the Future, but the CPU Cannot be.

If you don't plan on gaming much then go for 1650 it's enough (I use 1650 aswell for almost 2years and my games run ok haven't faced any problems yet) but if you have enough money and have no trouble on spending a tad bit more then go for 3050.

Hello everyone, 2 month ago I bought victus 15 , i5 12 gen gtx 1650 I am MMORPG fan gamer , and I play war of warcraft with OMEN app in ECO mode I got stable 50-60 fps cpu temp 45-60c which is pretty good 👍 😀 , on default mode high performance usage I got 144-85 fps but my cpu temperature was high between 66-85c and sometimes over 90c all on Ultra setting 1080p which I don't like so I prefer to play on 60fps to keep my laptop safe , I also run Final fantasy 14 , war thunder and war guild 2 MMORPG games and gave me the same fps almost, eventually I am very satisfied with my gtx 1650 for now but it would be better if I go with 3050 or higher gpu performance. 1650 is still going well

Not really, each component is designed to resist the temperatures. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and my tj max is 105c° and while gaming the temperature can be between 80-100c° depends in how demanding the game is.
Dlss gives the fps boost in heavy games by reducing little resolution (which is not even noticable).like in call of duty warzone if you are getting 50 fps with dlss off ,you may get 60 fps if your dlss is on. Moreover this option is only available in RTX card but not in GTX.
as zed explained, dlss reduces resolution to a very little extent where it isnt even noticeable and gives a good fps boost tho amd launched fsr which basically does the same thing just as good and it works with gtx 1650 so you need not worry abt dlss support or not since fsr has you covered
To all of you spouting ''but 3050 has dlss and ray tracing'', gtx 1650 has fsr 2, which is quite comparable to dlss. And ray tracing is basically a no go for the 3050. The price difference is also quite large between them in most places.

Here, its about $100 cheaper than the 40w rtx 3050 msi gf63 thin. And about $200 cheaper than other rtx 3050 laptops. And its about 20% faster than a 1650, so about as fast as the 3050 shown here.

@@roseslasher On flipkart the rx5500m costs 48k. About 8k difference with the 3050 40w. And the rx5500m is about as fast as a low wattage 3050. So the 8k gets you better video editing performance on the rtx 3050 40w. 16% price difference between the 2 and I don't think the 3050 would be 20% faster in video editing. But make sure to view video editing benchmarks of the 2. I'd personally save the 8k and get the rx5500m laptop and use that 8k to buy a 1tb nvme ssd and an additional 8gb of ram. Quite important for video editing.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla does look better on RTX 3050 (lighting and reflections), while Red Dead Redemption 2 on Medium settings looks worse on RTX than GTX. A True test is to push every game to ULTRA maximum settings 1080p, as most gaming laptops are 1080p or higher displays.

Apart from several FPS, the RTX 3050 does not shine at all compared to the GTX 1650! In addition, the RTX 3050 heats up more and over time very high temperatures damage the laptop faster! I have a GTX 1650 Ti and I'm proud of it and I wouldn't waste money on an RTX 3050 when the performance is unsatisfactory!

3050 has around 20fps Different compared to 1650... I have a victus 3050 it gives more fps than in games recorded here...at same settings without dlss

Yes 3050 really worths in every aspect
If you don't plan on gaming much then go for 1650 it's enough (I use 1650 aswell for almost 2years and my games run ok haven't faced any problems yet) but if you have enough money and have no trouble on spending a tad bit more then go for 3050.

@@Fire.321 i can only tell you about this particular model and not a lot at that since i 'm not much of a gamer. I've played a few games all on medium settings. Can't play big games on Ultra. I don't think i've tried playing on high, medium looks good enough. Again, i don't game much.

Hello everyone, 2 month ago I bought victus 15 , i5 12 gen gtx 1650 I am MMORPG fan gamer , and I play war of warcraft with OMEN app in ECO mode I got stable 50-60 fps cpu temp 45-60c which is pretty good 👍 😀 , on default mode high performance usage I got 144-85 fps but my cpu temperature was high between 66-85c and sometimes over 90c all on Ultra setting 1080p which I don't like so I prefer to play on 60fps to keep my laptop safe , I also run Final fantasy 14 , war thunder and war guild 2 MMORPG games and gave me the same fps almost, eventually I am very satisfied with my gtx 1650 for now but it would be better if I go with 3050 or higher gpu performance. 1650 is still going well

Dlss gives the fps boost in heavy games by reducing little resolution (which is not even noticable).like in call of duty warzone if you are getting 50 fps with dlss off ,you may get 60 fps if your dlss is on.
Moreover this option is only available in RTX card but not in GTX.

as zed explained, dlss reduces resolution to a very little extent where it isnt even noticeable and gives a good fps boost

To all of you spouting ''but 3050 has dlss and ray tracing'', gtx 1650 has fsr 2, which is quite comparable to dlss. And ray tracing is basically a no go for the 3050.
The price difference is also quite large between them in most places.

Here, its about $100 cheaper than the 40w rtx 3050 msi gf63 thin. And about $200 cheaper than other rtx 3050 laptops. And its about 20% faster than a 1650, so about as fast as the 3050 shown here.

@@roseslasher On flipkart the rx5500m costs 48k. About 8k difference with the 3050 40w. And the rx5500m is about as fast as a low wattage 3050. So the 8k gets you better video editing performance on the rtx 3050 40w. 16% price difference between the 2 and I don't think the 3050 would be 20% faster in video editing. But make sure to view video editing benchmarks of the 2.
I'd personally save the 8k and get the rx5500m laptop and use that 8k to buy a 1tb nvme ssd and an additional 8gb of ram. Quite important for video editing.

Apart from several FPS, the RTX 3050 does not shine at all compared to the GTX 1650! In addition, the RTX 3050 heats up more and over time very high temperatures damage the laptop faster! I have a GTX 1650 Ti and I'm proud of it and I wouldn't waste money on an RTX 3050 when the performance is unsatisfactory!
