The mains power port looks really interesting. Somewhere it goes to a transformer down to 12v which then you cant tap into with your fridge etc. I was always told as a lad not to charge the battery whilst it is connected, something to do with the alternator but I can't remember. Is your transformer charging your battery whilst it is powered up and if so, does it effect the alternator etc.
I am using the NOCO duel battery maintainer/conditioner. It is meant to stay installed on the truck. I haven't had any issues in the past four years. I have used it quit a bit when loading up in the garage for trips and want the fridge running.
