- Australia's national anthem is sung in a local Indigenous language before the Australian rugby team's Tri-Nations match against Argentina. Olivia Fox, a Wiradjuri woman and student at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, sings it in the language of the Eora nation - the Aboriginal coastal clans from around Sydney. Every Wallabies player had learnt the words by heart for the historic moment before Saturday night's game

@Clarissa Fernando English is the first Australian launguge,if you mean the Aboriginal lauguges well there are 100s of then and they didn't have a national anthem,the anthem was written in English and only English

Aboriginal peoples do not have one language and most of the languages they use are completly unrelated to each other, like Chinese to English.

Literally just one. No one is forcing you to learn it. At all. So you complaining about it being sung once at a sporting event just shows how intolerant you are, cause you're not being threatened at all, your racism is showing.
I keep hearing this sad logic from the negative nancies online. Within the community and including Aboriginal community this anthem is welcomed and appreciated. Even those that are not totally happy say it's the step in the right direction. The stirring is only coming from right wing white supremacist nutjobs.
