- I hooked the Salmon of a lifetime, can I catch it?... Let's find out!
This time of the year I like to hang up my Pike&Perch rods for a couple weeks and undertake some of my favourite fishing I do! I travel for hours up North on this trip each year but I did not imagine the results to turn out like this!
Enjoy! :)

What an absolutely phenomenal video, blown away! You could spend the next 50 years of your life chasing a fish that tops that one. Made up for you, this could well be the best salmon fishing video on UA-cam
Wow, Thank you George🤝 means a lot, a whole lot❣️
Well done jud that was mint 👏 well worth the effort!
Didn’t expect that second one, mega fish - looked like a elephant seal when you first held it up 😂
Thanks jud🥰
Now, that’s what I call an exciting fishing video! Brilliantly done. Such genuine emotion. I was almost as nervous as you watching the second fight. Magnificent salmon in perfect river conditions
Love this mate, thank you! I can't describe my nerves once I seen it haha!
Cracking video, Nicely done on that monster salmon. Im well happy for you mate. legendary moment right there!
Couldn’t have described it any better! Thank you my friend :)

Eyyy, thank you 🙏
Great video .... a real passion for angling ... keep up the good work!
You got that right, I absolutely love this and sharing it for you guys is amazing! Thank you❣️
"Walking on air" is the closest expression I have heard for that feeling, but even that doesn't do it justice! Even after 50 years of fishing I still remember that feeling. Thank you.
It is a pleasure my friend🤝 that’s a very fitting expression but I agree, it simply does not do it justice!
That's what it's all about lad!! It was definitely 18/20 if not over that with the size of belly!!
I've caught many salmon and that one is definitely a special fish well done mate congrats!! 👌🎣👍🔥🔥
Absolutely!! It most definitely is, I didn't get a shot of it but was 19" in girth! Thank you :)
Tremendous work there young man, all that effort and driving paid off bigtime. Been fishing in Scotland for 20 odd years and Salmon of that quality and size are always a memory for life. Well done.
Thank you 🤝🎣
Lovely fish lad, they'd been in the river for a wee while judging by the spawning colours on them but still a fantastic catch, good to see you putting them back as the eating is better when they are bars of silver, I always put coloured fish back no matter the size. Well done, that'll stay with you forever.👍🏴
Thank you :) I’ll put them all back to let them continue their spawning mission! It would be cool to get one like that when they’re fresh to have full full energy but it’s awesome to see their spawning colours at the same time! Thank you for watching 🫶
Wow, some anglers fish all there lives and never catch salmon that size and you catch two in two days, well done and a joy to watch how excited you were 👏👏
Count myself truly blessed!! I’m glad I could share it🤝🫶
great video isaac, i live in kendal and have seen plenty salmon in the kent but never that big! They are special fish mate, congrats
Thank you! It’s by chance they get that big by staying out in the sea to feed for longer than usual, get out on them!
Wow. Well done matey what a couple of fish 💪🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Much appreciated🙏
spectacular work! would love to see more of this angling
Thank you :), I’ll make note of that.
What an amazing couple of days you had. Little did I know when I joked about the scales how much you would need them the next day... You got the queen the first day then came back and got the king well done. Salmon fishing when it's on can be phenomenal.
Some special memories! Haha I know!! I thought it was just a joke too but nope! I look forward to setting a line with you next season🎣
@pikeandperch looking forward to it too. Surely have a set of scales between us. Amazing memories even better that it's on camera too.
@@hardlinesangling Haha, I hope so!

Well done mate, well in that is!!!!

Nice job mate what rivers this?
Great video, can I ask what rod and reel set up you are using?? Thanks
Thank you! Both are discontinued unfortunately, I’ve had them for years and years
When that monster came in i thought Yeah id be doing a victory dance and low and behold 😂 I also went and had a go at the mystery pier from a couple of videos ago and bagged up 👍
Hahaha! Made me laugh that, I’m glad you enjoyed it and caught some perch 🎣
2 phenomenal fish there mate. 2 great days fishing. Nice job
Absolutely, unforgettable!
He’s the king of that stretch buddy, nice one. I wish I was still fit enough to get out on the waters as from when I could hold a rod I was fishing and absolutely loved every moment of been out on the rivers but due to spinal injury and mobility problems it’s just not safe for me anymore but I loved this video well done cracking catch.
He definitely is!👑 I’ll keep it coming for you🫶🤝
What a video and nice to see you up here in Scotland if that was me I would of went home binned my fishing gear and stopped fishing because that would have been fishing completed for me amazing
Haha! Once I get one like that on the fly I’ll retire ;) I spend a lot of time up there so maybe see you one day🫡
Subbed; New to your channel but, happy that I got here. I luve in Scotland, am generally crap at fishing but, have been re-awoken to the possibilities in Scottish, lochs, rivers and canals. I didn't know you could spin fish for Salmon in Scotland. Steered clear of it, 'cos thought it was all posh boys with fly rods. Not going to ask where you fished, for obvious reasons but, will do some homework. TL mate🎣
Awesome! I’m happy you enjoyed it :) there’s some special fishing in Scotland, tight lines for your adventures🤝🎣
That was a fantastic video. Congratulations 👏🏼 🎉
Thank you 🤝🫶
Spectacular video and really well edited,. Fantastic couple of fish especially the cock salmon. Great memories for you well done !!!

What a brace ,,, stunning catches ,, well done son 👍🏴🤘
Thank you 😊
Great fishing where is that location...what was the method and techniques utilized.....🙂👍
It definitely was! Quicker retrieve but lower in the water column with a black coloured flying c
Wow! Both were huge but that second one was ridiculous, sic, well done! What lure(s) were you using?
It was! All black flying c :)
@@pikeandperchtreble hook?
What a legend! On pins watching this, lad. Well done. Get your bloody net set up, and get them scales bagged up. Top, top video!
Haha, enjoy mate! Lesson learnt for sure🤣 Thank you :)
Jeezus 👀..... I'm also from the Lake District. In the heatwave of '76 we witnessed runs of salmon in the estuaries that were a major local event... dogs were picking them out of the pools as well as locals, and each year attracted lines of serious fishermen from south of the border in Lancashire, who fished under the viaduct's main span in 80 degree C heat. And then it stopped. Tragically. So seeing these unbelievable fish you caught is surely an amazing sign that the salmon runs of old could return again!
That’s cool, it definitely was different back then! Thank you
Some nice fish there man fair play 😊
Nice to see you return it to the river. Nice one
Always 🫡
Loved this mate. I fish predominantly shite rivers and chocolate canals. This has been my dream for years.
Thank you bro 🫶 get exploring!🎣
Hi 🙋♂️ can I ask you what rod, reel and line are you using for this massive salmons ? Braid or monoline ?
Hey, the rod is discounted it was an old spinning rod. 9ft, heavy medium fast. Gxt4000s reel with 15lbs mono.
Very old set up regarding reel and rod but I will try get the brands.
The grandmaster of all salmons. Congrats👍
He was!! Thank you :)
Well done lad congrats 2 personal bests in 2 days brilliant
Can't believe it! Thank you 🤝

Thank you Jerry, this means a lot!🫶
Fair play putting it back.. was hoping you would
Of course🫡 Plenty skilled fish recreators around without needing a dead fish these days and would never want to kill such a fish, or any!
Wow! Well done!!!!

Thank you 🤝
what a fish that male was, well done....and keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Nice salmon 😮
wow wow wooow.... unreal, congrats mate.... what river is it ?
Thank you!
Aged 12 Mum & Dad bought me my first 9ft Trout Fly fishing rod and a day permit for the River Ericht at the The Grange stretch near Blairgowrie and my first fish a 4lb Salmon that was probably returning after just 1 year at Sea. What I remember is having no control at all with line whizzing off as the reel screeched with that Rod bending like crazy. Fortunately it was well hooked and not my expertise that saw it landed or rather beached some 20 mins later as I didn't have a net M&D probably didn't expect me to catch anything. Happy days that you never forget.
What a story! Some of the greatest memories are behind a rod, unforgettable too🫶
thats a pristine croc chief 👌💪💪awsome
Thank you🫡🫡
Good job! Nice fish
Thanks!
Brilliant. Well done.

Glad you think so!
Not something you see everyday day and make a change and well done 👍 amazing fish
It isn’t, truly amazing! Thank you Gary🤝
What a fish of a lifetime. Tbh both of them. I was almost biting my fingernails off as you were fighting the 2nd fish😂 well in bro! Great video. I want to see where's the "This channel is not the same without Dan" brigade after this one🤜🏼🤛🏼 awesome video
Love this mate😜You're right by saying both!! Editing skills came in good then, that was my plan ;) Thank you
@@pikeandperch very good job you did there. That's definitely one of the fish I want to catch before I die🤜🏼🤛🏼
@@blankmasterfishingseriously make sure you do! Unlike any other
@@pikeandperch I will for sure! Just need you to point me in the right direction as you certanly can find some monsters!
@@blankmasterfishingthe “figuring it out” stage is what makes it rewarding more rewarding and what I love!
You have to visit sweden and Lulea river up in north. A lot of trout and Salomon and still very sheap licens.
I’ll see you there 😂🫡
To nice big fish lad good job con from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thanks mate!🤝
Unbelievable! Two fish of a lifetime in 2 days. It's not fair 😅
It is well and truly unbelievable!
Thank you for releasing them. I always try to release my biggest trout I catch even though I'm trying to get one to eat. The biggest need to breed.
Always!
Why do you adjust the drag so much when fighting the fish? I try to never touch drag when fighting fish so I’m interested. Onya mate!
I have my drag set for striking and setting the hook and then adjust it to how the fish is fighting and what stage it is at during the fight. Hard to gauge which is why I change it a lot but I’ve lost a lot more fish from it through my experience:)
😍
Well done, chuffed for ya, crackin' video too. Please don't take this the wrong way, just my opinion on the weight. The fish does look big but the measurements would indicate a weight of around 20lb, as it wasn't weighed we'll never know. One thing's for sure, it's a fish you ain't gonna forget about.👏
Thank you! We'll never know, the guides online I used suggested 21-23lbs and then other peoples have suggested otherwise haha! Regardless, I am made up. Thank you for watching and saying :)
Beautiful fish 👏👏👏🍺🍺🍺
Sick mate 🎉 well worth the drive!! Get yourself down to Wales and get on some Bass and Sea trout 😊
Thank you, I will one day I'd like that. Drop me a message when the fishings on.
@@pikeandperch prime time of year for big bass now, all fed up on crab and mackerel over the summer.
@@BaizeMasters Good to know, when it does ‘die’ off?
@pikeandperch not sure tbh depends where you I suppose
Scotland my home and that off good fish ❤
Lovely big fish, very rare now in the UK.
That's incredible well done son. 😮😮!!!
Thank you!
Incredible fishes!!! what kind of trout/salmon was it? By the way, I like ur censored spinner 😉
They were Atlantic salmon, haha I was using an all black body spinner with a copper blade 🎣
@@pikeandperch thanks, does salmon feed in river?
@@navid-abbasi-fishing They do not in freshwater no, some think it’s a grey area.
Hi! A very nice salmon! Please let me know why you video'd this fish with your outstreched arms? You should video it at your chest.
Andrew
Thank you! All honesty here, to get a shot of the fish. Also the fish at arms stretch was over deep water and not in the shallows I was kneeled in.
Beutyful hen salmon. I am so happy you lét it go to spawn.
Of course, you should have stayed to watch the cock at the end 😎
Wow, that would have taken some watercress sauce 😂, glad to see it go free, well done m8.
😂😂!! Thank you 🙏
The pool of dreams
Giving Jeremy Wade a run for his money with those river monsters 🐊 insane video!
Haha agreed! Thank you❣️
Without the fake dramatic danger he always seems to be in
Great video. New subscriber! Well done. You need to get on your local salmon rivers. Hard work, but they are there. Well played and good fishing. And refreshing to hear realistic salmon weight estimates. I'd give you approx 22lb on that cock fish to be fair. Was a beast. Well done.
Thank you James! I get out on them every spare hour I get, it’s more rewarding catching from there than anywhere else with it being a challenge - like you say. Wether it’s 20,21,22,23 I am absolutely chuffed. Enjoy the content!
Yes mate. Beast if a fish. What river was it, out of curiosity?
Brilliant! 👍
🙏
@@pikeandperch by the way, the second fish was certainly over 20 😉👍👍👍
