Brilliant video Dave, I got the warning message last night, continued home for a further 5 miles and found your video after some googling. New sensor on the way, A4 B9 won’t be going anywhere until new one fitted!👍🏼👍🏼

Thanks Dave, I had the servo: restricted message, and continued to drive about 30 miles home. I then watched this video and after that did not drive any further. ordered a new sensor from Audi, picked it up the same day, fitted it this morning and all now seems to be running well, with no more warning messages appearing and feeling 'normal' to drive.
Had it not been for this I might have carried on driving and goodness knows that might have been an expensive mistake.

Cheers Peter, as far as i know the hydraulic brake support is only on the newer audi/vw with the bosch esp9 that takes over the braking assistance from the servo. A servo pressure sensor is fitted to some older models but they don't have the hydraulic control so no big deal. I would guess you had a busy Christmas yourself! Lol

had this problem this morning, exact error message. brakes feeling like stone on too hard a press like there is no pressure or abs. new sensor (dealer part only in uk- il save you time looking on euro or lowcost) £79.. installed in seconds, problem gone

Great video Dave. It's ironic - that this intermittent sensor fault on the brake servo can lead to the premature destruction of ABS pump if not dealt with. I see there are companies that can can overhaul the pump module and retain the coding. Got to be an option if it's outside warranty rather than hand Audi £3k.
Yes. I had used one of these companies in the past. They give you lifetime warranty.
Hi mate. Spot on. I have had same issue, ended up sending it to ecu testing to repair the abs pump. But after installing it back. No lights on dash what so ever. But brakes are not working, did bleeding aswell, but there is no vacuum in master cylinder, also M.C is making hissing sound and pedal touches the floor smoothly with no use of force. Can you share your thoughts please. Many Thanks
Youre 100 % dave i believe you get 2000 pedal presses before light turns red and a abs control unit is required

Hey Dave! I had no brakes the other day ,i had to almost stand on the brakes to stop the car. It was one week ago, scanned my car with VCDS and no DTC . It is a mk3 Skoda Octavia, 2015. I buffled and scared that it will happen again. I have to say the it was when the car was cold, within first minute of start up. What can be the reason? Hi so I bought a a5 and the seller told me that the reason the abs light is on for me was due to the sensor and told me once I replace that the abs light should go and now I’m thinking I may need a whole new pump or repair have you got any idea?

My Audi s4 2017 had a start stop failure amber light ( said can continue driving )so I have now my red warning light has came on telling me to pull over and stop taking it to the garage tomorrow hope it’s not done what you’ve just said there and it’s still just a sensor I’ll show him your video about the sensor. Wished I’d of seen this weeks ago thanks anyway Dave I’ll let you know the results
What is the difference between 5Q0 906 207 B and 5Q0 906 207. Does it matter which one you should use to replace your brake pressure sensor?
do you thing the fail may be down to heat in the engine bay
I had customer with A4 b9 who ignored warning light caused by faulty brake servo pressure sensor and drove it for 2-3weeks and ABS pump got damaged. He ended up changing servo pressure sensor and ABS pump.
Just sorted one with that exact problem.luckly for my customer warning message flashed up brought car straight to me and my local Vw/Audi dealership had 10 sensors in stock had her back on the road with in the hour.
If they where all that simple to repair we be laughing 😅😅
My audi a4 had the braking servo issue and took it to the garage (someone i thought was trust worthy) and told him what i thought the issue was, he told me the abs is gonna go, i told him about the sensor replacement and he just said hes seen it a lot of times, that i cant do anything about it and drive it until the abs is gone, then go to him to get it replaced, it would cost £1500 to £6000 for the part then labour on top of that.
I've spent £15 on the sensor, watched this video (and a few more to be certain) spent 5 mins replacing it, and issue appears to be gone, no more brake servo restricted sign and brakes feel normal and not clicky.
Almost worth keeping one in the glove box incase it becomes faulty. Merry Christmas Dave 🎄
Just what I was thinking Matt. If I had recently retired, had a big lump under the mattress and could afford a nice modern A4 then I’d definitely have a spare one in the glovebox next to my Italian Job sunglasses 😎😉

Not sure if anyone will read this message seeing as this post has been posted a while ago. I had C11EC04 code come up and took the car to Audi and they informed me that I could continue to drive the car and the car would have to be brought in for diagnostic )(£192 / hr) and fixing. After a few days of driving the car as I wanted to take it to a mechanic friend of mine for a second opinion, the second error came up and it now seems the ABS module is bricked !!
Audi has a responsibility here as the alert should not be stating: "You can continue driving" How many people have contested this at Audi ?? Surely there is a class action here.

Interesting, I had the brake booster fault and continue to drive for about two weeks, now I have a second fault related to the pump. However there’s no change to how the car drives and brakes and some sort of break support is still there, which makes me think it’s a programmed sequence of events rather than the actual pump failure. I’ll change the sensor and see what happens. I heard that sometime it removes the pump fault as well
