I love watching games where Alekhine has the black pieces. He's so good at counter-attacking, that having the white pieces against him is considered a disadvantage. heh. :D

Love to see the old masters play. How about some games involving. "Mr. Barnes" (Thomas Wilson Barnes)?

Alekhine's life is as interesting as his games . During the Russian Revolution , he was to be executed but his chess reputation saved him . Alekhine was always cagey about the details of his release . Emigrating or taking asylum in France , he began his quest for the world crown . he first criticised bolshevism which led to his brother publicly disowning him . Come world war 2 , he wrote a series of anti-semitic articles which led to his boycott by other leading chess players after WW2 . In between developed alcoholism and ran through 4 wives . Even his death is considered suspicious. Alekhine's story is a story of a bitter and tormented genius , whose tragedy was the precursor to the other more famous tragedy , that of Bobby Fischer .

Probably you are used to faster paced games of today . These are Classic games of chess with historical value maybe not for everyone but I’m pretty sure the amount of us that enjoy these type of games from the past outnumber the naysayers by a large number . But ok grab a coffee try to learn something I’m sure you could if you tried .
