- My friends Veronica Merrell @merrelltwins and Aaron Burriss @aaronburriss came to Gold Shaw Farm to stay for a few days and see if farm life was right for them. In today's podcast episode, we discuss their reactions, what they want to do next, and some really random stuff, too. It was a fun conversation!

About Gold Shaw Farm: Gold Shaw Farm is more of a farm-in-progress than an honest-to-goodness farm. We dream that someday we can transform our 150+ acre parcel of land into a regenerative and productive homestead and farm.
Very important the last words when talking to people family and friends and others
Morgan I love the respect you show in the interview, you have such authentic humility and generosity as you invite your friends here into your arena. As a mother of Gen Z’s like this, thank you for being so kind, generous, and fun!
Usually I think new couples online seem strained or troubled, these guys are so cute, they seem genuinely happy.
I love Roni and Aaron! Ive been watching them for like 8 years now. I'm glad they lead me to your channel! You seem like a cool person!
Thanks for watching!
@@GoldShawFarmif you enjoyed this you will thoroughly enjoy watching Gold Shaw Farms. Morgan tells the greatest stories. Plus the animals are awesome, how he treats them as so kind. He is a true gentleman and a very good person. His wife Allison is also a sweetheart.
This is not a UA-cam colab I would ever expect
Fr, i was not expecting it
Yea this was the most randomest thing ever, but I’m 100% here for it
THANK YOU for NOT being about war and atrocities, but just about human dreams and desires. ❤❤❤
how lovely the back and forth interviewing I really enjoyed this video. Such great and positive energy.
As a long term fan if all of your channels i NEVER thought this collab would ever happen. I am sooooo happy that RonRon met Tobydog and Abbydog!
This was a great change of pace in many ways. Age, content, participants. Very enjoyable. I still like the daily life of the farm, but every now and then something like this is great! Very adorable couple!
This is for the young couple. Come up to Northern California. We have all 4 seasons up here, and the San Joaquin Valley is some of the most fertile land in California. We can grow just about anything up here. I grew up down in Tustin in Orange County, and the weather up here isn't too drastic of a difference. Summers, depending on where you are in the valley, can be in the 80s to low 100s. Winters typically are in the 50s to the upper 20s to the low 30s. Take a day trip this way and check it out. LA to Sacramento by car is about an 8 to 10 hr drive.
I grew up in a small farming town outside of Sacramento, and it was the BEST. The weather is beautiful (just watch out for dust during autumn harvest lol!), and you can just toss seeds onto the ground, and they thrive! Politics can be annoying, but already being from CA makes it seem more normal. Not to mention the ocean and mountains are a couple hours away for different scenery!
I’ve been living in SoCal for over 60 years. And yes, NorCal is completely different, and better than SoCal. However, this couple seems like they are in love with the weather down here and would not venture up there. Just my two cents.
@lydian6719 which small town? I'm in Lodi just about 45 min South of Sacramento and 15 min North of Stockton.
I have to agree that rural California is wonderful if you're looking for that life and all your friends are in the city. I moved eight years ago last month to a small town north of LA. I get to enjoy the rural life but can also go into the city to see concerts or meet with friends.
I've been a fan of the twins for 9 years , I love Roni & Aaron this was a wonderful podcast I watched the whole thing
Stumbled upon your channel because of Veronica and Aaron, and I truly enjoyed the conversation you had with them. Honestly, I think you're a great interviewer. I don't know if you have a podcast, but this is great loved it! Also, to add to the conversation, a ship name I came up with for you is Morgalli 😂😂
The question asked were too good. I liked the video so much
Love, love this video. Great interview with this amazing young couple. Btw, I have cried with you, while watching those videos where you have been in a vulnerable position. Thanks Morgan.
Please let us know Allison's response to, "Dear, our ship name is the USS Toby Dog." XD
hahhahahaha
What a fun podcast!! Thanks to all the of y'all for a good informative one!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I wasn’t sure I wanted to commit to a long video (adhd- I can binge, but rarely watch movies because it’s too much of a commitment), but this was fantastic! Thank you ❤
ronron is how we write the sound cats make when they purr, in french. That's why they got many cat pics from that.
Lon Lon Ranch is from Legend of Zelda is from back in 1998. It sometimes gets called Ron Ron because the Japanese do not have a formal "L" like we do. So this entire time I believed Ron Ron Ranch was a Zelda Reference... *I am a nerd* 😅
This is amazing glad the collaboration took place 😊
I was born and raised in California, and lived all over the state for 45 years. Los Angeles for the past 25. I recently moved to CT and I'm still taken aback by "but it's like 2 hours away!" I go to visit my sister who's 70 miles away "Oh wow! That's pretty far!"
This is my favorite parring, Gen X and Gen Z and I think this generational mash up will be the future of our whole country. It’s the funnest to watch because there is respect both ways!!! Awesome video, love it!
Couldn't agree more!
Wow! That was so much fun. What a wonderful couple and it nice to see them truly care about each other. Also, you were in your element with the interview and great questions. Totally enjoyed this. Thank you
A ‘life is a journey’ video. In 10 years it will be interesting to see if they still have the same dreams. 👍 so much can change.
Cute couple - I hope you guys thoroughly enjoyed your visit.
I swear Aaron was just chefs kiss in where’s my Romeo I miss that hair 😂
It might be a good idea to put GPS
tracking on your cats so you know where they are if they go missing.
And it could also make for an interesting video content about the daily routes and habits of the individual cats as well. But I think most of those are usually collars and rely on being close by to pick up the signal - similar to the stuff the hound hunters use. And cats are very good at losing collars.
...Sarah lost 2 collars the first two times she escaped out the front door. But they design breakaway collars for cats for a reason.
Jiobit makes a pendant that can be attached to any break away cat collar.
This was really great 👏 Will definitely be checking out the channel ❤ Got some unexpected marital advice 👍Really liked the scenery the conversation felt so Real ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
How cool. I've been watching their videos for a years. They seem very nice, and their parents did a great job raising their girls. I would even love to have an opportunity to visit nearby Vermont farms. Just yesterday I was on Facebook talking about the tremendous sound of bird calls coming out of our garden trees, and I told a childhood friend who I know is an avid birdwatcher that it reminded me of her. She said that she'd love to experience it. So, I said come on over (from California) any time... mi casa es su casa-style. I've know her since 1st grade and I'm so glad we are still in contact. I hope she can make it here some day, and although we do not have a farm, I think she and her family will enjoy some time here.
Absolutely loved this intimate video- all the humor, advice, wisdom, hopes, personal experiences, and great topics !! So excited to see what the future holds for you guys, wish you all the best for real 🤍
Good morning from
Hawaii. Love having my coffee and watching your channel
Love LA, hate traffic. Sorry Aaron can't have one without the other! My grandfather used to say "Chicago is a nice place to be FROM". For me, it is "So. Cal is a nice place to be FROM". Love living in Vermont, a mere 60 miles from Morgan ;)
@ 22:40 The Introduction of the Spider. This is a little off, going down another path. But " Lizards Eat Spiders " !
So I don't know if there are any " Lizards in Vermont. " But if there were, And I had a " Cat, " I would say; " Kitty you leave,
' Those Lizards ' Alone " !
I really like those kids. They're good people (and nice to look at too)!!
this is one of the best videos...so lad you did this...sharing real life...hope you can do more of these
I don't get people who avoid winter. There's nothing I like better than the hush of a snowfall or the warmth of a fire.
I’m glad people have different tastes so we are all spread out
Many of us are physically VERY uncomfortable in the cold. Having to bundle up just to go take put the trash.
(I grew up in metro Detroit so I went through all school and college in the cold)
Now that I'm older (mid 50s) I can't handle th 105+ degrees here in TX. So, I can't deal with cold OR the heat. Getting older sucks, lol.
If you aren't the one that has to shovel large amounts of snow and chissel ice of the driveways and sidewalks, and the roof, then it isn't that bad. If you work a job that doesn't stop no matter what the weather and you have to go out in -20 weather, it isn't very fun. Or when the ground is still frozen and it rains causing flooding. I do agree it is beautiful and sitting around a fire is nice, but the rest of it is aweful.
@@jmacd8817same, moved to Texas from Indiana. As I get older I find I crave winter days instead of 100+ summers.
@deed5811 as long as you have the money to pay to have the driveway plowed and sidewalks done winter is great but when you have to deal with all of it yourself as you grow older it's not much fun or physically possible!
You have to have them mid winter when it’s freezing to do chores because that would show Vermont
If they miss fall and winter, they can always rent a cabin up at Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear. Just a couple of hours from LA, and they even have ski resorts. The animals may be your responsibility, but I KNOW Allison loves those barn cats. I was crying right along with her when she was holding Lil after her injury. Hurting each other is inevitable. Acting like you don't care about hurting them is what kills marriages.
What a great video, thanks!
RONRON; the sound a cat makes when he/she feels comfortable, in French
Such a good conversation! A lot to take away from this discussion 😊
Kids will not stop you from traveling. Ask me how I know. They will thrive and be much more cultural for it. Love y'all. Travel with your babies!
yes!
such a wholesome episode, much love to veronica and aaron!
Such an amazing podcast. Enjoyed it throughly. Such an awesome and fun young couple. Enjoyed listening to them. Good luck to them. Hope they stay together happy and healthy forever.
There’s a message for single guys in this video at about 18:10. If you want to get married, you need to find a woman who picks you first. Then after you’ve been dating a while and you don’t seem to be getting the idea, she will let you know in one way or another when it’s time for you guys to get married.
I think I speak for all of us when I say we didn’t expect this collab 👏😭
I love the dynamic in this video ❤️🔥 super heartfelt 🫶🏽
I had a fight with my late husband. We were sitting in the car. I yelled, "And if I'd've known! If I'd've known I wouldn't've married you! So it's a damn good thing I didn't know because all-in-all, I'm glad I married you!" He opened his mouth to reply. Closed his mouth. Tilted his head. Shrugged, and we went inside.
Farming. It's so bucolic. A combination of beauty and pain. Lots of dairy farms in my family. One in VT. I visited many times and just loved it. ...... But man, the work is hard. You can't leave without a back up plan. You are property rich and cash poor.
Do not know your guests, but quite enjoyed the discussion. Kind of refreshing to hear some younger folk talk like that. Good job.
the most unexpected collab
This is one of the best videos you've done. You need to do more of this type with different UA-camrs. Loved it.
This is one of the best videos you have done
As for a mix of yours and Allison's names how about AlliMo ? Always remember the AlliMo.
Congrats on the collab!
That looks like a beautiful day, I love nature! This collab was great, they asked really good questions. The deeper conversations were good, I understand some of those things. I'd watch your video about Molly.
Excellent interview, information, advise, and very engaging video!
New farmers are needed.
This one was out of left field... and it was interesting... I liked it...
Yay!!! I’m so excited to watch!!
those two crazy kids need to start a podcast too
Therapy in the woods! Fun podcast idea.
42:32 solid advice

This was great podcast
Can't believe I watched this entire thing lol
Im a merrell fan since i was in college and now im 32 yrs old still love watching them! 😂
I love this! Thank you for sharing 💚
Holy crap didn't expect this one.
That was sweet❤
was that a squishmellow pit?
i'm gonna need to go there next year. they've got pet beds now and they're super soft and squishy lol
OMG!!!!! Never would’ve expected this!!! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🎉❤
I love orb weaver spiders ❤
Well done Morgan. Thoroughly enjoyed this video and your friends.
Great video!
Thanks!
Morgan, another blockbuster! You being a multifaceted person, today you showed us your most important side. What a guy! From NH, Patricia 👵🏻🤔 🤗 ❤️
Hmm, Morson or maybe Allgan? Allan! That could work. Or even Almor? Morlis? Moral! I feel like I could play this game for ages. lol
Great video, i didn't even realise when an hour past.
There is a 45+ acre farm 2 miles down the road from me. 2 homes, a lake, ponds, barns...if I had 5mil it would be mine.
LOL , not worth
What an enjoyable video.
I actually had the we're dating/engaged/married videos on my recommended feed even though I haven't watched this couple at all.
One of your best!
Happy Anniversary 🎉
Marriage advice was too. Good and epic. I haven't heard from anybody else.
i found out the merrell twins just before they announced that roni's married so i look for aaron's channel and ppl were like so shocked that they're getting married right away after the dating announcement but i was just confused so i watch aaron previous vids ppl were guessing so i figured that they're keeping the relationship private
What a sweet couple! I'm probably twice their age but I felt like they would be enjoyable to hang with. I'll have to check out their channel. I feel they will walk the walk and get that ranch (or farm) someday.
I am enjoying it but I have to admit that I am feeling very old right now. They seem like a very nice couple.
Morgan should host a talk more often!
This was wonderful! Cute couple.
We can also questions to you Morgan. Where did you meet Alison for the first time? Was it in DC or in Hartford?
Hartford
@@GoldShawFarm thx for the reply! Thats cool Morgan! And if you dont want to answer that its tottaly fine but i was just wandering with the questions whats youre story with the two of you? Because i think youre both my age and im from belgium europe and its really cool to aspects of youre life and how you two do it as a couple. Im 38 and and we live right in the city. But im also dreaming of an outside life and how you interact with youre animals its just like watching in a mirror! Also that dog bear hunting gives me shivvers down my spine! So medieval and they can just go on youre propertie like the one guy you filmed what the heck! But yeah keep up the good work and know that youre films always make me smile!
Apropos of nothing: would you be willing to discuss what taxes look like as a farmer in Vermont? Vermont is known for having incredibly high property taxes, because that's how it makes most of its state revenue, but many states have exemptions and it looks like VT does as well. Would you be able/willing to discuss how that tax affects you and whether it helps or hinders the profitability of your farm, how easy it was to deal with, and all that good stuff?
I could try in the video I do at the end of the year about how much money the farm made
@@GoldShawFarm That would be awesome!
Pete Larson from Just A Few Acres did that in one of his vids, but he could only cover the specifics of being a farmer in New York state. That's why I ask, 'cause I'd love to see it in the context of Vermont.
RONRON!!!! ♥️ my favorite UA-camrs
When I offer up visits to the cut to my friends in NYC & LA they never take it seriously. I don't think they realize how good it is for the soul to get out of the city for a bit.
Loved the whole idea of this video. Welcome respite from EVERYDAY political maelstrom (which I ❤️). Thanks All of you!
there was a beetle that crawled into your shirt at 22:55
Okay. This was different. I thought I’d be too old to listen to this but this couple seems to have it kinda together.
RonRon fan here ❤
Every time they say RonRon Ranch, I can't help but think of LonLon Ranch from Legend of Zelda. Please tell me at least one of y'all is a Zelda fan! Cuz when RonRon Ranch happens? Y'all definitely need a horse named Epona! Or a large animal named Epona anyway... I suppose she doesn't technically _have_ to be a horse.
...And now I've got the LonLon Ranch theme stuck in my head. Sigh.
Ahhhhh. Once again, I have hope for the future of the human race. Thanks for this one!
This is great! Something I never thought I needed. You guys are amazing together. Amazing period.
BF's account.. My name is Jamie.
Thank you for this. I needed this.
Awesome.
Thank you! Cheers!
