Your team made a pretty good game, hoping you can bring a few QoL patches soon. At least for sure to toggle the 360 movement on or off for player discretion. Climbing also gets a bit buggy, especially when using ice and locking something in place to melee attack and you start climbing your ice instead of just attacking the monster. Also the balance of some bigger monster attacks seems off, where it's very hard to dodge them, their breath attacks seem to be more like a homing missile vs just a breath of fire being launched in your direction and mostly feels unavoidable.
This game is incredibly fun and gets better the longer you play! I feel like perhaps the opening should have been that massive city though. I feel like a lot of people give up before they even get there and thats where all the fun begins.
Was a little on the fence after watching a few reviews since it was very mixed across the board but wanted to give it a try and don't regret it. Happy to support a new dev team who are trying something different and creative which is priced fairly for the content on offer. Looking forward to more from this studio in the future.
Try the demo. It didn't work for me. JUmping feels floaty. Magic is hit and miss (mostly miss). If there is a key takeaway from Ren's impressions is "it's clunky."
I didnt think i was going to enjoy this game from the previews, but the more i play it the more i really enjoy it. Its pretty unique on its own but does remind me of a lot of other games i really enjoy. Thought it would be like Immortals Fenyx Rising, but it really isn't at all. A little Kingdoms of Amular, BotW, souls lite touch and even some extraction elements. I like how it makes you decide if you should extract with your materials or risk getting killed, overall its very unique and enjoyable. Perfect game for me before Monster Hunter Wilds drops.
I'm only a few hours in and I'm loving the simplicity of the game. I don't have to think too much. I enjoy the world. I enjoy the fights and it's pretty
I was watching you stream this earlier when you fought one of those big guys. It looks like a nice game. It gives me Kongdom of Amalur vibes. I have gamepass so I might try this game soon. Thanks for the review!
Honestly it feels more of a mix of Breath of the Wild meets Monster Hunter. Kind of an odd combo, no durability, but stamina bar and climb mostly anything. But the mix of magic to melee is interesting. Magic seems so far as just more of a way to get in to melee combat, still early so maybe my ice magic will start doing damage eventually. But ice is good for locking stuff in place
Just wanna put this out there to other viewers: If you've played games like Monster Hunter and Toukiden, Dragon's Dogma to a lesser extent, the upgrade system should be very familiar. In some ways the combat also reminds me of Monster Hunter and Dragon's Dogma.
I enjoyed the demo so far, agreed with most of your comments. I would like to see a destructive bar, as when you destroy things and see numbers, I have no idea how much health that item has until it's fully destroyed. Only seen health bar shown on large boss fights...also useful if yellow brick have a discord channel, not seen one
Not sure if you ever played Everquest Next "Landmark" when it was in beta? Anyway the art style reminds me a lot of Landmark. Landmark was a voxel based building/mmo. Also everything in Landmark was disstructable as well.
I feel like the game is closer to monster Hunter than it is to dragons dogma. Because of the art style with on screen graphics, it’s a fantasy RPG so it’s feels pretty different from dragons dogma to me at least
@@chaosmeisters6781 Cool, so far that sounds appealing. Fenyx had too many puzzles for my liking. But it was still a good game. Eternal Strands is not getting very good reviews, but what I have seen from you, it looks fun.
I think it's good, it's not great or bad. Good first outing for a newish team working together. It's a little too Monster Hunter like imo when an actual new MH game releases in a month. Beautiful game, but so far the combat is kind of a 50/50 love hate. Kind of floaty and the climb anything really gets in the way more often as a hindrance than a help. Im enjoying it mostly, hoping for a few QoL patches soon. Especially to toggle the 360 you can make your character do, really dislike that. At least toggle it on or off.
Thank you for taking the time to play our game and for sharing your honest thoughts about your experience with Eternal Strands! We're super grateful.
My pleasure!

Reminds me of Kingdoms of Amular in the graphics. It feels more Celtic influence vibe to the game
Having a lot of fun with this, the team at Yellow Brick Games made quite the fun game.
Indeed they did !
Great video! Definitely gives a good sense of what to expect and your live streams are always a good time!
Cheers
Reminded me of Kingdoms of Amalur almost immediately! Love the art style!
Nice!
Sweet, this really looks like my kind of game, from the art style to the gameplay.
Always happy to support new devs who put heart into their work. ❤
Hear hear!

Despite the combat lacking a certain weight to it I’m really enjoying myself in this world the team has created
It's fun, and that's the key

A health bar would be great
thank you for all that great content

Looks intriguing and interesting 👍💯

Yep, a bit
Ill have to give it a shot. Seems interesting.

fun is the key and it's scratching that itch :)
👍👍
If comparable,
How is this vs Immortal Fenyx Rising?
Watch the video and streams and you'll be able to find out :)
@@Renfail I watch most of your videos and was wondering the same question about Fenyx Rising???
From Playing it is not like Fenyx, Fenyx feels more ARPG, this is also one but a bit slower paced and a bit more tactical I think.
@@chaosmeisters6781 Cool, so far that sounds appealing. Fenyx had too many puzzles for my liking. But it was still a good game. Eternal Strands is not getting very good reviews, but what I have seen from you, it looks fun.
Kinda reminds me of kingdoms of amalur
A bit :)
Maybe in aesthetics, but thats where the Amalur vibe ends. Think Breath of the Wild meets Monster Hunter.
The player character looks a lot like the girl from Arcane. It's really close resemblance 😅
Hmmm I'm not seeing it

Character is fixed or we can make one ?;?
You are playing as the character.
Played for 3/4 hours, i can see it getting boring fast... But decent for free
